just a little snippet to show in what a dire situation uk really is compared to to others
Natural gas is used to heat about 80 percent of Britain’s homes, fuels as much as half of the country’s electricity generation at times and is vital for several industries such as ceramics and chemicals.
Britain’s storage levels, however, are well below most European countries. Germany has the largest capacity with some 24 billion cubic meters, 17 times that of Britain, while other European countries such as Italy keep strategic gas reserves.

"Global gas demand would increase by 1.6 percent a year to 2040 and would be 45 percent higher by then than today, it said."
Then add in European security of gas supply issues

Infa right place, right time
Busy buying;-)
Where is everyone today ?
Some men in islandmagee
Wanted to store gas under the sea
After a session at the tavern
They built a salt cavern
And now can lease for a fee.
My mooring lines sing with pain,
Release me from my tether,
For captain Wood,
Beneath his hood,
Sea's perfect sailing weather.
Welcome back mcadder.
no harm in writing to The Rt Hon Claire Perry M.P., minister for energy, as worried citizen about energy storage as I did lol

The UK government needs to act to support the building of new gas storage projects in the country or face growing price volatility and the risk of shortages, a leading consultancy has warned, adding to a chorus of voices questioning the country’s lack of storage capacity.
“Any additional storage would be a welcome addition to the UK gas market during these uncertain times, giving some assurances to the wider population that energy security is taken seriously,” said Mr Freedman.
One would hope Malcy knows what he's talking about. Hopefully my %age of Infa will present some surprises

On Malcys blog he said that if a facility like Islandmagee existed earlier in the year when gas prices quadrupled at winter's coldest, over those 2 days the price achieved to inject gas into the grid, would have covered costs for the remainder of the year. Mind boggles

Starting to get more interest on Twitter. I like the afternoon strength here. Bodes well for the next few RNSs if this can be sustained on a quiet day in the markets.

Delay after delay with that project
spud, this is O&W rapidly bringing himself up to speed on the competing Halite Pressall gas storage project, which is running behind schedule and into determined environmental opposition.
