Interesting RNS Navantia has a pre existing JV with Windar and now they are looking to add INFA to it after six years. This would seem to imply that they need to expand available facilities or they want to add a UK company to enable them to bid for work around the North and Irish Seas. Potentially very lucrative.

Just seen this on twitter I am ot sure if INFA did not tender or were under cut on price but the Scottish Government are in political trouble over this. https://twitter.com/geoallison/status/1437827524810186764

Chrisatrdg/oldtramp JW has certainly been doing a lot of posting on LinkedIn today. I remember that at a roadshow in answer to one of my questions he said that 1 in 3 enquiries turns into a contract so I would expect a few contracts from the four days.
All going on today !!

Edit: Surely some sort of contract announcement soon based on listening to JW today - just a thought.
Looking very good for some news regarding shipbuilding soon I think
Defence Secretary Ben Wallace announces National Ship Building Office during DSEI 2021
This part is very interesting!!
Later this year I’ll be publishing the National Shipbuilding Strategy Refresh, that will not just extend our scope well beyond the purely naval to commercial shipbuilding but also reach beyond just hulls to internal systems and sub-systems.
So what will it mean for you and the industry?
You will get a much clearer demand signal about what we are trying to achieve with our procurement programmes.
For the first time we are releasing a 30-year pipeline of all Government vessel procurements.
As well as MOD vessels, this will include ships such as those procured by Home Office; the Departments for Transport, Defra, and the Scottish Government.
Today, we premiered our QEC case study for large ship readiness. This BMT REMBRANDT simulation shows the QEC enter our Belfast with ease. We have the capacity, we have the capability and we are ready to welcome the Royal Navy home to Belfast. #DSEI2021 #DSEI
