Any views as to KCOM tomorrow's results
Agree. And good to see that Primestone Capital LLP have just increased their stake to over 7%.
Kcom. Better bet -debt free and upside potential with possibility sometime of takeover hopefully not by BT but a more solvent less encumbered entity !
Yes the yield is good for now? I would like to know why this company has not been gobbled up by someone bigger? There must be a reason? Any ideas anyone?
Should be a decent defensive long term hold with the possibility of being bought out by the big boys one day. Minimal debt.
Have Just been informed by KCOM. that they do not plan to install optical to our street until 2020, but they can not be definite that it will be done by then. I am only a mile away from the exchange, Download speeds can be as low as 3 meg and on average I lose internet 3 times a week for about 5 mins each time.. Phone calls to kcom take on average 7 mins to answer Their database says there are 3 flats at my address but it has been one private house for 15 years they are a joke but not funny as they have a monopoly in Hull.
That would be nice Kenny, I feel there is some good growth to be had here along with a decent divi
Peel Hunt Gives KCOM Group PLC Price Target With Potential ... UK Market News-5 hours ago Peel Hunt gave the share price of KCOM Group PLC a price target of 150 meaning the broker expects a potential upside of 64.84% from KCOM ..
I just did a google search and discovered that yes indeed KCOM have had a problem that has taken time to resolve. Not good PR and will discourage others in the area from signing up?
Hi lunatic can you tellme in a little more detail what the problems are? I was wondering why the sp is slipping?
Out after 4 years seems to have a bit of downward momentum
Thanks for the information, much appreciated.
Their broadband & phone service has had big problems in the Hull area over recent months

has this lost so much in the last 3 months? trading badly or something else? Appreciate any feedback from those in the know. Will do my own research on he company as a whole. Cheers.
Thanks for highlighting that. Ex-div is December 29th.
I make it the 29th for going ex div.
Going Ex-div on December 30th. Payment of .2p on February the 1st. Equivalent to about 2.2% at today's price. Plus a guaranteed dividend of 6.7% for the next 2 years. This is based on the current price of course.
Good progress continues at KCOM. P/E 8.3 wow, yield 3.something I think, cloud based services growing very fast, a very different company from 3-5 years ago. I like it. At least very fair value and maybe even a strong buy. The future I think looks very good. It will be gobbled up one day, based on growth potential, customer base, inc. HMRC, Good luck with this investment and dividend. Like all tel co's and ip' co's they can't get it right for every customer in every area but KCOM do well, (from an observer in the midlands!)
Hi Darrant, KC does have a monopoly in many areas, although it is in a way by default. I live in a village near Beverley and no other provider will supply because they can't do so via the KC line, even PlusNet which is a Yorkshire company. The only way I could get a different provider is via a BT line which would cost a few Hundred Quid to put in (confirmed by BT). I have directly contacted Sky, BT, Virgin who have all confirmed the above. I do though feel that apart from price KC is a good provider, with a reasonable speed and a very good free IT advice dept and customer service. Like others I am waiting for fibre Lightstream which KC inform me is 2 to 3 years away.
so 90 million, debt to be reduced and how about a special dividend, I guess it is on its way. with a rising share price with all the mayhem about someone knows something. Worth a look at these prices Good luck
Well you can sell now. If you're a man of morals you would and not try to profit from a company you want to cease existing. Secondly you can get Quickline so Karoo is NOT the only option in Hull
Lol! Well I do have to say I'm not the most techy guy on the planet but my points remain valid. Anyway I wont make any more posts on the subject. Suffice to say at the first real possibility of escaping the KC share register and the KC customer list I'll be off!!!
Whisper, think you might be getting your broadband speeds mixed up with your drug doses .
The 'other' provider is hardly off the starting blocks and cannot offer a service as yet. I live in Kirkella which cannot receive Lightstream at the moment. KC chose to offer Lightstream in a deprived area of Hull before reaching the wealthy suburbs! Smaller investment I guess but negligible take up by the poor area! Great business decision! At least your daughter has a choice to sign up to Sky bundle. I don't, just like most of Hull. Some of my family also live in Brough and have fibre which works well. Maybe by 2020 KC will actually finish the job and offer fibre only.I wont hold my breath!! A visit to the KC stadium which is supposed to be a wired venue confirms that it is almost impossible to connect whilst in the stadium! I get a maximum 10mgs into my home which dissipates to even less on arrival into the house. My sister in Wenslydale (the back of beyond) gets 24mgs. I guess the share price reflects how good a company they are. Oh for days of £16 a share!! At least they have recovered from the low of 20p but that was only prompted by the selling of parts of the business. Oh by the way I did manage to sell a decent number of shares at £12.40 so am sitting on profits from KC even if my current holding is showing a loss. I would just prefer to have a real alternative than be stuck in hands of a **** poor monopoly.
