dawski37 In relation to your 21.49 post on checking the Belfast Harbour page the berth that Stena Embla is in D1C is not one I normally associate with H&W. I am not sure if anyone knows where this berth is. I note that on the 6th it shifts to D1S after Corystes leaves that berth.
JFK. It certainly will be interesting to see how we cope with another "beast" now that we've left the EU. Will all that backup supply from EU be made avilable again I wonder, or maybe some lights will go out? 10 days before ML consultation ends.
This week may offer some surprises now that UK is officially independent of EU again. Perhaps time for Bojo to inform of shipbuilding contracts??
.... has arrived in Belfast hot from China .. great article and Video on the NI Ferry site .. Belfast now has 3 sister ships of this Class operating .. only wish that they had been built by us !!?
A meteorological event this week may herald another beast as we progress through January, so again highlighting the need for additional gas storage capacity and let’s hope a timely boost to the ML decision.
Does anyone know how much it cost to Dry Dock a ship?
According to Belfast Harbour it will be in Belfast until the 9 January
Stoney, LSE03, Bubble, Tango and TTNY. Come on guys, get real. It's obviously the first section of piping for Islandmagee. JW has got the nod from upper echelons of Gov, the ML is go. FID and RNS's to follow. So much work coming online that H&W had to reclaim more land to accommodate production. What a corker of a year 2021 is going to be!
Stena Hibernia is due in H&W dry dock 3rd January at 8.00 lets hope the start of further work in 2021.Season greetings.

Folks, it was Bill Gates himself who done the Belfast monolith, cause I seen him so I did ! That Gates boyo doesn't know what mischief to be at these days.
The Monoliths are actually alien virus breeding cones that need to be destroyed, Where's "Flash Gordon" when you need him!
Stokey ,its where Woods statue is going as he turns infrastrata into a multinational /multibillion shipbuilding and hydrogen company :):)
Hi Stokey
It's trying to tell us that Appledore Shipyard owned by H&W has been identified as 1 of 21 South West companies to watch in 2021 (yay)
https://www.business-live.co.uk/enterprise/21-south-west-companies-watch-19434922
Does anyone have an explanation for this it does not have to be rational? https://www.belfastlive.co.uk/news/belfast-monolith-sparks-comparisons-worldwide-19548227
I don't recall if the link below has already been circulated on this BB. It is quite insightful as it offers a near real time portrait of the UK electricity market in terms of how demand is sourced. What has been interesting of late is how high the CCGT component is - as much as 53% of total generation in recent days due to low wind post Storm Bella.

Another point to note is how high wholesale gas prices have risen in the past few weeks (50p / therm +) as demand rises (as well as other bullish factors). What us INFA investors need is a really cold winter as this will quite possible prove that the UK cannot reliably depend upon stored gas that UK suppliers hold in Dutch and German gas storage . Aside from the lag in physically moving this gas in the UK via the interconnectors it is likely demand from European wholesale markets will take priority as demand is often high across the Channel at the same time as it is on our little island!
This does quite possibly point to increased price volatility in wholesale gas (& electricity) markets which is just what the Doctor ordered in so far as the economics of fas acting (SRS) gas storage are concerned. Let's hope the process to get this built can earnestly commence as early in 2021 as possible.

Good find LSE many thanks
With many countries now saying that they want to lead the hydrogen economy (eg Russia, Canada recently), I think this article in a way supports the strategic development of Islandmagee . It shows a proposed European Hydrogen network with potential underground storage facilities identified, with conversion of gas pipelines to hydrogen pipelines etc. It's interesting to see the National Grid perspective as well as UK gas transmission operator "We just see it as a natural transition,...we're carrying gas today and we'll carry hydrogen tomorrow." which I understand aligns with what Infrastrata says wrt the Islandmagee. Hopefully it will get the green light.
Speedy_Gonzalez In relation to your 04.59 post I think one of the key points was this one When they advertised 23 roles on Hornsea Two earlier this year, over 1,200 people applied. If there is similar unemployment issues near Islandmagee I can see DAERA coming to a similar decision.
Encouraging move by UK GOV in the link below. Let's hope Daera will agree energy security, the economy and jobs all trump minor environmentalist concerns. Birds and sea life can relocate.....natural features like salt caverns cannot!

Caution is required IMO, the offer is far from generous at 1:29. Loyal shareholders are being given the chance to participate at a minority level ie well below that of institutional investors. Quite why they name some of these outfits ‘institutions’ is a total mystery!
I think I will do the same Stokey as hold all mine in a SIPP and have maxed out on annual contribution, rather than sell anything to fund think I will just request an allocation up to my current available cash balance. Gut feel is that the "excess" element will be massively scaled back anyway
You've got until the 7th (according to II) so hopefully you will be OK!
You've got until the 7th (according to II) so hopefully you will be OK!
I have managed to lock my HL account(!!) , when is the deadline for the share offer? Have to wait for the account to be reset (a few days probably)
Thankyou
