does anyone know the date when shareholders either accept the offer or reject it.thanks
Good Afternoon Rastuss
I agree that this article is rather basis, although i do agree that shareholders have more to gain than loss by holding on. I don't disagree with your points you raised the deal all comes across as a white wash..
I do think that copper is on a super cycle and that the timing for this bid couldn't have been worse. below is an article on copper interestingly saying what Citigroup who are advising the so called 'independent committee' believe the outlook on copper is!
Whether this super cycle with Cu is a spike or stable progression is open for debate , IMV i think it will last, if this is the case then I would expect that this bid will have no option but be shelved or binned. Therefore as Hash says this is a win win.
Nova will have to increase the bid to a suitable level, (which they ought to have done to start with ) or can it! at which point the share price will spike as you suggest will spike up.

Welcome to the board Sollo good to have you here.
Below is an interesting article, personally i think this deal is going to be dead in the water as Cu enters a super cycle.

I date back to those heady Kazakhmys days,2008 and 2011..Sollo. Whilst I don't precisely remember the numbers,I definitely recall some nice transactions back then. Never made a loss on Kaz - which is more than I can say for certain others, eg. I invested in Bradford/Bingley then 2 weeks later it ceased to exist. Ah well,as they say, some you win some you lose. Meanwhile,Kaz is looking very good to me. I'm still holding a few k shares bought far cheaper than even the "640 Offer".
thanks OJB it reached1544 in Jan 2011 as Kazakmhys (sorry about spelling) it was over £18 in 2008
Hi Bottled, received my letter a week ago. Since when it's been consigned to the back of the top drawer. I'll only give it serious consideration if the share price falls to 780 or thereabouts when we reach the cut-off date. Not looking likely.
Have a nice weekend
OJB
Sollo,re previous message, forgot the decimal points! Ha ha.
Sollo, Welcome anoard this BB. Yeah,I remember fluctuations between £300 and £1200 (did we really hit £15?)...I have always enjoyed the excitement of this volatile share. Have always done well with Kaz,recall a couple of nice 4 baggers. Iwill be happy if trading in this share continues.Be lucky,OJB.

My first post I have been in and out of this share for several years. I have enjoyed reading peoples blogs, without commenting, but as things stand I thought I should join in. I received a corporate message from Barclays this week and voted not to take the offer. I hope every - one joins me. I remember the days of plus £15 lets all decline the offer and maybe
we can get there again.
Has anyone received the offer letter yet? I haven’t not that it really matters as no intention of signing acceptance. Cu breached $4 today.

Shakhtar
who would be accepting the offer? it's win win from here.
two things may happen the offer is revised upwards .....(which now is unlikely as we approach result dates and copper prices firming up as it would be too late) or the major shareholders recognising that this is now too late and withdrawing the offer in which case this could go beyond 1000 p.
I have seen this play out in case of Vedanta India recently which i bought into after vedanta delisted from LSE .. The promoters wanted to take it private few months ago and it failed miserably as shareholders did not approve. The share price of Vedanta is now twice the offer price by the promoters for taking it private.
In case of vedanta the share price was in fact below the offer price all the time and the majority institutional and retail shareholders still did not approve the offer.
Only a day since Chinese got back to work from lunar holidays and copper already threatening $4.
Anyone on here still thinks of sending their offer acceptance form in? ))))))))))))))
I am so glad that the shareholders have stuck it out. given the current commodity prices kaz will be having amazing cash flows with existing mines and additional capacity that will come in to production soon.
best would be if Nova to abandon their bid and focus on maximising value of the company which they would benefit most from being the largest shareholders....
I Jolly well hope so.... they couldn't have got their timing more wrong on this current bid. Strange as they have been running the company so well!

I reckon the copper price action over the next few days and the results next week will put the final nail in the coffin of Nova's offer and we will see KAZ sprinting to £10 in no time
KAZ share price has a hand break because of the present offer. See how ANTO has recently responded. ATB
Good hit,Shakhtar. Well, there we are then. If Nova wishes to further revise their bid,it must be north of the SP de jour, otherwise we could all get a better price in free trade. Today's news bulletins on copper should presumably concentrate the Nova minds as to whether to proceed.....
Renaissance Capital raised their target price for KAZ by 25% to £10 yesterday. They said: "We maintain our BUY rating as we like KAZ's portfolio of low-cost, long-life copper assets, which we expect to provide robust returns through the cycle. We believe KAZ offers near-term volume growth through Aktogay II and longer-term growth potential through the Baimskaya project." They attributed $1.1bn NPV to Baimskaya even with the $8bn capex in arriving at their recommendation.
Yeah,it seems that the current offer is muddying the water...price would be some 10%+ otherwise.
As things stand,I'm hanging on to my holding ; no point in agreeing to sell . GLA
