I'll look forward to a pint from ya Si, and if you can pronounce Grúdlann Gheata Naomh Séamuis with a good Irish brogue, Ill even buy ya a pint of the Black Stuff back, lol.
Hopefully if this Covid situation improves it might even be an opportunity for some of us posters to meet up at an INFA roadshow in 2021.
I'd only be prepared to have a jar with any of you folks though on the condition certain words weren't part of the craic. Those words would include license, marine, gas, riverfort, Lisa, Portland, Babccck or wind turbines (cause the correct term is obviously big wurley windmills).
(I reserve the right to add other words to the conversation exclusions and also the right to delete some of the above depending on developments).
Ah, you crack me up TTNY.
Nah, was in a grumpy mood anyway. Reasons.
But you are a good cure for grumpiness.
:)
Always nice to have a bit of proper history to a stock you hold as most are just blips.
If i'm ever over that way I'ld love to go up North to Belfast and take it all in.
Have extended family in Bray, so although we, as a family, have been over several times don't think I've been further north than Grúdlann Gheata Naomh Séamuis. Yeah, that place . The source of many a good and bad night. :)
Thanks for the links, Si.
Cheers This, that's best article i've read in a while.
I'd buy you a pint, but it's stoptober. :)
Si Derman. Re your 13.01 post about you being rather grumpy with Appledore being referred to in the RNS as a 'so called' shipyard.
Don't be too upset about this as long as work comes to Appledore, even if it's not ships being built in a shipyard.
My reading of 'so called' shipyard has me getting even more excited about big wurley windmills, lol.
The S S Nomadic was a ship built by Harland and Wolff way back in 1911. This boat was used as a tender for the Titanic and has also had a very interesting existence since then, being used in both World wars and quite a few other ventures.
It was brought back to Belfast in 2006 and restored by H & W in 2011. It's also been announced a few days ago that the Nomadic is indeed having further work completed on it this month by H & W.
Made in H & W Belfast, restored in H & W Belfast and now being maintained by H & W Belfast. It's a 100 year plus history like this that makes this shipyard the very special place it is today.
I've popped the link on from the Historic Ships website mentioning the work being done and also the website for the actual S S Nomadic. I've also posted the actual S S Nomadic website for anyone interested in the actual boat.
It's a great tour btw on the Nomadic if anyone's ever over in Belfast here. It's berthed in Belfast docks beside the Titanic Visitor Attraction and also in the shadow of Samson & Goliath.

I've attached a link for a Business Live article.
I liked the comment from Tim Jones, chairman of the Appledore Taskforce and the South West Business Council "During the run up to the purchase of the Yard by InfraStrata, discussions took place with Senior officials in Whitehall, which gave encouragement to the prospect that MoD work would be directed to the Yard''.
What i didn't like so much is the Business Live photo on the article of Appledore showing Babcxck's name. They've subsequently been emailed re this out of date photo, lol.

Thanks -Si_Derman your link works.
Try this , Chris.

You also need a nice clean glass in an outside pocket for the Irn Bru
Hope so, Speedy. Not much to ask after so much can kicking. imo
As i'm being rather grumpy, what's with the "so called" Appledore shipyard. What happened to the "Highly strategic asset with a rich shipbuilding heritage" that IS Appledore. Rather dismissive, imo.
Anyhoo, onwards and... onwards.
GLA, Si. :)
I clearly failed the IT test but can someone please post the link for the November zoom event I have tried several versions of the published link but to no avail.
With regards todays RNS it is good that we will have an update I am assuming we will all be on mute but we will at least get some form of update on the ML.
Si and Tango. The first online Roadshow will be a perfect opportunity for JW prove Islandmagees status and for us to question him likewise. The FSRU also......
ThisTimeNextYear I can’t top that, you’re a class act ... the cutlery is the killer move
Mushy peas, jellied eels & mash ! ?
You mainlanders have no idea how to woo yer wimen ! On a date night over here in Norn Iron our gals get treated to a pastie bap (with loadsa salt n vinegar). I carry my own white cutlery in my inside pocket and produce this if im with a really posh gal and want to impress her.

Too much?
An Uber and Jellied eels and mash it is then ... no expense spared
Radders99...might be ok for Northern birds but darn sarf, they expect a lot more. The elastic is a lot tighter
Si_D
Made me laugh out loud. Very funny.
I can't un-imagine JW in a sailor's costume now. Somehow Benny Hill comes to mind
To be fair I think she’d respect you for keeping it real ... especially if you threw in some mushy peas
Stokey, with respect, don't you think I know all that. The strategic position and capabilities of H&W and the capex savings for the IM project was a good fit and yes I was invested for the gas storage as, at the time, that was all there was in 2012.
I was more than happy with that acquisition and the possible FSRU project.
But, if we are heading in a new direction at the expense of the previous projects then just come out and say it and stop prevaricating. We had a full mission statement a while back stating the future plans, on all fronts. If that has changed then just fess up and we can move on in the new direction. And if it's ships and renewables, great, I'm up for that. It's the not knowing that keeps me from getting fully back in.
Edit: This is not an edit. ;)
Ref: The Roadshow. I cannot see why anyone would sell the stock between now and the 10th Nov. start. By announcing such a move, you are giving a strong impression that you have something very positive to say. I expect the goal is to encourage more institutional investors. Failure to deliver would be like finally getting the girl of your dreams to agree to a date, then taking her down the local chippy by bus.
I think most LTH on here are aware of the potential cost reductions H&W brings to the IM project, But the pent up frustration regarding the flagship project is taking its toll and the project is Flagging and the current situation as to why no decision is not forthcoming..
Si_Derman In relation to your 08.27 post Me and you invested in INFA for I suspect different reasons. I invested because of H&W nad I saw a route to profits there. While I believe that you invested because of Islandmagee. However if you listen to John Wood's interviews on youtube you will see that the acquisition of H&W is a means to reducing the costs of Islandmagee. H&W therefore facilitates the completion of Islandmagee.
Dear John, I'm sorry, but I feel that you may have got the wrong idea. I never wanted a relationship, I was only in it for the money.
I feel that your obsession with boats has taken you away from home for too long and you still haven't fixed the gas.
You take your protracted twelve month trip if you want, but, I may not be here when you get back.
Si. x
