The following is a text from the Interim Head of Marketing and Communictions at INFA in response to an email from me about a trading update.
'Thank you for your email.
We normally issue a detailed trading update twice a year; once on the close of the half year on 31 January and the other at the time of announcement of the annual results on closing of the accounts at 31 July each year.
We are now in the process of completing our annual report which will contain a detailed trading update. An announcement on the annual results together with a trading update will be made as soon as they have been finalised and signed off by the auditors and the Board of Directors.'
I think that is a polite no to any trading update before the annual report. I am likely to come back to this at the AGM.
There are 11 members on the Defence Committee. One of these is politician Gavin Robinson (DUP). It was Mr Robinson who raised the question last week to Boris in PM's questions about Harland and Wolff and the position they're in with Belfast and Appledore yards to assist the country going forward.
The relevance of this post is that Mr Robinson's constituency is East Belfast where H & W is based and he has consistently beat the drum promoting H & W over the years. He's a very articulate speaker (barrister by profession) and in my opinion a very good representative to fight for the naval defence contracts to stay in the UK.
He was very verbal and supportive to the H & W workers when the yard was in administration prior to INFA taking them over in November 2019 and is very well respected in East Belfast and H & W for this reason. (I'm talking from local knowledge having been born and brought up less than 10 miles from the Yard and having family still living in the East).
In my opinion he will be very much promoting UK jobs for UK naval contracts and doing absolutely everything he can to ensure H & W is involved. In summary, a good individual to have his voice heard on the Defence Committee.
The hearing does not start until 2.30 and the witnesses that relate to shipping are in the second group so probably will be on from about 3.30.

Edit: They may discuss shipping
If it is a decent sized job then there needs to be space as the Stena Superfast VIII and Stena Superfast VII are due into the dry dock now that the first Stena has departed.
Has been loaded at the back of the building dock, maybe we are making room for another....
ML Soon me thinks!
OCEANEX CONNAIGRA finally moving into the main dry dock as I post.

Morning Chris, Yes same here (Halifax) max £500 sell. Not going anywhere soon though ;)
Hi All,
Last time I tried a 'Dummy Sell' I was unable to anyone else finding this. Currently showing as 'Strong Buy'.
Excellent news, let's get a good workforce in and training/apprenticeships for the youngsters. The work will follow!!
Just seen this I do not believe this has been posted already https://www.business-live.co.uk/economic-development/350-workers-wanted-revived-appledore-18877530 as Loosegoose said in his 20.54 post from Thursday this level of activity would only be done if there was some degree of confidence that there will be the work for them.
Setanta let's not be unfair, none of us can control the SP. And it is undoubtedly the truth that this company is now in a much better position, based on fundamentals, that it has ever been.
A Blank Link.....
You're quite right Speedy. The SP was .65p at the time of the Requisition. That's 65p in todays consolidated price! I have greatly reduced my holding in INFA as I came to consider the opportunity cost wasn't worth the waiting. But, sadly, when I read Dana's ramp on his current favourite it brought back memories of what we were fed before the requisitioning. Water under the bridge now I guess!
I understood that after Stena Scotia left then the Oceania Connaigra would move around and replace it in the dock.
Brilliant action reporting by T1, keep it coming please!
Looks like Stena Scotia is being moved out of the building dock (Tug in there).
Setanta. Actually the SP was around 50% higher than today when AP (DW) took over. Perhaps he's feeling a little apologetic and trying to ease the LTH's suffering??
Twenty posts today to ramp one share,( and it ain't INFA). Disingenuous stuff. And the INFA sp today is where it was when you organised the coup d'etat. So spare a thought for the many investors who lost a fortune during you sad residence here!
Chris, I read Dana's post and was confused by it at first. If indeed it's true as you suggest he was in no small part responsible for the turnaround, then thanks for making that clear for me. It would seem we also owe the man himself a large measure of thanks!
Does anyone know how are revenues split between the members of Team resolute. I note that if they win the FSS contract it will be built at Harland and Wolff does that mean that INFA will get the majority of the revenues?
Yes ..agreed ..if it wasn't for you interfering in your own positive way and bringing JW & Co on board then Infa probably would no longer exist now ...and we would have nothing at all to look forward to ..so there !!
Hi danawinner - Just to say thanks for all your hard work in the early days when we were in the last chance saloon & hopefully we now have a secure & prosperous future for INFA.
Have a look at the CFO's profile it makes interesting reading. A very interesting skill set to go for in your CFO I wonder why they would need somebody with that particular skill set.
Regarding Navy contracts, they have already got a taste of the constant delays Babcooks have delivered with their contracts, So if I were the UK Gov I would definitely try someone else and also stick to UK Built. One thing for sure once this starts moving we will need a red cape to control the Bulls.
