A vile virus from another site has arrived on the ITV LSE Board
It is a sad day when this cretin tries to pollute this excellent site.
Name dropping is just not me, no offence.
I have been credited to the demise of Igas when many rampers
wanted to report me to the FCA when I was telling them the sahres were crap.
At the same time I was telling them that my posts may look negative and they were but they
were facts and that was important. The clowns said I was shorting Igas. I could
not shor an eltric cuirit never mids a share.
ATM I is not gambling in itv but looking out for a quick kill.
I recently returned to the direct stock market and gambling in
SAGA another **** share like itv
Free tip - never fall in love with a share price, fact!
Never sit on your hands linke a headless turkey.
Common sensse tips - most share forums will be making
good nosises re shares and anyone that begs to differ will be abused etc. So keep an open
mind only gamble what you can risk to lose and it could be all, or good as
all look at Igas, Thomas Cook, and og, i had a lot of trouble in the defunked Flow group
and got seriously abuse there as well but as i predicted the shares went belly up.
ITV im is a pure gamble and it will never be waht it was becsue of the rerentless competion
growing by the second. I told others that ETO would be bought out before itv was going to buy got greedt
and was wating for it to come down then the bid and i told them that no second bit
Britbox is a joke, trust me
Do you guys recall itv's spend of 500 million equal to about 800 million today onFriends reunited or something, went belly up as itv got ZERO back.
With itv the only way you lot will get 180/190 is via a bid as companies pay over the top and regret it just like itv bought tha freinds uninted. Alternatively if shares test one quid again, then a break up speacilist may pay 160/170 for it and break up value 180/190. Otheriwse sp will drift towards one quid again I got serious abuse on another forum for predicting the 1 quid rest is history
However, your choice your money, be wise and not a leeming
Disney + bags 10 million subscribers on first day
Will launch in UK next year at £5.40 per month
Hi Cautious..... Other than yourself, who is it who regards you as being "well respected"? Lol
Thanks the 2 million you refer to, is that in 3021?
What about the all important UK figures??
Did you read the BBC chiefs comments about the
Britbox and if so why did he hold out no hope for it?
First and foremost, please welcome me who is a well-respected blogger from another shares forum.
FYI, I'm upfront, honest and not one of those that ramps/deramps but then sell, buy or add on the quiet and
not mention it on the forum.
I hold out no hope whatsoever re Britbox and that's a fact.
Broker comment, a broker I respect as far as brokers go.
A copy from my post on another site. Importantly, I use the same name here and there, fact.
Respected brokers have little faith in Britbox just like me. Looks like I was the first to trash Britbox and everyone else appears to be joining me inc the BBC chief
who are partners in Britbox and that's saying something
(NB: Please advise if I can post link to source )
Berenberg(Sharecast News) - Anylsts at Berenberg reiterated their 'hold' rating on ITV on Wednesday, stating the group appeared to be 'robbing Peter to pay Paul'.
Berenberg highlighted that its analysts continued to believe that ITV's BritBox video-on-demand service was "too little, too late" and that choosing a pay-VOD monetisation created "fundamental conflicts" with the strategy of maximising a free-to-air audience.
Elsewhere, Berenberg noted the phasing of some European qualifying matches for the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship would now fall into 2020, rather than 2019, which meant 2019 would benefit from lower programming costs.
"Again, this is good news for 2019 numbers, but it means 2020 will be negatively affected by the £10m slippage. So while 2019 numbers could be upgraded, 2020 will witness 3-4% cuts versus consensus, we think," concluded Berenberg, which also stood by its 125p target price on ITV.

Britbox has 650,000 subscribers in US per latest figures
ITV hope to drive these numbers to 2m once content is enhanced next year per my sources
Thanks for that Dallo we seem to br getting a very assorted selection of points of veiw at present .
“So 9.5 mln subscribers at £599 per month = £682.89mln Britbox profit
ITV 90% shareholding of Britbox = £614.574mln profit“
Wow, your calculator is too bullish.
Really impressed with Disney, ITV chose to gamble on pure “Brit” content which is so niche and the focus market is even smaller. If britbox is not global then it will close within 2 years, the Dame will follow britbox into history.
Wait until tomorrow, Britbox and New Order will be all over the adverts during the football coverage tonight and whilst it may not be Monday tomorrow, it could well be a Blue Friday !!
No figures available as yet.
I suspect ITV will start publishing subscriber numbers on a quarterly basis starting next year when Britbox starts to roll out in earnest.
Moodys state that Netflix will be cash positive in 5 years time.
Something to look forward to.
Correct me if I am wrong about a week ago not long after the launch did I not read that There were 30000 subscribers up to now and going up wich I do not think is to bad?
