Tango, forward planning seems to be infras strategy ATM ,good signs those contracts maybe forthcoming imho
Chris, see they using some land for wind turbine parts in picture aswell
It is certainly good news, A contract is needed though to actually get Quality workers, as at the minute there is no stability/security to demonstrate for any prospective employee, and I do recall JW stating he was not going to employ without contracts awarded.
There is certainly mountains and mountains of Jam coming, But would like a little taste now :-).
Excellent news !!
Chrisatrdg I think the administrators who sold the assets will be crying in their coffee if JW manages to land a large contract because they forgot to put in a clawback provision in case INFA managed to land a large contract.

Chrisatrdg. Tweets continue this morning......"action stations, all hands on deck"

Stokey. 5%, I'm not so greedy. Even if infa could secure 0.5% that would be close to 100 times the initial purchase price of the Bifab assets!

From a tweet by spudtheplumber this morning.
I know that this link has been shown before but not the narrative. It did occur to me yesterday that this 'random' tweet was a teaser to remind us of the recent RNS on the subject .Maybe the tweet has been fired off in relation to the earlier posts this morning.

LSE03 In relation to your 07.56 post I wonder if INFA can manage to get 5% of that investment.

Database wiuld be useful to access
Speedy_Gonzalez In relation to your 01.09 post this would give a lot of potential work in the 21/22 financial year. I am not sure how many leases are on offer but if the BiFab sites were only to get contracts in relation to one lease we would be talking about revenues in the tens of millions. Do not forget INFA only paid £850,000 for the two sites. Do you have any idea how much competition there would be for the fabrication work.
On Tuesday I posted, "One has to wonder what sort of bunny JW is going to pull out of the Bifab hat?"
It seems the bunny is now revealed in the linked article..........an increase from 10 to 25% mandatory local supply content! Nice trick JW!
Land lease bids to be submitted by July 16th.

Speedy agree indeed it would make a mockery of the whole process,am sure the MOD would want them contracts signed up to not only get shipbuilding going but to have a world class naval fleet up and running as quick as possible ,imho we will here something on both fronts soon ,noted that they are going to drill for oil/gas in north sea another plus for manufacturing at ports /docks around the country I think
I know JW is not concerned of the day to day SP, But I hope he is looking on a month by month - Quatre by Quatre or even Year by Year basis next time bonuses are being tabled... and see the shareholders need to start seeing a return!
Edwin Poots is a Creationist' who are a small group of people who believe that nothing on this Earth is older than 6000 years. With beliefs like this is he capable of making any rational decisions? Best left to DAERA officials.
Speedy_Gonzalez In relation to your 14.12 post in the article when talking about the new shipbuilding strategy it said among other things 'to those building offshore wind vessels' Assuming that Triumph confirms the contract for the two vessels and not just one INFA will be in prime position in respect of this work.
Speedy_Gonzalez In relation to your 13.42 the Minister would normally follow the advice of his officials but does have the legal power to override if he has clear reasons for doing so.
They quoted the surveillance ship ready for 2024 so doubt they can wait anytime at all.
Jane's weekly announced last week the revised shipbuilding strategy plan will be released in Q3. I wonder if major contracts will wait till then?
https://www.defensenews.com/global/europe/2021/03/23/new-uk-naval-shipbuilding-strategy-prizes-keeping-foreign-yards-out/
I see on Bloomberg today that we are going to drill for oil and gas in the North sea again, got to store that gas somewhere..
Speedy- I think the only reason it is going to Poots is the impact of the decision, regarding jobs and security of supply if DAERA said NO he may overturn that. AIMHO
