Morning dip followed by afternoon climb. 4 days in a row now.
3.3p to be paid 23rd of May. Ex dividend date of April 11th.
Can someone remind me what Dividend payment is please.
So it looks like we have only bought back about 5% and with approx £230m to spend on them at this rate it will take another few years for any benefit to shareholders.
If ITV want to pass on any benefit they should just go and buy a few hundred mil in one go now while the price is still low, because the longer they spread it out the higher the buying price will be. Just go in the market and buy at say 80p-£1 and be done with it.
Fingal are you Matthew on the other board or have just copied what he said?
With no more news forecast and the likelihood of the Dame going away on holiday for six months or so, when the buybacks cease will the SP resume the familiar downturn ?
“ITV and Deirdre and Scott Gurney have reached a settlement which resolves all claims and issues asserted in the litigation between them to their mutual satisfaction,” ITV said in a statement. “As part of the settlement, the Gurneys will sell their 38.5% stake in the company they founded, Gurney Productions, the company behind over 50 reality television shows including the hit series Duck Dynasty.

Tom, don't hesitate any longer; seize control of your dire circumstances and make a change, get out. Alternatively, man up, confront the situation head-on, average down and refrain from perpetuating misogyny to deflect responsibility, and silence the negativity.
WimbledonTom , the pattern is true but is down to how the buyback operates , namely volume. It can buy up to 25% of the order book volume , can’t lift offers. So based on a simplified view of trading volume , volumes pre the US open , ie 2:30 are 1/3 of the daily total , and that after the US opens (including the uncrossing) , with theUS to hold the hand of our market you see 2/3rds of daily volume. Why is this important? Well with little or no underlying volume in the morning , the buyback can have little to no effect, whereas in the afternoon (as it’s volumous) , means there is always an underlying buyer of up to 25% of the order book volume , thereby putting upward pressure on the stock. In short , buy ITV in the morning , and sell it in the afternoon. (Simplified f course as there will be days of a US sell off that will take everything down).
Once again
As I see Russian troll keeps duplicating his accounts. Apart from that, unfortunately, there is no point in discussing it with most people on this forum. Stooping to the level of thinking of a Russian troll would be stupid. I suggest turning on your thinking. If there are problems with this, just recalculate the balance of your own wallet. And look at the impact of the decisions you make based on the stupidities written by the trolls here. Maybe this will help and restore your thinking a little.

Starting to see a pattern. After 2pm each day this week the SP picks up. RNS that comes out at 5.30pm usually shows 500k+ shares purchased as part of the buyback.
OK so it looks like the SP isn't going to fall back to 71p ish so I just bought back another 15,000 to catch the rise to 75p-80p for the Divi.
Sod's law it will fall back more now.
It is the Dame. The moment she makes her exit from the stage the mood will lift at ITV and the Share Price will take off like a rocket.
Lol when I see your posts Tom I am not filled with enthusiasm. However when I ignore them then I do. Go figure.
I am a Long term Holder. Like Jed I do small trades that net me 1k to 2k here and there.
I want to build enthusiasm for ITV. For the Share Price to go back to the Crozier days of £2+.
Just no escaping the fact that the Dame has been abysmal. Worst thing that could happen to ITV and we the share holders and the ITV employees carry the cost of paying for this utter waste of space. How many suicides on her watch? She cannot even get safeguarding right. Too frightened by lawyers for sexual predators that she puts someone she knows to a real danger to ITV repitation back on air.
AGM she needs to go. Someone who brings Britbox deals to ITV every month. Buying and selling studios. Build them up and sell them to cash rich streamers.

Never mind Tom's rambling these state the facts. The dumb dame is totally useless. Her woke socialist career is the usual b**t. The BBC, Guardian, pure fluke at Easyjet and ruination of ITV all to push her virtual signalling social worker woke views. Like all the other charlatans who work for Stonewall, BLM, C4Calais and any of these money grabbing charities. It doesn't matter if the company goes down the toilet so long as the pension pot is safe when they recommend a deal when a Private Equity vulture comes along.
Classic bonus scheme that has no deliverables but pays out even when share price is going down. Remuneration committees came from Thatcher idea to pay directors more but that turned out to be just 2 sets of greedy, aren't we wonderful idiots. I got stung at Scottish Telcom/THUS plc many moons ago. I can see this going the same way.
The dame will ride to the rescue of a combined BBC/ITV socialist pravda state broadcaster funded by the government.
Sadly there are a lot of oldies on double pensions who still think they live in a socialist paradise and get there view of the world from the Grauniad, BBC, ITV and SKY news. And today's poor sad begger is.... and it's all the fault of the nasty upper class Tories😂
The end is nigh!! Feel better now must take my tablets and get some breakfast.
You don’t have to tell us what you want to do mate.
We LTH just want the SP to rise and we have suffered a lot. So, let’s all build some positive enthusiasm and hope SP hits £1.25 before ex dividend !!
All I have to say today is I want the SP to drop back to 71p so I can buy back the lot I sold .
Regardless of all the ranting for or against.
Every person on this forum is responsible for themselves not WimT. We all take our chances and make our decisions and live with the results. Only a fool would be influenced by an anonymous account without evidence ( as opposed to opinion that may inspire one’s own research ). I still think ITV would be better under new leadership and I’m not WimT under another account. Either way I’m too small an investor to influence the business model or other shareholders and I doubt the institutional investors take any notice of these postings
It's interesting how losers cite anything but their own failings. Change had to happen - some people will never accept that because they got caught in the crossover, tough luck.
But finally, the message is getting through to be wary of WimbledonTom's motives, aimed at impeding ITV's advancement. His persistent attacks on the CEO, are his primary tactic. He frequently adopts alternate pseudonyms. Those who recently sold their shares because they were influenced by his nonsense are no doubt regretting it.
Winstanley - it's hard to disagree with WimbleTom - the board under McCalls leadership have presided over a massive devaluation in the company.
I agree ITVX is encouraging but the company would have been better served with a more dynamic leadership team in place.
I'm all for breaking the business up. Maybe float the studio business but retain a 30% stake! Just an opinion - would add significant shareholder value.
I think that ITV ( the studios in particular) have a bright future if managed properly. I still hold and will hold on for a while yet as I see further rises but like WimbT I see this despite CEO & BoD not because of . Its not trolling, opinion or unfair criticism just look at their track record and SP for last 6 years !!! This company will do better under better more visionary and stronger leadership that said ITVX seems to be offering hope ( it just took too long to be out in place).
Winnie my persistent attacks on the CEO yet even the big funds who control ITV now agree. The useless waste of space that is Dame Carolyn McCall has had to take a cut to her remuneration.
6 years I have said she is not worth the money. Finally the message is getting through. £20million to wipe 7billion from the valuation of a company. Biggest joke in UK business world.
