Thanks, that had passed me by but having now read some of the news reports I see that Three were fined £1.9 million in June for the same thing, and it looks like, given the share price has gone up today, that the market was expecting worse. Or perhaps it would have gone up more otherwise, who knows. Anyway, thanks for posting.
Kcom fined £900,000 for 999 failings
I'm afraid one has to finiance and chauffeur this venture, strictly lime and soda, many thanks mike
Yes a very fine dividend. The company is reineventing itself - the profits may drop this year but the future and that great dividend look good. Enjoy your steak and maybe a few glasses of red?
Dining out tonight curtis of kcom divs, perhaps a large steak, mmmmmmm
KCOM shareholders do not forget to register your vote in favour of the resolutions at the coming AGM to be held in Hull on 21st July. Resolution 2 is your 4p dividend. Contact your broker (Barclays, Hargreaves Lansdown, etc to register your vote if they hold the shares on your behalf.
yes that's possible. good point.
Reinvested that's the correct word
I use to get my dividends paid in shares Maybe that's why ,just a thought. Graham
Given KCOM share price can react to very small trades, does seem a tad odd for there to be no significant movement in price, on the other hand it could have been a cross trade, where a big investor sold but simultaneously bought back in order to put into a different account or something, in which case the share price wouldn't be impacted.
Yes me too. I cant get it out of my head that some one fixes KCOM share price, not in KCOM but in the stock exchange. The SP is supressed all the time no matter what the results show. 9 million shares bought ( it must be right not a glitch they came up on a report for volume at 10am) and the SP does not even move a full penny up. Very strange.
I did a double take when I saw that too, could be a glitch or maybe Primestone have bought a chunk more, although I would have expected the price to move to accommodate that many shares.
Or is it a computer glitch as there seems to be a few issues with getting info this morning and different web sites are reporting different figures. ???
Over 9 million shares purchased this morning, anyone know who or why? Is it Kcom buying for director and colleague schemes or private investors?
Kcom 5 year chart ,BT 5 year chart.
Ex dividend date on Monday, payment 1st AUG Graham
Checked out Primestone capital, they invest in undervalued NAV companies, mmmmmmm that's what I thought way in back in 1996 Geee wish I had a time machine lol
The other difference to BP is one od size. KCOM should be nimbler and indeed has already taken steps to alter their business model quite drastically. BT is a monster and may well suffer in the longrun.
That's interesting Truby you make a good point. Thanks
Different beasts but BT sp has followed similar pattern to KCOM's - BT £3.70 last Oct and now £2.98, Kcom £1.18 and now 92.5p. The plus for KCOM is that company is undergoing transformation/modernisation and Primestone Capital obviously like what they see, as they've increased their stake to over 7%, and for our patience and loyalty we continue to get a very healthy dividend.
Yes I get that and agree Graham thanks but I just cant help but think some how there is a human intervention to keep it low.
Guess limited customer growth, earnings, needs modernizing, been in kcom a lot of years, great dividend, Graham
I wish someone could explain how an sp is calculated. I noticed gains in the sp on stock market opening and closing over the last 2 weeks but as always the sp drops moments after the stock exchange opens. I have an on line portfolio trading account account, and I logged in one evening half an hour after the stock market closed and my portfolio showed the live sp at 99p for a few minutes then it dropped to 96p. It was happy around £1.15 up until xmas last year then dropped. The drop was blamed on a minor hack on some of their old routers. The sp dropped 23p and it has never recovered even though the results are in line with expectation. I always wonder if someone somewhere controls KCOM s Share Price? It just frustrates me that it does not matter how good or how robust the Company performance is, they just never gain value. 4 pence divi on a share at 91p is a great return. The long term strategy of KCOM is sound and solid, so why does it never move up. Any one any ideas?
Agree, and I appreciate the candour of their RNS's, they put the necessary but damp news first and the encouraging layer. Primestone have recently added a hefty chunk and from what I gather they focus on companies with a solid core business and significant upside potential.
AS they say look on target and the transformation and upgrade of the business continues. Nothing exciting except the dividend. All looks ok to me.
