Interestingly, I am sure that in a week or two , snow will get dumped over New York,Washington and a lot of the Eastern seaboard and bring The United States East and the likes of maybe Chicago...to a grinding halt.
Airports will close, and people wont really go out much. I doubt it will have that much effect on the stock market
During the 2018-2019 flu season - 42.9 million people got sick , 647,000 people were hospitalized and 61,200 died.but well below the 2017-2018 estimates of 48.8 million illnesses, 959,000 hospitalizations and 79,400 deaths.
It is indeed a stronger virus than standard flu (x2) but out of the first 17 reported deaths, 7 were over 80 years old and another 5-6 I think were over 60 and all had other known illnesses
Just to put it all into perspective.
Should read hardly going to bring the country to a grinding halt
My bad. Shall have to re-think my theory then.

We all hope that there wint be many more deaths but even if 100,000 people died it is less than 0.01% so its hardly going to stop the country grinding to a halt
New year is next week when the stock market is closed
Its precisely because they have 1.4 billion people !! If they don't get a grip on this virus, there could be substantially fewer !!
Personally, I think the shorters have taken the opportunity to sink copper because the china is closed for the new year. The virus is simply making their job easier.

It reeks of market manipulation to me. I guess there has been some technical selling and the Chinese closing for a week has not helped. 25 people have died, and billions have been wiped of financial markets. Last year according to the Ministry of Health, 567 people died during France's first heatwave this year, from 24 June to 7 July. A further 868 died during the second from 21 to 27 July. Ii did no see markets panic and WHO get all worked up and have emergency meetings etc. Maybe I’m being cynical because I’m nursing such a loss, but this is killing me!
They are reporting that due to the virus in China copper is at a 7 week low as China is the biggest consumer
Does anyone else think why the deaths of 20 people in a population of 1.4bn is going to affect the amount of copper they are going to need
