Being a fairly sheltered spot off the coast at Bangor (NI) or Ballyholme, its a popular anchorage for the bigger ships and tankers prior to coming into Belfast port. As Tango said, it's maybe waiting for the other girls.
There's no way it would be coming into Bangor itself as there's no facilities there capable to handle a big article like Viking Sun.
She'll create a bit of interest if anchored there as the anchorages are fairly close to shore and viewable along quite a long stretch of coastline there.
No Idea, just trying to understand why they would circle for 2 days? I got no other reason and fuel does weigh heavy.
Carnival Magic has just been doing massive circles for the last two days off Truro, maybe burning the fuel off before dry docking? must be costing them a fortune..
Well it states Bangor on it's destination but close enough, probably wait there for it's sisters :-)
Looks like Viking sun is on it's way back..
Whatamess- I posted that yesterday but it could be a week each- that IS several weeks. but the link to the H&W twitter feed yesterday stipulated Europe was getting ready to leave and the three cruise liners were still their. Must have been confused or something as Europe's gone nowhere other than further down the Bed.
Only Viking Sun has left. It is now just west of the Isle of Man. Both Viking Sea and Viking Sky remain. Stena Europe is in the dock.
Hi whatamess - I agree looking at the current ship positions both ships are outside the dock we wait and see but clearly one is now in dock.
Marine82, it is in the financials section of the Cenkos research note (link on a different feed). Given we’ve just seen a new contract won at £2.5m along with the activity earlier this year projected at £2m (based on the number of vessels announced at £2.5m), then add in the obscene numbers when you move from Ferries to Cruise ships, I’m very confident we will hit breakeven.
If this figure of £700k a month is accurate then we may have to raise more funds in the immediate future. Those sort of overheads equate to at least a turnover of £15-£20M to be in the black. How have you arrived at this figure?
Cenkos broker note Droderick
The 700k per month is the cash running costs Of H&W. More than half of this is for labour. Also included are maintenance capex, rent and a variety of other costs including utilities, business rates, insurance, and site security.
Where did you get the 700k per month number from Spud?
Spud. This was posted on twitter yet the account owner is blocked from trying to follow you. No idea why
Asking for a friend
From the posts today it would seem some decent value work going through the yard.
At £700k per month overheads it is of course needed
Spud ..by far the best picture /photo opportunity shot of at least two Vikings yet ..well done,Sir !!
