Travellers heading to the UK will now have to take a Covid test before their departure in an effort to limit spread of the virus, the government has said.
This isn't good for IAG another red day
Jtan…
A very profound statement, I liked that very much!
:)
Took the wife shopping earlier.... came out of a shop with about 10 people in... went next door into a restaurant with about 25 people in and took my mask off... what’s that all about
OSS: you need help! You remind me of a dickface on RR board named retirment! You related ?
The travel restrictions are blow, but not the death knell some people are claiming. Only people who really need to travel are doing so at the moment anyway. That's business and people visiting family mainly. A test is going to stop those people.
I think we'll see an early drop then a recovery later in the day.
With sleepy joe considerinf lifting restrictions we could even see the two cancel each other out.
I'm long on this anyway so maybe it will still be low at Christmas and I can get some more in.
Just hope it doesn't dent the final months of the quarter.
Will be great if we see an early lifting of restrictions next week.

If you want to get into some of the background behind the continued sovietisation of the states have a read of this. It isn't a propaganda piece, can be a bit heavy going in parts, but is a good example of how the 'collective' part tries to elbow out the 'individual member' states. A lot goes on behind the scenes at quite a technical level in a million and one ways like this one. This one has been identified and flagged up, but many havn't. You normally only hear about these things when groups realise all power has been ceded to the Soviet and raising it results in attacks of being extreme right wing because generally only the right calls out these things since the EU ethos is underwritten by socialist principles [as before with the Nazi - National Socialists]. It is alarming how much of the basic politics is just the same as before.
These revelations are over the heads of most people and rarely make the mainstream media, but this crap has been going on since Maastricht and accelerated under the constitution and failed attempt to get a EU mandate for the soviet in 2008. Understanding how the tentacles of the soviet worm their way into everything helps appreciate why Brexit is such a huge blow to the EU, losing the UK link into the commonwealth and level of cooperation with the states for example, as well as a key pin of the global financial system. It is why the stakes are so high to force the UK back, whatever needs to be done, even if it means using the only thing the British understand, to paraphrase. One day, there will be live ammunition involved!!!
meanwhile.....

The other 'problem' we have to deal with, the soviet EU and it's desire to repatriate UK territory into the soviet collective. You been seeing some activity from France on that level over recent months. With Germany now completing the handover, expect new fronts to be opened against the UK, SPain to kick off over Gibraltar, and some heavy handed deliberate changes to product standards to be used to hit the UK exports into the EU as hard as possible. With covid abating, or it had started too, and Germany retaking control from Marcon, there will be claims of compensation galore for UK spreading covid, not honouring agreements [which will be just straight lies or conditions that never existed or have been butchered in translation into something else {subsidiarity anyone? }].
So the new year will usher in a whole load more **** shower. But things are kicking off hard against the EU on the Eastern flank. Question is, will Germany make the same mistake? Will it try and fight on two main fronts again?
Have you see the EU are starting to force mandatory injections on the EU population! What will happen when they get to Northern Ireland?
I heard on the radio today that the UK is requiring everyone to have a negative test before arrival in the UK and the EU is not happy about it. Not being funny but I have a holiday booked to Italy in Feb and I have been told I have to be vaccinated so what's the difference just a test!

.... and as I promised, as light follows day, forcing mask wearing will result in a return to lockdown. The above prediction is so obvious and it is 100% due to masks being allowed to act as superspreaders again. It is madness what is goin on, utter madness.
We should be forcing people to fly for free and get the mild covid spread and wide
Is it the case the authoritarian strains that exist in our democracies and world governments knew this was going to happen at some point and have been ready to move quick to keep the covid fear ball rolling? I knew a lot of them would have trouble letting go of the control over populations they have been gifted by covid and everything is pointing to that direction. The very first reports of the variant were accompanied with the symptom description as extremely mild, nothing new is being discovered as the clock ticks on. It is the end of covid and some can not let it go, just like masks, they can't let go. We are going to need some aggressive politics in a number of places to get out of this it seems. UK government must fall next week.
Agree Clued and I’m not a fan of his, it’s the same way the Spanish Flu was extinguished. Short term pain long term gain.
Ireland's Professor McKonkey (spelling ?) of Trinity College Dublin said in Daily Mirror yesterday that research shows unusually that a Cold Virus 229E has merged with this O variant and that these are good signs because if O variant becomes dominant then a Cold will be the worst most will get....thus the Cold symptoms vast majority are showing from the O variant.
Once again travel is being tampered with to make the Government appear to be in control. We ALL know it makes zero difference as covid spreads like wild fire. Even scientists and the WHO say don't bother.
Have time on my side so I’ll let the gods deal it! If you’re looking at risk and planning on making a fortune pre Christmas I would go to the racetrack
Hoping for the best. In all fairness I’m a lot more positive now in an era post vaccinations, treatment pills, planes in the skies and with a mild flu like variant as compared to November last year!
After the nasty nasty response to SA for reporting openly what it had found, do you think others are going to be so open? There is a really serious fallout a little way down the road in the way some territories reacted to SA.
To be fair we only have the highest because we do the most gene sequencing
What's concerning is, UK has 160 cases. One of the highest excluding South Africa. Soon enough, other countries will red listing us.
Even the BBC has given up trying to force feed panic then?
This ridiculous overreaction is being outed every minute. What is jaw dropping is that it was being widely reported there was nothing of concern about the effect of this variant, in fact it was actually a good thing, yet more testing is introduced and it can only have one impact on travel and that is to make it more complicated and expensive and hence it was a deliberate deterrent. A stealth quarantine and then additional sabotage. It really does stink to high heaven. Nothing about the Omicron reports warrants any of the response. Omicron is being used as a cover for a deliberate sabotaging of travel. It is blindingly obvious as each hour ticks by.
Tuesday, I want to see rebels in the house openly calling for the PM to consider his positions, rip him to shreds during PMQs and have a tory backbencher ready to propose a vote of no confidence by Thursday if Boris has not walked and all the travel restrictions removed. This direct deliberate act of sabotage can not go unanswered. Government must fall.
Travel restrictions are not that serious compared to lockdown.. These should do little harm for a short period but will not stop people from travelling. Getting your covid tests abroad are 10 times cheaper than in UK so its not such a big deal. As the cases in UK are increasing, you need to act ASAP before it gets worse.. So no complaint from me...