"All of Netflix revenues are absorbed by content costs and debt repayments and it has still to make a profit and likely never will."
Dallo, you just hit the nail on the head.
Netflix with a sky high PE, against ITV with a low PE......... I know which company I would rather have my hard earned invested in. With Britbox being written off before it's even started by the so called expert, Britbox has nothing to lose, and everything to gain. I'm quietly confident about our Britbox prospects.
Perhaps Ms Simon needs to get out a bit more?
Over two decades now since I had enjoyed similar title in WC1, but how can a share @ £1.3263 when the Note was released be a hold in real life even with dividends if she genuinely thinks it will be £1.25 in 12 months' time? Sell too high-profile and liable to be wrong via upside surprise perhaps? Is she expecting the market overall to do the same thus ITV no better or worse? Any interested parties influencing the emphasis? Never mind SDN, why no mention of debt rates and levels and choice of borrowing currency working well now and explaining any hedging?
A J Bell had some analysis which IIRC meant that the consensus figures and their direction mean a lot more over time than the individual recommendations, and I've find that helpful in general terms and that should be true with ITV. After all, take out the cash specifices and 100% strong buys can only get altered in one direction......
Welcome Figgsey, yep markets are really annoying when they do that to you without a new public shorter in sight, reasonably confident you've made a good choice. I've put my transactions in older postings and they average higher after divis, part of diversified longer-term investing I guess and ITV isn't one that gives me sleepless nights. Former DCG.L was a lower-profile UK equivalent in a very different sector but I averaged down a lot there and there was a very happy ending :-)
I was just thinking that too. Good luck out there.
And very refreshing, keep it coming team.
All week the volume on each day has been averaging around 20m shares and here we are today just shy of 3m traded and the price hardly budging.
Lets see what the afternoon brings.
Flights of fantasy Part 2
Given that Britbox has been written off by almost all of the investment community even before it is even launched properly any positive news on subscriber numbers could jolt the share price forward.
As investors we better get used to the subscriber numbers updates over the next year or so as with Netflix investors.
Given the vast content libraries of BBC, ITV , C4 and many others yet to sign up , a large % of total revenues will go to the bottom line not withstanding the cost of new content.
All of Netflix revenues are absorbed by content costs and debt repayments and it has still to make a profit and likely never will.
We are on now on subscriber numbers watch like
Netflix but without the market pressure given the almost zero expectations on Britbox.
Well yesterday I became the proud owner of ITV even though I 0am 6.1% down. I was itching to buy and intend to keep for beyond my wretched life. But I will never suss out how trading near/on a news day works. I always get it wrong. Look at TW too. Is bizarre that the price is down so much on good news.
Flights of fantasy Part 1
What if Britbox is a huge success and has 20 m subscribers in the 2/3 years.
That would mean £1.2 billion in annual revenues
for ITV and a potential market cap of £20 billion
for ITV based on conservative P/E ratios.
Nurse he is out of his bed again......call Matron.
You never know
To re-enforce my point about 2/3 companies eventually dominating the content business Disney + signed up 10 million subscribers in the first day of launch yesterday.
there was no live football before Sky???
"You are assuming that xxx million people would be prepared to pay for something that they have never had to pay for before?"
The same could be said before SKY came along with live football.
"Also from a BBC perspective, people would be prepared to pay over and above what they are currently paying via the TV licence?"
All subscription channels ie SKY have to purchase a TV license to view their subscription channel.
Britbox at a price of only £1.50p per week I would think that a majority of soap fans would pay for it. I know that my wife would. I can hear the arguments now between couples, you have your football, and I'm having my soaps.
What was it that Carolyn McCall said shortly after being appointed the new ITV CEO, the time for something for nothing has gone.
Time will tell.
Britbox has over 500,000 subscribers in the US and is growing.
Britbox has done deals with BT, Freeview and Youview and it is only a matter of time before Virgin Media signs up .
Telcos and cable companies are key to streaming as your Smart TV has an embedded button on your remote control to directly to Netflix, Google etc.
Samsung has signed up to include Britbox in its smart TVs.
The UK is insisting that all smart TV producers follow suit and legislation is in train apparently.
This is to level the playing field in the UK where Netflix is now on most Smart TV remote controls.
I have a Sony Smart TV with a designated Netflix and Google play button on remote.
Other deals are in the pipeline following C4 and dont forget the Global market potential particularly Ireland, Australia, New Zealand,et al
Britbox will be a niche streamer and only needs 5 million + subscribers to add huge value to ITV.
Thats assuming that one of the big players dont pounce first in the escalating content war.
When the dust eventually settles there will only be 2 or 3 players controlling the Global content market imho.
... is unsustainable... just a matter of time and it will be 'ditched'' imo
