No wonder the price is up - three large Buy trades just reported totalling 443,053 shares at 425p - that's around £1.9m of buys.
Near to all-time highs now. Maybe all that recent buying has cleared an overhang.
Good to see almost £250,000 of shares bought in two tranches at the full 410p offer early this morning.
"MImobile enables Oxford University to conduct COVID-19 research via mobile
COVID-19 mobile survey data collection facilitated through SMS
September 15th 2020
LONDON, 15th September 2020 – Global cloud communications software and solutions provider IMImobile PLC, today announced it is supporting the University of Oxford to communicate their COVID-19 research.
Professor Peter Grindrod CBE of Oxford University IMImobile during the initial stages of the pandemic, and soon needed a solution that would enable his team to conduct research into the early prevalence of COVID-19 across the United Kingdom. Conducting this research effectively is vital for the University to understand the unknown spread of the virus ahead of the first recorded case in the UK at the end of January, providing them with the knowledge to develop a faster and more efficient response to any future global pandemics.
IMImobile’s market-leading mobile messaging platform, Textlocal, offers a mobile survey feature that can be sent via a simple text message. Utilizing the platform and its capabilities, IMImobile has been able to launch a mobile-friendly survey hosted online that enables volunteers to share their experience of symptoms and instances of early infection.
Jason Palgrave-Jones, Managing Director at Textlocal, commented, “Supporting such an important piece of research with our mobile messaging platform has been a privilege. Ensuring the survey can be created, updated and deployed efficiently as well as being able to track, report and analyze the results has been a key priority. The simplicity and accessible nature of SMS enables any volunteer to take part, removing barriers to participation for those wanting to share their experience securely and quickly, regardless of device”.
Textlocal provided an SMS keyword on a short number (COVID on 62277) alongside a bespoke mobile survey, which the university will promote through social media and with advertising support from their partners in the broadcast media. By texting COVID to 62277, members of the public can request to take part in the survey and will receive an automated text message with a link to the branded survey. The SMS initiated survey is expected to be open for a month and the university is encouraging anyone who experienced symptoms early on to take part.
Professor Peter Grindrod, Professor of Mathematics at Oxford University, said, “The University was expecting the survey to take weeks to build when in fact, the team were able to build and finalize the solution in a single day. Speed and efficiency, as well as high quality, were all essential across the project to help gather useful citizen data that could have a real impact on the UK’s future pandemic response.”

Great to see IMo announcing work with Google. I particularly like:
"Verified Calls is initially rolling out in the US, Mexico, Brazil, Spain and India, with more countries to come."
"LONDON, 9th September 2020 – Global cloud communications software and solutions provider IMImobile PLC, today announced that it is part of Google’s program for Verified Calls. Verified Calls enables brands to increase consumer trust and improve call answer rates by helping people understand the identity of a business calling them.
Consumers still rely on phone calls to communicate with businesses, especially for complex customer service enquiries. Businesses therefore spend $1.3 trillion on 265 billion customer service calls each year yet 87% users will not answer the phone unless they recognize the callers' number as fraudulent calls continue to be a significant issue.
Verified Calls solves this problem by displaying the verified identity and branding of the business as and when the call arrives on a consumer’s device. Furthermore, the purpose of the call is also displayed providing additional context to consumers. Verified calls increase consumer trust and reduce customer service costs by reducing the number of unanswered calls.
Sudarshan Dharmapuri, EVP Products at IMImobile, commented, “We’re excited to now support Verified Calls and be part of Google’s program. Verified calls reduce friction and establish trust in business-to-consumer interactions, a theme that is central to our value proposition. We are delighted, to learn and build with the technology, influence the roadmap, and offer this additional capability to our customers.”
Verified Calls is a feature on Google’s Phone app, which comes pre-loaded on many Android phones and will be available for download starting later this week. Verified Calls is initially rolling out in the US, Mexico, Brazil, Spain and India, with more countries to come. Brands can get more information on the Verified Calls website or can contact us today to get started: hxxps://imimobile.com/contact"
More good news, with a WhatsApp Business implementation for Toyota. COVID-19 has accelerated the need for improved digital communications with customers, and IMO is in the right place at the right time.
Here's a link for the record:
IMO also did the same for Mercedes-Benz in late July which wasn't posted here before:
Terrific buying in the last half hour on Friday, including 101,000 shares at 400p in several tranches - someone was very keen indeed.
Cheers SlowRoll, appreciated!
Thanks Rivaldo for you excellent posts on this and other companies.
