From a post earlier today we've learned that a 50m+ vessel, Sand Snipe is in Appledore. The H & W twitter page simply referred to having a paint job being done on it, but apparently there's more work than that being done. There's comments now on the actual post that it's also had 'new hold bhd, some shell replacement, new genset & exhaust, new shaft bearings & seals, new rudder shaft bearings plus a range of emergent work'.
Obviously I don't expect H & W / Infa to detail every single task completed on a job, but this was good to get some more meat put on the bones of what Sand Snipe is having done (albeit that this info didn't come directly from the company).
It got me thinking though. Surely there are some H & W workers or sub contractors on this forum page ?
Now if you are, it would be great to get some meat of yas, as to what's actually happening on the shop floor these days as we're not getting much info from Infa. I wouldn't obviously expect you to divulge any sensitive information or put any job at risk by talking here but It would be good to know what's happening. This info could be posted as from yourself or if you preferred, along the lines of :-
My mate tells me the Appledore yard has a new boat in. It's . . . .
A cousin works in the Methil yard and says those jackets are well advanced in the assembly. . .
The Belfast lads i believe are keeping that new welding machine busy on . . . .
Go on folks, who knows what's happening behind those shipyard doors ? Are the guys on the ground busy or otherwise ?
Si_Derman Ref 12.53 post Thanks for that sounds lie a good contact to cultivate. Hopefully it will lead to some more substantial work.
I'm not going to start copying your MO, Stokey. lol
But... It was in regards to the company of the person that responded to your comment on Twitter.
One Dave Price and Offshore Ship Designers.
Si_Derman ref 12.36 post Sorry must be the heat getting to my last two working brain cells but who are you referring to in this post.
BTW, They have an offices in the Netherllands, Dundee and....... in Bideford. :)
Chrisatrdg ref 11.40 post I was just going to post a link to this. The response to this reply was to note that nothing was said about its arrival. Does anyone know how much this work plus the paint job would have cost.
(edited)
Was the Sand Snipe only in for the paint job?

'No, new hold bhd, some shell replacement, new genset & exhaust, new shaft bearings & seals, new rudder shaft bearings plus a range of emergent work.'
Edit: That will add to this months turnover all good !!!!!!
Seatruck Panorama has left Dock looks like it was only in for an oil change

I am not sure what work is being done on the Azura but the Chemicals/Oil Products tanker Coralwater is visiting the SRQ on the 23 July. This would be the second visit in a month if I recall correctly. There will as far as I know based on current information any other ships in the drydock or the building dock.
TheEast Ref 09.28 post This has not been the only work done at Appledore but information is scarce. Information appears to mainly be given about what is going on in Belfast.
Excellent. A weekends worth of painting work for what, the last 3momths!??!

Saw this on the H&W Twitter feed https://twitter.com/Harland_Wolff1/status/1417023872545787909 has someone been talking to the PR Department. They did not say anything when it first arrived assuming it did not arrive this weekend.
LSE's trade data is not that good at the best of times. Usually have to press reload a few times to get it to update.
Not a clue ,seems same on a few other shares
What are all the trade been reported this morning. Apr, May, June, July. ?
1 been for a 1000000 @ 309K ?
Ivan's it's sounds like a tide table lol,!!:)
remember, the rapid it falls, the rapid it will rise.
AIM poorly performance last few months and INFA no different.
value or not , i think this can bounce back up soon enough just on sentiment
Chrisatrdg ref 21.07 post see my 18.51 post from the 14 July. I am not sure why the Azura remains in the SRQ but there is no current indication that it will be moving to either BDD or BBD during the next 7 days. All I can presume is that whatever is being done can be done from the facilities on the SRQ.
Somewhat surprised but today Seatruck Panorama docked this evening in the smaller of the two docks while Azura stands outside waiting for what ?

And on what derelict land ?????,DYOR,oooh 500/1000 apprenticeships in Barrow other Infra yards maybe hmmmmm!:):)
Setanta1,
Thanks for the sentiment! To confirm, the figures I quoted were peak to trough; my loss currently sits at around a quarter of that number. Oh how I rue the day that I did not press the "sell" button for a £70k+ profit...Ironically, I started out trading this share and doing nicely, but bought into the IM narrative when AR was appointed, based on his background at Humbly Grove.
I fully endorse Spud's philosophy of buying the management of these small-cap companies (whoops!); to my shame, I did not initially pick up on JW's disgraceful history as a phoenix - had I done so, I would have sold out immediately, at evens.
Something I learned during my visit to Belfast was the H&W has effectively gone bust and required bailing out several times, not just once. I maintain that the yard will never turn a profit, unless someone can convince me of the special sauce that JW possesses - I have been asking this question for 18 months, to be met with silence from the rampers and insiders. I am not after the recipe, just a taste...
Spud have a read of this
