Hi Solley, really sorry to hear about your injury, but glad it wasn't any worse - which it could easily have been

Solley - sounds like despite the initial bad luck of the fall, you've been lucky with outcome. Broken necks can be so dangerous. Best of luck with recuperating. GW
Ouch !!! Solley mate, hope you're on the mend. Just catching up with all the messages from this afternoon and the last thing you need on here like the rest of us is another pain in the neck !!!
Good finish to the week and good volume again today with over 6500 trades recorded.
All eyes will be on Spitting Image tomorrow and it should be a cracker !!
Fingers crossed for next week.
Still alive Nige fell off the car while cleaning it to save a few Bob and cracked my head on the drive .
Solley ........ "I have just spent time in hospital with a broken neck"
Bloody hell Solley, hope you recover soon, take it easy. GL.
Oh do go away Tom I have just spent time in hospital with a broken neck and all you are to me and many more of us here is another pain in the neck with you unhelpful unnecessary stupid remarks .
You must have something more interesting to do ,indeed the only reason I am posting at the moment is because there are less people like you on the board , and I am laid up recuperating at this moment in time please give us all a rest . And find something useful to do.
I think there is definitely something going on here, not just wishful thinking. Either Britbox figures better than expected or M&A activity. Possibly someone else joining in Britbox? We have seen 15% increase in a week
ftr I also bought into Shell this morning, both represent long term value imo !
There is definitely something going on for upward trend.
Spot on Nige... unlike tom I wish him all the best but investing in a company that has recently produced record losses this year (hence the diluted dividend quote) just proves how crazy he is. (Not to mention the predicted 3 years to get through the back log from the trump / Saudi price war)
All the fundamentals that he's bringing itv down with on this BB applies more to shell and that's sector than any other. And now ramping up a take over... the hypocrisy is laughable.
Hopefully we won't hear from him again. But you're spot on Nige, if I sold my shares it wouldn't do anything to the price which is something's the poor bloke couldn't get his head round.
Dave..... "My prediction over the next few years is tom will get very frustrated with the diluted dividends at shell, possible further SP drop and no doubt come back on here and take it out on us lot.... again."
Hi Dave, I suspect that Tom's heart is still with ITV after he claims to have made a loss selling out at 80p, he says that he would buy back at 50p. No amount of bad mothing will move the ITV share price on a public discussion board. He wouldn't have lost a penny had he not sold out in the first place. Chasing your losses in Shell in hope of repurchasing ITV at a lower price is wishful thinking in my opinion.
Just had another top up at 69p.
Not sure if 70p will be broken before the end of play today and before the weekend. The stock has had a good week but with Trump allegedly claiming that he and his wife have Covid just days after that car crash tete a tete with Biden I think Spitting Image will have an absolute belter tomorrow !!!
NigeCo... just proves how mad he is. Itv 50p and now predicting shell will pay nearly 10% dividends. Laughable.
Shell are so far behind other companies when it comes to green energy. They have recently admitted this and acknowledged where the future lies, even planning on pumping billions into the green sector which has not gone down very well with investors. My prediction over the next few years is tom will get very frustrated with the diluted dividends at shell, possible further SP drop and no doubt come back on here and take it out on us lot.... again.
19 August 2020 TomLondon.............. "Compare ITVs recovery to other solid ftse 100 companies and you are betting on a donkey in a race of thoroughbreds. Shell will go £11-£16 by Christmas when ITV will still be below 70p. Once I make money on big oil I will return for the slow increase in last century's media."
Tom would be better off spending his spare time researching a share that he owns than a share that he lost money in.
"Shell £16 by Christmas." Good luck with that one. Current share price 930.65p. ITV have a better chance of seeing 100p than Shell £16.
Hi Alex, I agree it is interesting, but I think that GS, and whom so ever their clients might be, are going out of their way obscure or mask the true nature and extent of these share transactions
Davielad ... the GS updates are intriguing. They still retain the Liberty holding but it looks like they have lowered their own interest? It might explain the SP rise, in the sense that the foot has been taken off the neck of ITV. I’m only guessing, and honestly have no more information than anyone else. But it does look as if something has changed.
Rock on, sorry to hear that you have perhaps sold out prematurely. I suspect that any perceived resistance at 68, will very quickly be overcome.and that upward momentum will now be maintained.
Sold my holding friday pm at 62.8 having bought at 58.9. Appears support level moved from 57/58 to c63/ 64
and resistance moved up from 64 to c68
5eigths, I agree with Nige and think you could well be right. The recent succession of RNS's referring to changes in GS's holdings might on the face of it be a bit obscure, but it certainly points to some activity taking place
5eights, you may well be proved right regarding GS, I also have my suspicions that they're acting on behalf of a possible acquirer. Maybe one day things will reveal themselves.
In answer to your question, most probably but unfortunately us 'outsiders' have no way of knowing. I'm just looking back at all those large uncrossing trades from last month, 286m, 102m, 75m and 124m shares and also noticed that Blackrock's current holding in ITV is a lot less than previously announced.
GS are trying to give us the impression that they are sellers but my gut feeling is that they are moving the stock into their 'back books', ie. away from the prying eyes and are building a stake for some else as I mentioned a few weeks back.
5eights could it be that Liberty's ITV shareholding is held in GS name?
That site is not up to date, its about three months out of date !
My link was of last night !
still there according to this:

A few weeks ago I asked the question about the missing Liberty's holding in ITV and no-one came back with an answer.
I've just looked up the latest institutional shareholdings of ITV and still no Liberty, click on this and then under 'ownership' move from funds to institutions :-
