Doesn't look like the share buy backs have started yet, time to get them moving IMHO.

At last on a serious march bring it on lets get our country back nothing need to be said
I'm afraid I'm with shorter Tom atm. The previous update was good and we fell back in low volume. Just because one short has fallen below the reporting threshold doesn't mean they aren't still active. We need a stream of good news.
We also deserve to be higher. Whether we get there soon is another matter. Patience is required.
I am so tempted to discuss the topic of our freedoms here in the UK, since you made a statement that is not a truth, but simply an opinion (that you are entitled to, of course) - however, as I am unsure of whether or not it would fall foul of the Online Safety Act, I will say nothing :)
In all seriousness, most of us are sympathetic to all the innocent lives being lost and the environment being destroyed, but must you continue on about the war so often?
Anyway, as for the SP here today: holding up well IMO in a market that is currently uneasy. GLA.
ITV US studios were hit by the strike last year. Will not be an issue this year.
One more comment about ITV price today...
The more one-week inwestors sell their shares today, the stronger price growth we will see by the the end of this week.
We should be in green on the end of today or have a little price drop,...
But like every time just my private point of view..
I made some comments about Ukraine and Putin aggression because my friends were killed over 2 years ago in Kiev. They were a lovely and peaceful family. They were kiled like thousands of innocent civilians in this war. Since this time I am trying to help my friends in this country. We send a money,we organize charity collections and we also buy military equipment. Each of us helps as best we can and as far as we can. There are many British people fighting at the front. And they sacrifice their lives just like others from all over the world who fight for the freedom of Ukraine. They are also fighting for our freedom here in the UK. It is worth understanding and remembering this.
This was done on the 1st March just in case anybody else who like me missed that announcement.
I made another small top up today. That give me nearly 250k shares on the both accounts....
Like said before: always happy to buy cheap shares, especially with this price which gives me extra + 4.75 % divi on 11th April.
I said it long time ago. I don't want to sell my ITV portfolio less than £1.50-2.00 depending if I find another cheap shares to buy (especially that I predict strong growth for ITV again in the next 2025 year). In my opinion I will get this price this year as we will see improvement in advertising business, interest rates cuts and growth in British economy after second half year (but I predict much more better than expected results on end of June, as same like a small interest rate cut before June 2024).
James Hands was 33, born in Barnstaple. Was a good man and soldier. Fight together with your friends not only from UK. Honor his memory.
Also a quick google search reveals nobody from Barnstaple died in Ukraine. Pogo is a bot pumping out false propaganda for Ukrainian nationalists. The same nationalists who butchered Jews and Polish people during WWII when they sided with the invading German forces against the Soviet Union. Traitors to their people.
I choose not to back either side. 500,000 dead and injured is too great a price for any cause. I do not support the starvation of Palestinians despite the war crimes of Hamas.
Anyway an interesting fact. If you put a Pogo post into Google translate and select "gibberish" it then translates into English and makes perfect sense.
Russian troll is back.....
In this place I would like to pay tribute to James "Joyce" from Barnstaple who fought for the freedom of Ukraine in the International Legion and was kiled last week also for us.
Money is not everything. let's remember this. SLAVA UKRAINE
70p is a good price? I think we have seen that this can fall back to 60p and for the last two years the share price has fallen after the results and ex divi day. Nothing much happens at ITV from March through to September and confidence drops in those quiet months.
Another top up made with good price
:)

No prob.
I described only one of the investment strategies commonly used by most institutional and individual investors. Many people here do not realize that opening short positions is often used to secure the portfolio they are building in shares. This is how I perceive those created by pension funds, also in terms of the period and share value valuations when they were created.
I used this strategy over 20 ago with good results, but I was younger and accepted more aggressive and much more risky strategies. At the moment this aggressive and risky are only up to 20% my portfolio.
Shares up again for me next week. Buyback , albeit very passive (& therefore a low % of the order book volume only) will help of course. 75p next Friday.
POG , I apologise if I came across too aggressively , but what you posted re pension funds and hedging via a short is simply not correct. In terms of building positions there are things in place in terms of disclosure limits. Starts at 3% , then goes up every 1% thereafter. Very difficult for a pension fund to hedge a long only portfolio, and they can’t short a share as part of that (as you claim).
77p

Always happy to read some opinions...
As I understand you know a lots (or nothing) of different investment strategies, but you never hear about securing position on the company's block of shares being built or one that is already held and a role of shorts positions. But doesn't matter. I opened this subject just to talk about next week ITV share's price predictions. Will be nice to hear about it...
It never amazes me how so much incorrect guff gets spouted on chat boards.
Pension funds are 99% long only , they can’t short. Within an organisation (such as blackrock or Schroders to pick a couple), have they started small hedge funds ? Yes they have. They have their own fund holders , their own rules. They are completely desperate to the long only finds. They are not , nor will they ever be a ‘hedge’ as Pog001 says. Totally incorrect. Finally , they are a tiny part of the hedge fund world. The vast majority of shorts are for negative purposes , ie they believe the shares will go down.
End of this week ITV share price was little under my 71-75p predictions. But if we are looking around full market £0.7064 is not so bad. Because of this and all of my private point of view on the world and UK share market (if we don't have any "black swan" in politics and both conflicts in Ukraine and Near East) I think that next Friday we should get share price not less than £80 pence, but I predict as much more possible target price between£0.85 to £0.95 pence.
I am not care about"shorts" made by pension funds. I wrote about before - as for myself they are buying ITV shares and "shorts" were "insurance policy"against accidental declines in the value of shares and relatively secured positions in the real portfolio of their purchases.
A couple of other pluses here I think are the state of the pension scheme and I think I’m right in saying there is still a licensing decision to be announced.
Great to have the 6 nations on terrestrial television hopefully some of the other national treasures might return. Really proud of England a really good effort no real deliberate foul play and really professional.
No they cannot buy shares from private investors investors. The rules are very strict as to what a corporate broker can do regarding a buyback. They are limited to a small % of the order book volume (so as not to affect the share price) , and are therefore extremely passive.
Basically Morgan Stanley will use a volume constrained algo to buy shares only on the order book.
I find it interesting that it appears they have made zero purchases.

I wrote about full reduction from 1.75 to 1.22 % in just a couple days. It's mean that we are talking a decrease about 21 million shares....
