UK defence secretary Ben Wallace calling the FSS's 'warships' is a great boost to UK ship building. Being classed as warships they have to be built in the UK.
For INFA (and Team Resolute) , a very encouraging comment from the defence secretary yesterday in Parliament was 'We intend to encourage international partners to work alongside UK firms to bid, which will build on the success of Type 31' .
The below link is from Naval Technology and makes interesting reading. My thoughts are that it's only down to 2 bidders for competition to gain this contract. The Bab****/BAE/CL/RR consortium and Team Resolute (with INFA).

As whatamess quite rightly reminds us all on other boards, lockdown imminent. That recent asset is looking less and less attractive each day and companies increasingly looking to cost cut and make do with what they already have. Not forgetting the massive dilutionary tranches upcoming to pay for said asset. Looks like another political scam sucking in naive private money, promising looser regulation and aid when in reality just desperate to get people into work with very little, if any profit for yours truly. In business, the first rule is never trust a politician! The directors seem to have forgotten this. Of course all well and good if INFA investors are all socialist activists. Somehow I doubt that. Just another TATA steel. INFA are about 200 years late to the party re industrial revolution lol.
Not good times. Mabye I'll have to revise my 15p target to single digits.
SausageIf jobs are not going to be created by in essence bringing heavy industry/manufacturing back to the UK how do you propose the govt/people are going to go about creating jobs in the coming years?Being as we're at peak private debt with interest close to being as low as they will go, and we have the biggest property bubble in the history of these Islands, i just can't see BTL and house flipping along with shopping for shl7 we don't need with money we haven't got as being the route out.Whether INFA using HW/Appledore/IMG reap the rewards from what is coming we can't know for certain, but in my view its worth a punt. (my main worry some of its reliant on a PM who looks in a daze)
I'm amazed that individuals think they can be anonymous in online forums, chats, blogs, etc. I won't go into detail, but folks please DON'T believe or be confident that a web proxy can hide your IP address (especially with a lot of the free proxy servers available online).
For most people they don't need to be concerned, however if anyone posts illegal, defamatory or libellous comments, then please believe me, in most circumstances they can be traced by the relevant authorities.
Obviously law enforcement will have no interest in negative comments on a shares forum but when those comments cross the line with any of the above, then they may take an interest if a complaint is made to them.
Also, don't feel that if a post is removed or deleted that all is fine, it only needs to be there for literally a second to be an issue.
My motivation for writing this post is simply to remind us all that despite our strong feelings on many individuals and many subjects, we all need to be mindful that our actions can have consequences.
Again folks. No one please believe you are totally anonymous on this or any forum.
Oh good!
An absolute nobody comes on here spreading poison about JW and infa
That means we are due for a substantial rise in the share price!
Time to top up at bargain prices!
BTB
Something big must be near for the single digit posters to be rattled! IMHO
sausagefingers01 - Please if you are an investor just wait if not please go away. This board is for serious investors & I will now have you blocked.
Chris and speedy thanks hugely for posting this. I have had niggles of concern about whether team resolute would qualify if it was built British. This has erased those concerns and paves the way for team resolute to get the work. Really good news! Thank you
Chrisatrdg, good post. Very encouraging news for Team Resolute - combining the advantages of a more competitive international bid and UK Shipyard build. It seems the ads for new staff at H&W Belfast is gearing up for the bidding contest.
Allow me to provide more detail and comment.
I noted 3 things in particular:
1) Ben Wallace was reading a prepared response.
2) He referred to the vessels as "warships" and seemed to emphasize the word, thereby allowing international bidders.
3) He also seemed to emphasize the word "alongside."
Verbatim:
Question: Will the government support GMB unions call for the FSS order to be placed in UK shipyards?
Answer: Mr Speaker. We have already started a market engagement exercise and had a healthy response. I intend to announce the procurement timetable for these WARSHIPS in due course, after market testing has completed. We intend to encourage international partners to work ALONGSIDE UK firms to bid, which will build on the succession of the Type 31.

