Big blue stfu and go back to your little shell
Iag opening 160Plus matey
No fundings needed is big news
And all travel shares will generally do well next week
and, and, and ......
Read back through my comments and I said repeatedly no comment means they were in the process of looking at a deal. That is confirmed. They HAVE been exploring options with the banks. That is why they haven't made any public comment so I have been BANG on all the way through. IAG has some sort of agreement with the banks. No RI, but there have been discussions so lets see.
On Friday, buy in the hope there was no RI - watch it fly. Sell to avoid dilution - lucky escape.
It is the investment lottery.
Winners and losers.
Dead heat, we both posted links at 19:52, except mine is direct to the Times.
I win!
It gives me great pleasure to announce the winner, drum roll please
Top of the heap, A number 1…. Raffles70
Congrats Raffles
… god, the lord, the light… l knew you have been tripping all this time BB..
…to give it to BB, his genius was his proof that no RNS meant he had to be right…
And now, I'm going to stuff it down your throat, as PROMISED.
You have lambasted me for a whole week. I have been adamant, IAG MUST respond to CS broker note. I was not the only one demanding an answer.
Well now we have it. Not an RNS, they have opted for a press release/interview. I speculated to day [and before] that might be an option.
You can form an orderly queue and deliver your humble apologies. One by one. Suitably accompanied with a gift, such as bottles of single malts, decent coffee beans, exceptionally rare ribeye stakes.....

Ha, Ha - I posted the link first
I am the boss, the god, the lord, the light
HA!
This is the stock market casino bengi. There is no such thing as black and white. If there were, do you think there would be a market? You read the signs and bits of information floating around and make your guesses. You look at the numbers and decide if they are true, will work in the real world, spin or under estimating. You make your guesses. You look at the company with the context of the real world, the people involved. What could go right. What could go wrong. You guess again.
Thousands of pis search in vain for the guru, the commentator, someone who can give that little wink, buy that one, sell that one. There was a time in the Blair years if you knew the signals, the corrupt little ****.s would send out nods and winks, in between flipping properties. Those days are gone.
Nobody really knows what is going to happen next. We make best estimates, we read between the lines, we look at the 360 to see if there is something looming up behind us that will wipe us out. Did you see the pandemic coming and the consequences? Did you see the French withdrawing their ambassador from the US?
There is no black and white, just smoke and mirrors.
big-blue, give it a rest. It's Saturday night, take the other half out or meet your mates (if you have any) you spend too much time on here...... cheers.
Lets see some proof about RI and share dilution or is this from the motley fool
Somebody show me in black and white what there evidence, there is none…
Is this it:
“to reflect increasing rights issue risk” ( Headline)
Although IAG has said it is comfortable with liquidity and has ample access to reasonable-priced aircraft financing, the broker said it believes it is “prudent to factor in a degree of dilution risk” in the target price
https://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/960029/british-airways-owner-iag-target-price-cut-to-reflect-increasing-rights-issue-risk-says-credit-suisse-960029.html
1 in 25 brokers has added a risk factor degree, Big-Blue eye light up because he sees an angle and suckers everybody here…
I want black and white evidence please…
"I'm sorry but unless the share issue was mispriced you are no worse off. Obviously the fact the airline is needing to issue more shares is not a good sign but the share issue itself is neither here nor there."
LA, if you believe in rights issues and they are "neither here nor there" perhaps you should try your luck on the AIM.
You will find them a bit more frequent over there and you'll be able to learn about dilution at the same time.
Anyway, got to go, spent too much time already, it's Saturday night, cheers.
infamy, infamy, farend's got it in for me.
Seriously? You don't think people took one look at CS note and jumped to the same level of scrutiny? Interesting debate whether they should or should not respond. But you think the only reason people have drawn the conclusion they have is because of my posting? There has been vociferous counter argument and even a quote apparently back paddling CS original statement. Mote than enough for people to dtaw their own conclusion. In the absence of a denia, the consensus accepts the probability leans towards a RI. New news might change that in a breath. O would love to rule the bb spotting, posting it, and stuffing it down everybodies throught!
"With all the uncertainty IAG will have to provide an update on potential RI in the Q3 results update"
The tentacles of big-blues incessant posts have reached every corner of this BB, I despair...... again.
I never said that the market wont react badly to it. Whatever IAG were to offer as a discount, the share price would perform worse than that. But this is irrational and a savy investor who holds for the long term is completely indifferent to such animal spirts.
"Because they offer you a discounted price to avoid your holdings being diluted down?"
LloydsActualy, a trifle more research required there, jeez.
My concern with IAG is they are so heavily dependent on US travel and also S America which won’t come off the UK red list for a while either.
With all the uncertainty IAG will have to provide an update on potential RI in the Q3 results update on Nov 5th. I had feared an RI may occur in parallel on this date but more likely they will wait to see cash burn for a bit longer now UK travel has opened up and SP should travel up a bit now as well.
For the record, I dont believe there will be a shareholder offering at the moment. Perhaps down the line when the US opens up it will to pay down debt, but that's a good thing. Why would IAG choose to sell itself at 1.50 when it can get 2-3 in a few months?
The only reason why a share offering is poor for the share price is that it's the company effectively saying "we need money badly" and this is not correlated with strong performance. So yes it is a negative signal but, as I said, if you believe in the long term profitability of IAG, as I do, then you should partake.
Because they offer you a discounted price to avoid your holdings being diluted down?
If you dont believe in IAG recovering, then sell. Dont wait for the share issue just take your money and run. If you do, then take the shares. Basic accounting tells you that the value of IAG increases one for one with the revenue raised in the share offering. You are protected by the discounted offer to existing shareholders. Yes there are more shares, but on a company worth more.
It's not complicated.
"I'm sorry but unless the share issue was mispriced you are no worse off. Obviously the fact the airline is needing to issue more shares is not a good sign but the share issue itself is neither here nor there."
You're obviously new to this game LA, with statements like that I wonder how many RI's you have participated in?
Invariably the additional fund raise price will be achieved and beyond, naturally by the market. That being the case why take part?
For once I agree with you bb, you maybe a prolific poster on here but your mandate does not extend to the market. Saying that you've certainly suckered a few on here with your ramblings.
Mind you, since reading this BB I do agree with some of your thinking on other matters.
Just saying, but you know my thoughts on your mutterings about an RNS.
If no RI, why not say so in answer to the rumour, started from a credible source and repeated by those who have editorial filters. THAT is the reason why there are jitters, it is not because Big Blue has spooked the market. If I had that much influence then I would be saying something like, dump all your shares and buy Easy Jet. Then, when I have switcherooed to IAG, dump all your shares and buy IAG whilst I have phone up Biden with his instructions. Then wait until I've finished my bucket of KFC for your next instructions. Oh, yes, there is no god so pray to me!!!
I'm sorry but unless the share issue was mispriced you are no worse off. Obviously the fact the airline is needing to issue more shares is not a good sign but the share issue itself is neither here nor there.
At last a post with some common sense T100. Of course a fund raise at this point is not good for shareholders, they rarely are unless there is a specific purpose usually other than reducing debt.
Someone on here said I'm not worried about dilution due to a RI, just buy more......doh!
There's some numpties on here, you gotta laugh.
