Jabido Thanks for the link in your 18.38 post. BAB better hope that Mr Wallace gets moved in the next reshuffle. At today's hearing he said that he expects vessels to be delivered on time. So if BAB takes on too much work they might find the MoD may not be as understanding as in the past.
Hi Stokey hopefully this link works..
https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/bab****-to-enhance-ukrainian-naval-capabilities/
UK defence journal and navy lookout are well worth a follow on Twitter. I too hoped the Ukrainian builds could come our way but it's not looking great
Jabido In relation to your 16.26 post BAB are so heavily involved in the Type 26 and the Type 31 I would be surprised if they would have the capacity to take on another large order. Also the Ukranian order would be a good opportunity to show that he does intend to spread the work around.
In other news the Defence Select Committee will be having an Oral Evidence Session in relation to its Inquiry Navy purpose and Procurement Next Tuesday. The timetable for witnesses can be found here https://committees.parliament.uk/event/5026/formal-meeting-oral-evidence-session/ I note that BAB, BAe and Thales are all giving evidence but INFA is not. I might check to see if they will be giving oral evidence.
Thanks for the video link and comments chaps
It's coming but not soon enough, I fear.
JW... prove me wrong please
I have now listened to the above chaired by the very capable Tobias Ellwood MP & have concluded that in the mid term H&W & Appledore will play its part in supporting the building programme of the Ministry of Defence. However in the near term i.e. this year that will not be the case.INFA is a very frustrating investment & I like may others are disappointed as to where we think we are today as shown by the current SP.I only hope the next update will be more positive in terms of things happening not just where the projected pipeline is !!!
Sorry, thanks to Chris too :)
Sorry to put a downer on such a positive ;) day...the Ukraine boats are being built by Bab****. At least we got a mention by the shipping tsar, thanks for sharing Stokey

Share prices ebb and flow. That is what makes people like Warren Buffet, very rich. He says, when all around you are losing their heads, invest. So what if there is a shorter. So what if we have to wait a little longer for good news. I still believe the future is rosy. The current fall in price is still above the low (20p) set in April last year. I have added on every 2p decline since taking up the placing rights. It will improve, in time. These sell offs are what make the real bucks if you are prepared to go against all the...woe is me.
Hi stokey12 - I am also listening to the above hearing & noted that the minister of defence was pleased that H&W added Appledore also that he had been arranging or has arranged to meet up with the CEO of Harland & Wolff.Link below:

I also feel completely shafted Radders following the heady days of that London presentation. However will see it through
It all just feels very strange - a couple of years ago it was all positive - good news flow and share price reacted positively. Decent contracts appear to have been delivered but the air is slowly going out of the balloon. There appears to be a shorter and I really hope they get burnt big time soon :)
I am just listening to the Defence Secretary before the Defence Select Committee I will upload a recording of it later today after the hearing finishes. He did state that the contract for the Ukrainian Navy ships was signed yesterday. The ships will be built in the UK. Will be interested to see which shipyard gets the work. James Spellar and Gavin Robinson gave him some rough questioning about shipbuilding. There was also some questioning over the new National Flagship.
one would assume if there was anything significant looming in terms of contracts they wouldn’t have been buying shares. Can only hope that Poots feels it’s politically beneficial to approve the ML. I feel completely shafted at the moment having piled in a significant amount into my SIPP on the back of the 1.6m contract not believing it would drop like a stone after that .. we live in hope !
projectx In relation to your 10.32 post we are due an update by next week Wednesday. It would need to be a good one rather than just promising more jam tomorrow. We should hear about the Triumph Subsea Services LOI, however, going by what was said at the last roadshow and the recent directors purchases I am not holding my breath for anything positive.
It's a fair point regarding JW's lack of communication. LinkedIn has been fairly quiet across the H&W, Infrastrata and JW accounts.
Sad to read people considering their investments here, but equally I am in that boat too. A 50% fall in 6 months is unfortunately really not good enough, and nearly 10% this week alone. Need some positive newflow ASAP, including the govt turning thier words into solid actions for a change
Chris, I emailed DAERA a couple months back, they said the decision is now in the hands of Mr Poots. I then contacted his office who explained that there is much to sift through and we will know when we know. Fact is it shouldn't be taking this long - NI isn't seemingly in favour of economic progress. Some say never invest in Africa, I'm starting to think the same about Northern Ireland! And while we wait the sp reaches lower lows, the only thing preventing me from selling big chunks of my holding is a potential bounce in sp when revenue start's coming in from the wind farm work. In all honesty I am feeling like for whatever reasons h&w are missing out on a lot of their targeted pipeline (why is Belfast so empty after 20 months since purchase?) and I'm reassessing my investment here sadly
Mr Wood used to provide updates on a regular basis - his silence is deafening recently
The primary purpose of a business is to maximize profits for its owners or stakeholders while maintaining corporate social responsibility. Clearly, despite promises and pipeline and whatever else, the BoDs is failing in their primary purpose. Either it is their ability, the market conditions, poor communication and investor relations, perception, strategy or a combination of such factors. No matter which way you slice it the primary purpose is not being met - easily measured by the share price. No more excuses and stories please.
Agree ,need news imho
Si, I agree with you, there is a nasty smell about this. Push down the SP, the next thing we see is a pathetically low bid for the business with a nice offer to the BoD, leaving the loyal shareholders screwed
Large cruise ship moored in belfast atm. Probably not connected but there you have it .
The East - I am also loosing patience & is why I have e-mailed daera-ni yesterday to try & find out where are with the ML.I am still hoping for an update this month & on other matters.
Morning All,
Pathetic performance by the SP. BOD need to buck their ideas up, losing faith and patience with this now