New blog post from IMO - how RCS can benefit the recruitment space:

IMImobile PLC (IMO) FY20
...and another 1.32m shares then bought at 345p....no wonder the price is up another 5% today.
Nice - 1m shares just bought at 340p in a 500k and five 100k lots.
Nice summary on the cloud and Covid opportunity from the respected Techmarketview:

Covid creates demand for IMImobile digital comms
Full year results out today from cloud communications software provider IMImobile, confirm that the firm had a strong FY20, growing revenue 20% to £171.2m (FY19: £142.7m). Profitability also improved with gross profit up 26% to £79.1m (FY19: £62.6m) and adjusted EBITDA up 13% to £21.6m (FY19: £19.1m).
We have talked much over recent months about how Covid is accelerating the trend towards digital products and services. IMImobile is one such firm that is having a “good Covid”, with demand for its cloud communications products growing in a number of different areas.
Initially during the lockdown, the firm saw demand increases from some sectors - Banking, Mobile operators and Logistics - counteract declines in sectors more adversely affected by the pandemic, notably Healthcare, SMEs and of course Retail. More recently, demand is growing across the board with examples ranging from retailers relying on digital comms to lure back customers, Healthcare providers defaulting to digital channels for appointment scheduling and leisure operators looking to move away from paper-based products. The firm is also seeing growing adoption of new messaging channels including RCS (Rich Communications Services), WhatsApp Business and Apple Business Chat.
IMImobile looks very well placed to capitalise on current changes to the workplace and has already seen Group gross profit up approximately 20% y-o-y for the first quarter of FY21, with its cloud communications product set showing y-o-y gross profit growth of over 30%. Definitely one to watch over the next twelve months."
Online is crazy - the maximum shares you can buy are just 150 shares at 329p. Whereas you can sell at least 10,000 at the 320p mid-price.
The share price is only going one way based on that demand and supply :o))
Excellent results to 31st March given the pandemic - and most importantly, the outlook is as strong as hoped following the very good Q1'20 trading to 30th June.
With 17p historic adjusted basic EPS, and 20% gross profit growth in this Q1, one could hope for say at worst 20p EPS this year (given some dilution from the placing), and perhaps 23p-24p EPS given a relatively fixed cost base. This would be pretty cheap for a company in IMO's space and with global prospects.
The current trading and outlook is well worth a read:
"Current trading and Outlook
As previously reported in our announcement on 9 July, the Group has delivered a resilient performance in Q1 FY21 despite the operational challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Notwithstanding the impact to businesses globally, we strongly believe that current trends will benefit IMImobile, evidenced by Group gross profit being up approximately 20% year-on-year for the quarter, with the cloud communications product set showing year-on-year gross profit growth of over 30%.
Following period end, the Group has seen clear positive momentum across its regions. Alongside seeing a steady recovery of client activity in the worst-impacted industry sectors since late May 2020, the Group has been focused on strategic deployments, as existing and new blue-chip clients look to accelerate their adoption of digital communication strategies, that will help drive future revenues. Performance in North America, the largest addressable and growth market for the Group's product set, continues to be encouraging, with new strategic deployments for large US retailers having continued during the first quarter.
As previously disclosed, the results for Q1 FY21, together with a good and growing visibility of earnings, underpins the Company's confidence in achieving good year-on-year gross profit growth, subject to the impact of any second wave of the pandemic, including further organic growth in the cloud communications products business, in the full year to 31 March 2021.
With an established leading position in a number of our markets, and substantial opportunities for further growth, we are at an exciting juncture for the business as companies increasingly focus on digital transformation for customer engagement. Our execution of strategy is proven, and we look forward to delivering yet another year of growth ahead.
Jay Patel, Chief Executive Officer of IMImobile PLC, commented:
"We have delivered another year of strong progress, with double digit revenue growth across all sectors and regions for our core cloud communications product set.
We had many significant achievements in the year, including the winning of one of the world's largest retailers as a new client through to the acquisition and integration of 3Cinteractive Corp and the renewal of all major contracts falling due duri
Anyone any ideas why the massive jump in share price today?
Very good Q1 update to 30th June.....
The business as a whole is going great guns, with new contracts, American expansion etc. And with everyday Healthcare now returning to normal things will get even better:
"The results of the first quarter, together with a good visibility of earnings, underpins the Company's confidence in achieving good year-on-year gross profit growth, including organic growth in the cloud communications products business, in the full year to 31 March 2021.
