marab, depends on the flight time. You might find the BA flight has better connection times with connecting flights in to JFK. £150 difference can be charged if the PERCEPTION of the difference in service has been sold correctly. It is like Harrods selling the same items as the shop next door for twice the price. I know, I over charge for products I sell because people have some bizarre idea that expensive = higher quality. If BA can get away with it, good for them. It is not an automatic thing people pay the lower price for the same product.
You got to laugh i have just done a price check on skyscanner and a flight FROM JFK TO LHR august 10th till 17th with BA comes to £810 return and Delta comes to £660 . So if you were a yank who would you go for , Get real BA with your pricing !!!!
I actually believe that a lot of Americans like to fly Trans Atlantic with BA, certainly if you are travelling coach/economy BA service is far superior to most American carriers.
I have flown United to S F absolutely disgraceful, B A has its faults but I certainly prefer to 'Fly the Flag' (I know that's an old slogan but will bring back memories for some ) Fingers crossed for a good day tomorrow.
EHH UP BIG BLUE GONE OFF ON ONE MUST BE THE TABLETS
jeeeezz, the mass hysteria hyping up Armageddon climate change is ramping up more. Some idiot in the US administration is coming out with some incredible over the top bull now to add to the bare faced lies and false data from the UK met office today. And there are some more months of this to come leading up to the Glasgow conference.
If you can not see this for what it really is then you frankly deserve what will be very significant consequences as people's economic lives a simply deleted and erased with completely unnecessary changes forced on society. Another absolute madness on a par with crazed religious cults. You can kiss goodbye to any long term investment returns with anything connected to travel if these zealots are not pulled down and real world truths are made prominent.
Do you all buy this hysteria? Really?
sundezena yes i did pick it up but like i say it will be USA carriers not BA they wont get a slice of the action lol well a little one . Why would a yank book from BA when they got loads of carriers , really sund you let your self down on this one heading to 150 -160 lol now i can say you really need to do your own research lol
250% of what? 1 flight or 1000 flights? And what is the load factor? In fact, does that 250% increase finally fill one single aircraft? Which airline? All? US based only? As always, apply the 360 rule and things come into a better perspective.
Marabab, strange you didn't pick up on this news "New York to London flight bookings surge by 250% after travel decision"..
So looking forward to tomorrow now. DYOR.
Marabab, still time to go higher and it's not even 2 pm!!!! LOL.
sunde still time to drop lol
Marabab, have a look at other states too, not just florida which has a higher infection rate. Have you looked at New York which is the most lucrative route to BA? You should have bought more shares when it dipped to £1.59. Shame!! DYOR.
Actually nothing to do with wanting IAG to go down. Certainly the lower the entry price the better. This switcheroo is all about TIMING. The price of IAG at the moment of the switcheroo will be what it is. The critical part of the strategy for me is that there is little rumour in the air that US is about to open up so that when I go all in with IAG it has a decent jump when the US opens up.It is very reasonable to assume that the sp of IAG will be a good way below a post travel announcement a week or two ahead of the announcement. Whether that is half or double the current price is academic. My alert on possible bad day tomorrow is based on plenty of experience where companies routinely tell you they are doing fine and dandy, but due to some event they end up with a 'however' in the statements to explain why everything is the opposite to what it was before and why they need a few hundred million more from the market. Business only release information as required by stock market rules.
BigBlue, this is your scenario:
IAG results: Cash burn has reduced and has exceeded analyst expectations HOWEVER travel demand is strong in quarter 3 and we expect cash burn to be neutral.
Sky news: BA parent company IAG rallies 7%!!
BigBlue, just because you want IAG to go down and EZJ to go up at the same time does NOT mean it's going to happen. You know what, tomorrow you could see the opposite.. Today, EZJ seems to lag IAG share price by 1%..tomorrow it might be a lot more. Good luck with your switcheroo!!! I hold iag but nibbled at ezj when it went down but might sell them at 9.99. With the number of people flying today , i feel confident in both to go up in tandem. DYOR though.
