Looks like we are headed for a finish of roughly 169 - up about 7p on the week. Given what a torrid week it has been, I'll take that - on Tuesday i thought we were heading back into the 140's. Looks like (for now) both Iran and Israel are declaring a draw, and spinning it as a victory in their respective countries. Lord knows what will happen in the longer term - the whole area is a tinderbox (for you young ones, that has nothing to do with online dating). Hopefully things will calm down long enough for us to return to the 180''s, at which point many people here (including myself) will be tempted to at least partially sell up, before the next crisis hits - with this share we all know the next potential disaster is never far away.
Anyway, I am now heading off for my own personal "de-escalation" - a.k.a. going to the pub. Not a Dom Perignon week, but as we were staring down the barrel a couple of days ago, I think a couple of Moretti's and some chilli nuts are well deserved. Let's see what next week brings. Have a nice weekend, and if you can't be good, don't get caught!
We could be on for a blue finish today.
I do wonder where the SP would have ended if not for the events of last 24hrs.
Share is showing & holding up a strong surge to rise.

Unexpected!! but a nice suprise, now turned green
Back to 0% like NOTHING happened in the Middle East at all EXCELLENT 👌👌👌
I guess the teal question now is - where will the ‘Bringers of Democracy to the Middle East’ 🙄🙄take us at 2:30 🤣🤣🤷🤷
Will we get back to yesterdays close or Nose dive again🤷🤷🤷
Just like my dad says “ well I never “ lol 😂
IAG holding up well considering it was sub 160 only a few days ago... and also spent most of the last 3 years sub 160!
Apart from Ryanair all European airlines an absolute suicide trade for years….U.K. shares generally now referred to as “ the bug zapper trade “😂😂

Very good news. An 'official' from Iran has said they have no plans to retaliate. Iran has a significant presence in Yemen, backing the Houthi's and Syria.
More moderate Arab States like Egypt Jordan Saudi UAE & Kuwait will be urging caution to Iran. A State they secretly detest.
I think IAG will pick up during the day as more 'good news' filters through.
Iran has downplayed the strike and said they have no plans to respond. Hopefully that's calmed the situation down for the time being at least.
Smartpee - correct. Such a good day yesterday, and now this. I should have known better really, hoping for 2 consecutive good days; whatever was I thinking! I thought Benny wotsisname had said no action until after Passover. Can't believe a politician has told a lie - thank God our own politicians aren't like that.
08;23 - is it too early for a drink?
The Israeli air strikes in Isfahan sent a message to Iran. Deliberately so. We know where your nuclear sites are & we can hit them. Nothing you can do. We have the iron dome. Could have been far far worse. A measured response. Iran will make a lot of noise but I expect very little action. Could be wrong of course. Hopefully this situation will start to calm over the next few weeks & we get back to £1.80 plus. GLAH
Markets are reacting but not exactly a tumble in my option, let’s see what the day brings.
Stay calm and have a cuppa🤣🤣
Whatever happens in the world, it seems the war is against IAG share price...
It looks like an orchestrated response to me, it should be noted that Ben Gurion airport is still open and also that Passover begins on Monday evening.
As previously stated the Iranians are playing it down, hopefully a form of sanity will prevail in both countries leaderships 🤞🏻
I would like to know how many missiles the Israelis fired and how many got through.
Iran fired/deployed 100+ missiles and drones with only was it 3 getting through. If the Israelis fired low numbers with a high success rate then it lays bare the vulnerabilities of Iran defences which will be one more reason for Iran to de-escalte.
This idiots are mad absolutely mad. They have not even allowed to shut down airspace. Seriously this are proper monkeys fire guns anywhere they want 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Appears to be a limited calibrated strike from Israel. How will Iran respond? I expect yesterdays gains to be wiped out today. S-h-i-t.
Uh oh
Markets around the world tumbling.
1 step forward, two steps back. Welcome to iag world.
More importantly, it’s very worrying news. Escalation is a terrifying prospect though the Iranians appear to be playing it down.
An Israeli missile has struck Iran, two US officials have told the BBC's US partner CBS News
Blimey bobbins
What a great thought, now I know you like a fine wine but it’s also great to hear that you’re into your food, especially going as far as getting two beauties to do the catering for you! A couple of tasty dishes would be perfect at the end of a relaxing day. Good luck and keep us informed how it goes down. Let’s hope the shares are on the up as well.

not sure what happened to the capital letters there, and not being allowed to use the word "****tail" to describe my chosen beverage, is truly pitiful.
nuff respect to ezj for giving us a big leg up. i can see a strategy/system developing for me here. ezj results coming - sell there and buy here. iag results coming - sell here and buy there. rinse and repeat.
before long i will have earned enough to retire, and live the life i desire, and was designed for. namely, sitting on a beach quaffing chilled ****tails, while a couple of lissom young beauties rub suntan lotion onto me, and generally cater to all my requitements.
sorted.
That's the concern at the moment, a lot can happen over the weekend. I'm in here short term trading and long term holding. People will always need to fly for business or leisure I'm confident of a sustained recovery in the sector! Onwards and upwards!!
