The UK is doing well with laid up Cruise Liners. The Link is with the Fred Olsen Webby Site which my old computer here cannot attach sadly ( am awaiting some profit from the ML to update my old faithful !!) but Balmoral, Braemar , Boudicca and Black Watch ( which have been lying in the Firth of Forth since March 2020) are now moving in two's to the Dock ( where in fact they sail from for the UK market and which they call "home".) They await " preparation for more efficient operation " which is code I suspect for post Covid alterations .a bit like what I suspect is with our beauties. No doubt someone can attach the link !
However. On a positive note. Page 18 of Saturdays Telegraph. UK to invest £1bn in Mozambique gas pipeline. A senior government source was quoted as saying "LNG was an important transition fuel as we work to reach the ambitious target of net zero emissions by 2050". If this offical thinking in the government, all should be well.
Morning, Tango. So, any financial update would have to break with convention unless it was included as part of something else entirely. Up to now they have been reticent to release details of contracts. Which I guess is par for the course. NDA's and such. I'm just looking for a way that they could update the market, other than... you know, that other thing. :)
Just so I'm on the same page, what interim figures are due soon, Lottie? I have been back and forth through previous years RNS's to see what might be due. I'm eager to see some figures for the first six months trading of H&W. Our first ever operating revenues. :) But I can't seem to see anything that might be due anytime soon.
We've already had the interims on the 30th of April. ( 6 month period up 31st Jan 2020) Previous years was on 17th of April. Before that we had the final results on the 8th of January. ( year ending 31 July 2019) Previous year it was the 7th of January. So, if the current FY doesn't end till the end of next month what figures are due?
I know we get random project updates, the odd strategy update and even the occasional contract RNS. But the only thing I can see due is the Sales and Purchase Agreement for the FSRU, on or before 31 July 2020. And overdue is confirmation of an extention to the term sheet from Vimto. ( 11 June )
Interesting article which, on balance, supports the need for gas storage for at least 15-20 years. With regard to positive updates from the board, the interim figures are due soon and I would imagine they want to give a full and frank update on current and prospective trading conditions. I have seen companies in the past who try constantly to inflate their share price with any snippet of positive news they can muster. I am happy for fewer but stronger long term updates which give build confidence. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-06-26/britain-gas-market-plant-construction-for-climate?utm_source=url_link
whatamess- and the director buys were not significant and mainly family/friends. The new PR guru needs to flex her muscles on how to achieve maximum effect from positive communication. Don't get me wrong I believe we will be MASSIVE but we could get the sp at the same stage as the business if we communicate to the market ( not Twitter linked-in, they are just ego boosting tact's).
Lotie123- agree, there is going to be a lot of help for worthy projects to start getting the coffers filled up again. I am not an expert in marine but can not see any justifiable reason to not give us the licence. I just wish the BOD would give regular updates, as the old saying goes " if you have nothing good to say-say nothing" and we have had nothing in the last month from the BOD, does that mean they are making nothing from these jobs? you would have thought the three sisters would be a significant contract; but nothing released, why?
Seems there is a lot going on and if JW does have his shareholders interests he will update the market NOW! When something good happens you need to shout it from the roof tops in an AIM environment, or continue to drift, on the grapevine it was stated that the three sisters was done at cost to get the PR???
one thing seems obvious, cash is on its way and whatever for a company like INFA that still need to establish herself is fantastic news. Finally some cash in the bank. I look forward to knowing the amounts. Any guesses?
RE: Belfast Telegraph - Viking ships at H & W27 Jun '20
Agreed..Good publicity but it would be better if there was an aerial shot showing the Viking Sun now in the Building Dock with Stena Europe...Some dock that we have !! I am informed that the work involved on the "Three Sisters" is quite extensive and not just post Covid necessary updates ( read into that what you will ) but also general maintenance .So on the former we must congratulate John Petticrew and his team ( in particular the renowned commercial expertise of William Duff ( look up his credential on the Web site or LinkedIn ) on securing the deal which involves quite some high speck work on high speck ships and the need for subcontractors of quality and keeping a close eye ( i am told ) on the estimators and costs in what is a fiercely competitive market of course .I posted some weeks ago that we would need to move on in time from looking after local Irish Sea Ferries to something bigger ....was not expecting the Vikings quite so soon --bit of a shock really. Anyhow the pictures are wonderful publicity and it would be nice to follow it up nationally showing what we can achieve despite all the groaners !! Onwards and upwards as they say .Maybe the voyage continues into calmer seas !
Artemis technologies announced yesterday, £60 million funding to build zero emissions ferries, we seem to have a tie up with them “Already the company has received the backing and collaborative support from stakeholders including Belfast City Council, Belfast Harbour, Stena Line, Bombardier, Harland and Wolff, Queen’s University, Ulster University, Belfast Met, NIACE, Creative Composites and Catalyst Inc; and is the lead applicant on a UK Research and Innovation, Strength in Places funding call.”
