JOG has been the type of share we’re there is not much news for quite long periods then BAM. Something big comes out of the blue, with no leaks.
This has happened twice whilst I have been invested here, the 1st time I nearly sold just before it 5 bagged in 1 day!
Unfortunately I didn’t sell any (stupidly), but am waiting for the next big moment to take a bit of profit next time around.
mjga786, you ask why no more posts from me- simple , i said that over that week i had invested £450k and would now wait at least until the spring. so i have nothing more to say. the only reason i was being specific was that i considered it would add some credibility to the blog. have a good christmas
Dickupham keep your well informed post coming a pleasure to read and keep the faith All.
apologies: the Arden report was issued on 8 Oct (not 3 Sept)
.......... if it's any consolation, I found your posts ok, beefslices. I don't have a problem with anyone telling the world how many shares they're holding, or whether they're buying or selling, but the usefulness or otherwise of the information is debatable. I was interested to see a sale of £99,990 at around 170p (from memory) but this didn't seem to warrant comment - was a quick profit taken on one of the earlier lots bought?
JOG has the present profile of a company in which there's a seller at work. I'm surprised the directors haven't taken steps to establish and clarify why one significant shareholder sold 160k shares between 27 June and 30 September without (apparently) notifying JOG that the 9% threshold had been crossed. I will be interesting to see what the register shows at the end of December. Maybe the constant supply of shares is just the result of holders across the board giving up. The latter would be surprising though, given Arden's 3 Sept assessment of Total Risked NAV (p/share) of 597p, with the commentary: "We also look for the planned new CPRs and confirmation of the P2170 2020 work programme, which may include further drilling (taking full account of the data from the Verbier appraisal well and new 3D seismic survey, and potentially being exploration of Cortina or Verbier Deep and/or Verbier North). Beyond this, there is the Greater Buchan Area concept selection report due to be delivered to the OGA in July 2021, followed by a formal development plan submission in 2022. There is also the ongoing potential for new production acquisitions. This provides plenty of potential newsflow in the coming months, and beyond this a route towards first oil. In our view, the market is yet to fully appreciate JOG’s new asset position; we maintain our Buy recommendation and 550p target".
The fly in the ointment seems to be that the market doesn't think JOG owns anything worth having. There is clearly a communication breakdown. It might seem obvious to some that funding won't be a problem but no-one has explained in words of one syllable how JOG intends to secure the funds needed to make the GBA licences work. Let's hope someone does decide to explain before the cash starts to diminish. Companies with their backs to the wall rarely manage to strike advantageous deals. This is just a fact.
Most longer term investors carry out research to enable them to assess what share price would be supported by the fundamentals within a time-frame they're interested in. Each will have their own views on risk and these have to be balanced against potential reward. There is, however, an increasing tendency for those buying and selling shares in companies like JOG to focus only on short-term price. This poses the greatest risk of all because the shares are in danger of never sustaining a level that reflects their true worth.
The dicking around with the SP leaves a bad taste. Questions of integrity always concern me.
imo/dyor
beefslices, I agree with you. Why someone wants to say that they have topped up normally not saying hoe much and also that how much they have invested. I ignore hype or decline talks re: SP, as I FEEL CHILDREN AND PETTY INVESTORS ARE AT PLAY . However these shares will go up but I do not know if they will again go down below a pound. fairdealer20 is 100% correct, many have agenda, to fill or to make petty amounts for a meal!!?
beefslices these boards are full of "Walter Mittys" who some believe. Take it with a shovel full of salt. Many have an agenda.....their own Wallet!!
Thanks for that, no problem. I'm generally sceptical of anyone that writes on here how much they've bought or sold, especially a new avatar (regardless of the amount).
beefslices, Sorry for me calling you jealous. I think it was rude and bad comment. Large amount of investment was made, yes YOU ARE CORRECT NO MORE POSTS FROM HIM, any way good luck to every body.
So what happened to Charlie Big Potatoes with his 450k investment? 4 posts and then vanished - everyone else is fine with that and I just get called jealous?