Hon Ben Wallace MP said & I paraphrase with regards contracts for the type 31 support vessels ' Started a market engagement exercise & had a healthy response - announce procurement timetable in due course - encourage international partners to work along side UK firms to bid which will build on the succession of type 31 '.
Edit: In short MOD have put it out concerning building of type 31 support vessels & had a good response from the potential bidders & partnering with international partners is being encourage to build on 'the succession of type 31'.
Looks like INFA have a good chance of getting on the bidders list with existing partners.Expect invitation to tender hopefully by end of this year.
Thanks for the advice sausage fingers, I assume driven through your genuine concern for fellow INFA investors ?
Nobby.
"The structural drivers of the recovery in gas storage margins across the last three years are here to stay."
The article confirms what JW and AR have been saying for some time now. No better time to build a new fast cycle gas storage facility than NOW.
Chrisatrdg - In relation to your 11.59 post I would be very surprised if those questions are reached. Defence questions will not start until about 2.35 after prayers so they will only have about 40 minutes to answer questions until the topical questions will be asked.
Oral questions: Defence (including Topical Questions) being asked this afternoon in the House of Commons.
Q35. When his Department plans to award the contract to build the Fleet Solid Support Ships; and if he will make a statement.
Gill Furniss MP (Sheffield, Brightside and Hillsborough, Labour)
Q36. What recent assessment he has made of the contribution of defence procurement contracts to the UK economy.
Christian Matheson MP (City of Chester, Labour)
Edit: Will be interesting.
Is that not what investing is about " Build up the share price then sell"???

Edit: Great picture of the Stena vessel under the H&W crane in the dry dock & a great punch line.

triumph1 - In relation to your 10.58 ost in as far as it is disputing the viability of INFA I would disagree with your assessment. While you are right that the effect of Covid is to cause a downturn in the ferry industry that is not the only area that H&W are working in the ship repair business is still working. Indeed independently verified reports show that for the last couple of months the shipyard has always had ferries in for maintenance. Going into winter the ferry mantenance work is likely to increase. From my research I am comfortable with my investment in INFA. I am of the view that the broker assessment that by May 2022 INFA would have £17m net cash will turn up to be an underestimate.
Fingers crossed she WILL be back with her sisters ... and may be more !!
Hahaha lost a ton of cash in banks and iag? Really whatamess? Now who is telling fibbies. I have been extremely sucessful in almost every trade I have made over on lloy, barc, iag and many other ftse250s. £30k banked in june on IAG alone. More than you could achieve in your wildest dreams. This last 6 months has been a record breaker for me personally. hahaha....thanks to you bud my buy indicator.
You go around several boards spouting utter crap making ridiculous claims and predictions, making fake accounts bombarding thses boards with your bile. It is not just iag but several others dispite being proven wrong so many times. That's my beef with you. Perhaps if your INFA buddy speedy could keep you on a leash....
According to whatamess, he only has £5k invested here anyway....even though he told you guys he had 120k shares (consolidation adjusted) which is about £45k. OUCH! So which one is it whatamess? This prat is an A* cretin. Not a word this twit says is to be trusted....and in fact if you do the opposite you are more likely to make money like I have done in barclays, Lloyd's and iag several times eh whatamess ;)
Looks like someone is getting tetchy with a taste of his own medicine. Not too fond of crap on your own doorstep by the sounds of it! It goes without saying you consider your cash lost haha that's because it already is. Never mind, 2nd consolidation around the corner as shipyards have been fooked since 2014. 15p target for starters....but maybe lower. When has a company that has consolidated ever gone up lol. More confetti for the 15p party will be issued anytime soon by the incompetent directors, not forgetting the appledore tranches that need to be paid for yours truly, a knee jerk purchase made on the back of politicians who are knee jerk by nature and flip flop by choice. Looks like the govt have played a blinder like they did with tata steel to get some poor private sector suckers to take up a project that was barely profitable when it was not derelict. Dilution after dilution whilst asset value dwindles due to shipbuilding activity on the decline due to covid, cost cutting and flip flopping politicians....how many more millions to bring appledore into service? toxic combination.
I'm in Bangor (Co Down) today and watched the Viking Sea cruise past Ballymacormick Point a short time ago. This big gurl is an impressive sight. Hopefully we'll see her back in Belfast soon.
Blimey, an awful lot of JW's mates must have been furloughed!
Stokey. Also not listed yet, on either H&W or Infrastrata websites, the new "Director of Project Management at InfraStrata Plc"
