That’s as maybe Gotrader.
But markets aren’t forward-looking by 2 or 3 years. In fact, I don’t buy the argument they’re really forward-looking at all. And even if they were, there have just been too many black swan events recently which have thrown things off course. And I suspect these are set to continue. After all, how many analysts saw Covid coming? Or Putin’s invasion of Ukraine? Or Hamas’ incursion?
IQE may well be lining up several large orders which will start bearing fruit in 2025/6. But there’ll still be some pretty dismal figures in their results ahead of that. Which is why I’d wager the share price will dip below 20p again in the interim, even if it eventually rises well above this level. And why I wouldn’t even begin to add to my already decent holding unless we got a dip below 12p.
I may be wrong. But I was told by several posters on IQE boards I was wrong when I said the 20p placing price wouldn’t be the trough. And on that occasion at least, I was proved correct.
I think Canaccord are happy to mop up shares at 20p. Their average is much much higher. I think they take view sales will take off in next few years. Right people coming. They are likely ignoring current sales. Hardly matters if huge orders are being lined up. Ofc they got it wrong before. However CEO is so confident here. Sales hopefully slightly ahead. However it's what happens in 2-3 years that matter. Wouldn't be shocked if we get another holding RNS from Canaccord in next few months.
Hello Gotrader,
Interested to hear your thoughts on this also as i have been following your recent research and posts with a lot of interest. It seems like this is only going one way with the support resistance increasing on a daily basis. Are Canaccord still buying ? How do you see this playing out, many thanks.
Do you see more upside to this stock in the coming months
Hi what’s anyone’s thoughts on there this could go to please
Nice little rally, sector looking good at the moment
The edge fund with the short position on this stock short it down to 15 or 10 or shut your short because it is pathetic
Someone fired off nearly 23 trades at 16.29 and likely did the 2 large buys at end of play too. What this tells us is Cannacord will have 10m trades or so in next few days.
Stoater - I do always try to remain civil when positing. But sometimes one's patience is stretched to the limit by a cracked record that likes the sound of its own voice.
I've no idea whether GoTrader has "called it right on almost every change of direction". But if so, I very much doubt it'll have anything whatsoever to do with their daily running commentary about who may have bought or sold.
In my opinion, it really is EXTREMELY tedious & tells us precisely nothing. But if you find it helpful, then I'm very pleased for you.
Thankyou Stoater. I do like my details. Right now the buy/sell detail here is wrong as the time stamps are the same for 4-5 recent trades and pretty sure they are all buys. So I assume Canaccord fund responsible. I have watched Hales Hargreaves trades before so have some experience. If I had seen this at 14-15p I would of bought. Now were back to market value. Even Canaccord won't over pay here.
Will be nice when major shareholders page gets updated. Maybe we see that In December. I suspect lots of changes still going on here.
Lordl, we should respect each others comments and opinions as long as they are not abusive or insulting.
Gotrader has been following IQE for much longer than most people on here and he has called it right on almost every change of direction using his/her analytical skill set.
I would be a much richer person right now if I had acted on Gotraders opinions in the last 7 or 8 years.
We all have different things that we focus on regarding our research and investment strategy….just value the difference, we are all trying to help each other here.
Talk about being obsessed with the irrelevant.
Think Cannacord still buying as the usual 3-6 trades all with the same time stamp. Already up to 1.1m.
NVIDIA (NVDA) has launched its next-generation of AI supercomputer chips that will likely play a large role in future breakthroughs in deep learning and large language models (LLMs) like OpenAI's GPT-4, the company announced. The technology represents a significant leap over the last generation and is poised to be used in data centers and supercomputers — working on tasks like weather and climate prediction, drug discovery, quantum computing and more.
My view is trading is still as expected and they are likely not talking to any firms about a major deal. CEO just seeing a share under valued and buying in. I think Canaccord are taking out sellers. Is this Invesco or is there other funds selling here?
If there was a trading update next week announcing huge new influx of orders I might agree. I don't think financially much has changed. Canaccord clearly have high expectations here and are happy to mop up sold stock. They have got it wrong before. At some point canaccord will stop buying. What is their aim? 20%?
I will be buying if they is a dip as well as the ceo
Hi what’s everyone thinking on the large insider trading by ceo ?
Maybe these are the reverse trades?
Two chunky 5,487,552 trades showing from this morning totalling £2M. Volume seems to be increasing.
Gotrader - I don’t give a monkeys what Canaccord may or may not be doing.
Fact is, nothing’s likely to improve IQE’s outlook significantly for at least the next 6-9 months. So why on earth buy yet (unless your name’s Canaccord of course)?
I think part of their hopes are for the rise in the use of 5g which has been slower than expected what with COVID, wars etc. like many shares patience is a virtue!! Any 5g experts out there?
He lurks on ADVFN forum.
Thank you very much Lodr---I sold 50 000 shares this morning with a very small profit and will wait for and if opportunity comes
Sweenoid!
Whatever happened to the sweeties. He was the go to guru last time I was invested here
