Bilbo, charging car as we speak but no way of powering the house back from it until V2G made available, currently software only built for CHAdeMO I think ~ Nissan leaf, Mits Outlander etc Not for CCS or Type2 I think ?
I've wondered about using the car as an excess energy store " vehicle". Any experience?
Thanks both, Bellers I know the feeling, I'm trying to cut back on storing in the loft and we get a mice problem here esp in the winter when they come in off the fields so I'm constantly having to trap them, in the past they've chewed twin & earth and had a go at JG pipes too so anything up there gets ruined.
tiqtiq, thanks for the info, was just wondering if EON were using GivEnergy, I here their kit is very good. I'm gathering info trying to sell the solar/battery storage idea to friends but they seem quite opposed to saving money, they think there has to be a catch which of course there isn't.
Your ASHP sounds interesting, think we'll do the same at some point, shame theres no way of storing excess solar in the summer to run the house in twinter. We have battery/solar also and have the immersun which works really well .so just paying the standing charge in summer, with Octopus atm (no problems) would be good to cut the umbilical and go off grid but would frighten my missus to death.
Hi taskmaster, don't know if it's relevant but My installation is SMA Sunny Boy, AC coupled Inverter. Recently installed a 12Kw ASHP so also installed an iBoost system which intercepts the exported electricity to heat Domestic Hot Water - provides a substantial saving over the summer months!
Sorry taskmaster. Clueless on that. It’s all in the loft and now buried in an avalanche of boxes, books, old stuff and Christmas ****e. Before you order you get a chat on the internet. They’ll probably know. I never asked anything except how much will I save.
Bellers, whose kit did EON supply ~ battery, inverter was it AC coupled or Hybrid ?
Best Friday I've seen for a long time.
South Yorkshire’s new Mayor will be visiting ITM in the near future to gain info for his cleaner South Yorkshire. Can’t be too soon. It stinks of diesel around Sheffield.
Google tells me that the largest Fuel cell is a mere 78MW (mega... but good old Aberdeen is getting excited by kW) but https://www.aninews.in/news/world/asia/worlds-largest-hydrogen-fuel-cell-power-plant-was-built-in-korea20211027162812/ but I've not been and it is very far away.... "there be dragons"
goodness knows what Kw means ... Kelvin www?
Anyway, yes https://www.bighit.eu/hydrogen-fuel-cell the fuel cell is 75kW and is made up of three fuel cells each rated at ....... 25kW. Since 2017.
Interestingly Aberdeen council must have heard of Orkney as there is a ferry that goes there and back most days so Aberdeen dock will get a birthing fee and hence the council actually get money from the distant island that is part of Scotland.
Just as an aside, I was on Orkney once when I helped a German with a telephone call about her broken down rental car from Edinburgh. She spoke excellent English but struggled to explain to the numpty where Orkney was.. The SNP have more problems on their hands than they know.
Perhaps "first of its size" ie 25Kw ....Kirkwall hold the WBA belt for a 75kW ?
"The generator, believed to be the first of its size deployed in the UK,"
Better not tell Kirkwall council who operate a 75kW unit on the docks to power local ships and the general equipment in dock.
A hydrogen-power 25kW energy generator is being trialled by hydrogen start-up company Hydrologiq at the ACHES (Aberdeen City Hydrogen Energy Storage) site, in partnership with Aberdeen City Council and Norco Energy.
