That the email sent, so let's see if there is any response to this.

I agree it is major top up territory but also quite embarrassing the level of drop that has happened with no reassurance
Hi D
I know what he can say in an email might be quite limited, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Will let the board know if and what response is given.

AJP, good idea - send him an email & let us know if you get a reply.
Hi Dougerboy
Thanks for that, I would think that the split would be around 25% R&D and 75% commercialisation, but that is just my guess.
Since we have a habit of being quick off the mark with a negative RNS and very slow with the positive ones, then would it be possible that they might not even put a RNS out on the completion of the building repairs and the return to full production, advising that all customer requirements had been met and that they are in negotiations with the insurance people on a settlement figure for loss of production and disruption to business etc etc?But put out a operations update in Jan 2022?
Is it worth sending John an email to see if we can expect an update soon?
SP dropping into major top up territory, absolute steal at these prices, but will languish here without some sort of positive update, patience is a virtue as they say.

Hi AJP, nope not sure what the current spend on R&D is, but if we look at the history of Itaconix and the capital invested to date, over the past years, a significant proportion (I would say $Millions) has gone into researching, developing, and protecting the company’s unique IP offerings relating to Itaconic Acid based polymers, giving us our moat of patent protected IP). The focus now is and has been on commercialisation. And so I personally would welcome some (details not needed) company information on prospects & successes being lined up by the new VP Sales (Monna Manning). She’s been in the job a year, and the company gave her hiring a significant mention. So it would be good to hear if she has been managing to add some significant prospects into the sales pipeline, worthy of her previous mentions!
Good point the head of research posted a blog on ITX and basically use university to aid there research and offer post for university students as stepping stone to other company's.
In fact they boost about this and are surprised that anyone goes past 3 years employment.
Think AJP08 found the web link but was over 7 months ago.
Anyway noted justdeezerts will be more direct for ITX
Was a little disappointed regarding feedback on Ecover as may be me but seen as major supplier globally.
Stopped posting new products found unless a major supplier , not bought since first purchase but tempted if funds available . always vowed one big investment no top ups or hedge down in this case more shares as in profit.
Hi HSD
Not aware of ITX actually setting a budget as regards R&D, but they have dedicated chemists working on new formulations.
Dougerboy, do you have any visibility on this?
Not sure if this will assist you in the meantime

With that in mind, does anyone have any information on how much focus the company currently has on R&D: what they're working on, annual budget etc?
Here's all that the latest full results (year end Dec 2020) say about it:
"Administrative expenses consist of sales, marketing, operations, research and development, and public company costs such as legal, finance and the Group Board. These expenses were $2.6m in 2020 down from $3.4m in 2019."
Thordon - Always look forward to your research snippets.
However, not convinced that your latest article is relevant to ITX directly. We all know that itaconic acid has many 'green' uses, but on this BB surely we need to focus on ITX's trademarked products, otherwise could be seen as grasping at straws.
Only positive news releases from the Board will re-energise the Company's status as an investment opportunity IMOH.
