@radiogent - yep, I think I've managed to date the article. It also mentions Britbox UK is yet to launch
The Iranian deal has stalled. Last minute Kim Jong Un has called up Tehran demanding he gets a Saturday night slot every week where he, along with Ant and Dec sing the achievements of the Korean Peoples revolution and extol the virtues of ideology. End of show Kim gets to do "Lets get ready to rumble" alongside the Geordie duo.
Ad breaks are to be replaced with short films on the bumper harvests and factory output of the Peoples Republic.
@Egg - the fact it mentions Hulu but not Disney + is a clue
Good to see that on fantasy island in the creative Costa coffee stockroom Tomtit is at his best. Stick to serving flat whites, leave the conspiracy theories to those who at least have imigination.
Forget Apple, I have heard in the last few days from my contacts in Mossad that the Iranian revolutionary guard are preparing a bid for ITV. The Grand Ayatolla geezer has apparently approved a few billion in dodgy oil money from the Chinese to pay for the deal.
Once bought out they will use ITV to put their message out to the world. A rival to the Gulf states and Saudi owned broadcasters. Black headscarves will become the norm and no degenerate western music or debauchery. Boris is meant to have signed up in return for some nice Persian rugs for his bolt hole in Greece once he gets the boot.
Ah, gotcha. Thanks Nige.
Interesting about Apple. They crossed my mind the other day. A bid would be brilliant, but more than happy to continue to hold here for growth.
EggScotch, I also was looking for the date of the article. It was posted on ADVFN discussion board this evening.
Hi Nige. Do you know when this article was written? I can't find the date, but the Netflix share price seems to be quite out of date??
Interesting comment Rob, thanks for sharing. Funny that it's come from over the pond? Needless top say Goldfinger I believe is from NY.
That Netflix article is interesting. It may be a possibility but can I mention that in the last couple of days I have heard from two different sources that US giant tech company Apple have had their slide rules out on ITV.
Maybe an empty rumour, but the same message came from two totally different contacts, both based in NY and both have never mentioned ITV to me before, in fact the only reason I have been researching, is it seems possible because of the interest suddenly surrounding the company. DYOR
"Liberum said one route would be for Netflix to buy content creators, with ITV standing out as an “obvious option” due to its substantial production arm, ITV Studios, and the UK’s reputation as a producer of high-quality media."
Content is king and ITV have plenty of it. Sit back and watch the bun fight commence.
