i agree ,i understood why they dived due to losing euro soc etc but why o why is is this thing so attached to the ftse , you try and put an add on at the moment [infact for the last 6 weeks ] and the putor says no too busy with adds all upgrading with cv19 safety the till is overflowing , the fca need a poke and a kick in the pants
Nige - where's the FCA when you need 'em??!! The manipulation here is sickening.
As I wright this the ITV share price is down 5.18% all the good work of this week wiped out, for what reason? Nothing, no news that I've found other than GS manipulating the share price yet again. I'm afraid we are at the mercy of GS until they are done with ITV the share price is going nowhere.
Hang in there everyone. A couple of decent programs on ITV and the share price will bounce back. They are usually quite inventive when it comes to getting viewers to tune in.
I agree its very unlikely we will be back in a full country lockdown though Regional ones might be common throughout the UK, my great worry is once the dust settles somewhat and the discussion on how to rebuild the countries finances gets into full gear, I can see much of the tax burden falling on profitable companies as it will be the easy choice as a alternative to income taxation and cuts in government spending. could be many years before we are looking at decent dividends anywhere in the FTSE 100
I don't think that there will be a second lock down, for one simple reason the country cannot afford a second. This is why we may have local lock downs. I personally don't think that there will be another spike in the virus like the first. A vaccine I believe will be ready to start vaccinations by the start of 2021. markets always move in advance, so any positive vaccination trial news will start a rally. Also we're the most advanced country in finding a vaccine for this dreadful virus with trials at stage 3. The vaccine will be the game changer. Just my opinion of cause.
Hope there is a news about confirmed vaccine by September to prevent second lockdown in winter otherwise no Christmas rally this time I guess.
SP could go anywhere. Iām not convinced that weāre going into winter lockdowns. Imagine a vaccine gets approved or the virus numbers suddenly fizzle out? The stocks that will benefit from that are those that are most beaten up.
Well thing that assures me is that atleast company is not going to go bust...I mean about ITV but really we all have been backing a wrong horse since April! Look at US stocks, all recovered back to pre covid levels and infact have gone higher. I missed out TESLA despite keeping an eye on it every week since April instead I have put money in ITV and this dog is back to April levels! I had invested in Facebook at 151p and 206p last year and due to covid sold it at 205p and 161p in March and did not invest back into FB and now FB is at 270!!! I have managed to buy TESLA at $900 and then again at $1400
US stocks are much better than FTSE stocks. I think I will be out from ITV before start of October or as soon as we hit 75p. Winter is no doubt going to rattle markets and ITV will be in forefront to go lower than any other FTSE 100 stock. Buy again in Feb next year. Today topped up at 63.25p to bring my my avg down so I guess 75p should be break even for me and hope it gets there soon. ATB
Yes, and I watched it and did nothing. Total loser ... lol.
Must of been tough at the time, weldone for holding out.
A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.
Talking of 888... up from 80 in March to 196 today! Dayyyyum...
Yes, but you didnāt get the full story. Iām sitting in a square in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, checking up on the market close, only to see that my biggest holding is down around 50%. Youāve done your homework, the company has no debt (stuffed with cash), low operational gearing, and itās market is beginning to open up. But sentiment is very poor, and driving the share price down. You go from total loser to market wizard in the space of a few months, a gut churning ride of emotions ... I just switched off, and it worked out okay in the end. ITV has a similar feel to it.
175k in impressive patience there, paid off for you thats great!
Can't be getting emotional on up and down swings, usually leads to a poor decisions.
If you know you're risking something you're not willing to lose or will get overly emotional about fluctuation, maybe reduce your buy amount.
Lol ... Iām sure youāll do well as long as you keep your nerve. Try 175k of 888 at 50% down a few years back? Bought at 58p, sold around 160-170p. The biggest shock about investing in the early days was how fast a share can plunge, and equally how quickly it can recover. Like Schrƶdingerās cat, it came alive when I stopped looking at it.
Easier said than done when you're in for Ā£10k @ 74p average (oops) lol. Not too concerned though. Common sense always prevails.
LOL ... pointless predicting ITV SP ... canāt see it moving until the updates show a definite improving trend ... or M&A activity ramps up. Those of a nervous disposition should switch off the monitor and take a look monthly.
"We'll open above 66", they said. "it'll be fun", they said.
Hmmm...
Taiwan - We'll still open above 66 tomorrow looking at the UT - I think our first resistance point is just slightly above 67p, so a shame we couldn't hold the rise and close above that. GLA
Well that was a bit of a disappointing end to the day. Still, a blue is a blue I guess!