WHen the IAG results are released tomorrow, you only need to scan the summary for one single word. That word is...
"However".
Pages of ramping bull and positive spin becomes meaningless when that one single word is in the text, generally towards the end of the statement. However, [there it is] the iis computer's will have speed read the RNS before your knackered old PC has even decided which program to open the text with. By the time your machine has displayed the words and reach for the scroll wheel, the iis computers will have dumped mountains of shares.
I fear for IAG it's going to be more of a case of 3 steps back and stand still for a few days tomorrow. It'll come back but I am in the 60% probability camp that tomorrow will not be a happy bunny day.
Yes looks like Florida has a high infection rate looks like a no go for flights to us
White House secretary Jen Psaki.
"The United States will not lift any existing travel restrictions “at this point” due to concerns over the highly transmissible Covid-19 Delta variant and the rising number of US coronavirus cases"
Airlines have heavily lobbied the White House for months to lift the restrictions and some say the industry may now have to wait until September or later for a possible revision.
Big Blue, Easy J remaining strong, your holding there will grow.
I don't believe it , i agree with your last statement big blue you finally nailed it well done sir
Looks like the market might test the 200ma within time.
At least once the RNS is out tomoz, the speculation is out of the way and recovery will continue, in one way shape or form.
Sore point? Genuinely very confused as to what could be the trigger.
I have pointed out a couple of times over the last couple of months, the patter is three steps forward, two back. Not sure what the big issue with that is, as this is/has/will be the movement from here to when the US formally opens up to UK travellers. Given the advice is that yanks shouldn't visit the UK at all I think believing that borders are to suddenly opened up for incoming Brits is a bit wishful thinking. The mind set to stop trying to control cases and change to 'living with covid' is not fully developed in many countries. Vaccination rates are stalling and the social access covid passport is having to be introduced. By the time the libertarian arguments, legal challenges and system integrations are sorted out, this is not going to be an overnight turn around. September, and I say towards the end of September is going to be the earliest for US travel, although there may be some rogue states like Nevada that set up 'tourist bubbles' so you can fly into Vegas, hand over all your money to the casino and hotel owner, and then fly out again direct from UK. Also, there maybe an expansion on allowable special travel categories with all the vaccination test bells and whistles to allow more family and business one-offs but you would be lucky I think to fill half of one aeroplane a day.
BigBlue,
"the sp is being marched down the hill again"...what r u talking about?? 2p is hardly being marched down the hill in my view. Wait for the day to be over and IF the share price is down 10p , then yes...but at the moment we r down a couple of pence. To note, instead is the share decline difference between EZJ and IAG, ezj is down more than iag today..BA, gain, has 5 times the flights it had a month ago and i guess 5 possibly 6 the amount of people flying..That's good news and from next week they will be adding more flights i guess to cope with huge demand. This is good news and it means it will survive and profits will skyrocket due to the fact the cut costs. So, those hoping for a lower entry point at £1.50 or less will have to either come in at a higher price or move on!!! Sorry to say but this is only going up from here, especially as it is starting from a low base. By the way, i spoke to someone in USA in the travel industry and he thinks US will open up sooner than many think.. Looking forward to that day.. GLA and DYOR.
BiG Blue or should it be Little blue have i hit a sore point , truth hurts doesn't it HHHHHEEEEEEE
BiG blue don't need to be a English spelling or grammar guru to make money
maraaba - go to library. Ask for 'dictionary'. Find a comfortable seat. Look up the word, 'sarcasm' [it is under the section titled 's']. Re-read the first paragraph of my comments. Sit back in your chair, look up to right and smile modestly as you get it. Put dictionary back in place. Thank the nice assistant. Go home.
Your day is complete and you learned something.
UK expected to put Spain and Greece back on the amber list in coming days. 2 of the most popular holiday destinations for Brits. Would you risk going there now, given the possibility they could get bumped up to the red list at short notice?