In the longer term, we anticipate that the significant disruption caused will drive and accelerate uptake of our leading technology and services as large global enterprises increasingly adopt digital transformation initiatives to improve customer engagement strategies."
You'd have thought IMO would be extremely busy working for the NHS at present. Nice move up this morning:
"Boca Raton, Florida, July 7, 2020 – Global cloud communications software and solutions provider IMImobile PLC, today announced it has completed its HIPAA compliance assessment for its customer interaction management platform, IMIconnect, as well as its interactive marketing cloud and contact center applications. This assessment ensures patient and health information are processed in accordance with the privacy and security rules of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996). This is the federal law that dictates data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (ePHI) of individuals.
The completion of this compliance assessment comes at a critical time. A recent study by Frost & Sullivan reports telehealth is expected to grow sevenfold by 2025. Consumers are quickly adapting to new technologies with a 76% satisfaction rate reported by a recent survey form McKinsey & Company. The Covid-19 pandemic continues to accelerate this trend, with healthcare companies moving patient interactions to digital channels in order to facilitate contactless care while maintaining the high standard of service that patients demand.
“As digital health channels and options increase, the importance of providing a secure infrastructure and compliant products to protect personal health information is critical for our clients and partners, says Steve Murphy, Chief Information Officer at IMImobile, North America, “This is just one of the many ways in which we continue to transform how organizations and consumers interact with each other”.
Globally, IMImobile’s product suite enables business-critical healthcare communications for a wide range of healthcare companies, including Walgreens, McKesson and the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK."
Octopus have bought another 700,000 shares and now have 9.06m shares in total, or 11.03%:
They've doubled their holding since the start of the year.
Good news from Canada - and IMO providing a valuable service:
"IMImobile North America enhances real-time text message technology for Crisis Services Canada
Jun 16, 2020, 09:30 ET
Supporting increased demand for remote suicide prevention helpline responders through digital channels
TORONTO, June 16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Global cloud communications software and solutions provider IMImobile PLC today announced it has launched a new program with Crisis Services Canada (CSC) to enhance real-time text message functionality for its responders in order to meet the higher demand for its suicide prevention services since the COVID-19 outbreak.
The program, which was set up in just 72 hours, has been in use since April and has been instrumental in helping those in need of immediate assistance. The solution enables real-time, two-way conversations between responders and help-seekers, while also allowing flexibility for the responders to handle multiple interactions asynchronously to improve response time. To start a conversation, the user simply sends a text message to the CSC shortcode.
"We are always looking to use our technology in ways that support the areas in which we live and work. I am particularly proud of this solution and its ability to have an immediate, positive impact on our community," states Bruce Bales, CEO of IMImobile North America.
Another COVID-19 operation being carried out by IMO's subsidiary Healthcare Communications:
"Healthcare Communications deliver bi-lingual test results to Welsh residents
London, 9 June 2020
London, 9 June 2020 – Healthcare Communications is sending out thousands of Covid-19 test results to Welsh residents via a new text messaging service. Results are delivered by SMS to key workers and members of the public who have been tested for the virus in Wales.
The service means that those who test positive can continue to self-isolate, while those who test negative can get back to their normal routines as soon as possible.
Public Health Wales has been working with Healthcare Communications to implement the system across Wales as part of its efforts to help scale up the country’s sampling and testing capacity. The system has now been rolled out in several local health board areas across Wales.
Dr John Boulton, Director of NHS Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, who heads up Public Health Wales’ testing cell, said: “Making sure that people in Wales get their test results in a timely and convenient manner is obviously hugely important.
“Equally important, though, is having a system for doing this that is time and resource efficient from an operational perspective.
“We are confident that the system we have in place with Healthcare Communications can support our continuing efforts to scale up Wales’ testing capacity as part of the next phase of our COVID-19 response.”
Previously, when testing numbers were at approximately 200 a day, results were shared over the phone. However, as testing numbers have increased, the urgency behind delivering results means that this is no longer a safe or efficient channel to do this.
Now, SMS messages are sent to thousands of individuals every day in both English and Welsh. The workflow is automated, so staff time spent on phone calls and admin can now be redirected to other COVID-19 duties to help keep Wales safe. This will prove invaluable as work continues to increase Wales’ testing capacity in line with the Welsh Government’s Test, Trace Protect strategy.
Healthcare Communications work with 5 of the 7 NHS Health Boards and the National Screening Services in Wales, sending over 3 million communications to Welsh patients every year. Communications are delivered in Welsh and English to comply with the Welsh Language Act and deployed across several channels including SMS, IVM, agent call and by digital and postal letter.
