Susannah Streeter, senior investment and markets analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown, said: ‘’Despite high hopes that mass vaccine roll outs would by now have propelled the airline industry upwards on a smooth ride of demand, the latest data shows that turbulence is continuing, with UK daily flights still at half of pre pandemic levels...
"As uncertainty remains about exactly when the government will ease the restrictions further, British Airways owner, International Consolidated Airlines Group (LSE:IAG) remained under pressure today...
"But tour operator TUI has surged higher amid reports that it aims to double the number of customer taking holidays in Greece next year, exceeding pre-pandemic numbers, a sign of confidence in pent up demand translating into bookings.
"The lifting of Plan B restrictions and the expectation that workers will head back to the office has also been met with a relief rally by Trainline. The company has been severely hit by the exodus of commuters from the railways, and the expectation is that online bookings will start clicking back up, although given the hybrid working from home revolution, there is still a huge journey ahead to get close to pre-pandemic levels of business. Its share price rose by just over 4% in early trade, but is 42% down over the year and less than half of what it was in February 2020.’’
The difference BB is that many on here are not planning to hold on to it for long....2-2.20 maybe 2.50 could be seen very soon.
we almost turned positive...we will soon..DYOR.

Part of the 360 to consider when putting airlines in a long term portfolio.
please, BB, start talking sense...you talk a lot of garbage sometimes...thank god you don't run IAG...it would be a disaster if you did!! ahahahah.
"Carolyn Prowse, chief commercial, strategy and network officer at Vueling, said: “We are very proud to announce the development of our international network from London Gatwick thanks to the coordination with British Airways which enables us to offer the best joint product from London to help grow our markets."
Pull the other one!
the article actually says clearly griffin lost BIG...good, i am so glad...greedy bloke, it serves him right...hope he loses extra BIG.
LMFAO.

Now BA, part of IAG, has set up chepo flights from Gatwick. Now Vueilng, part of IAG, has set up competing flights. It is almost as if, as if, as if BA is being treated as a future stand alone competitor. The rest of the IAG group setting up rival BA flights in anticipation of BA being sold-off???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Old news story about Griffin, and he probably made a decent wedge overall hedging the other way. The idea that a fund manager put down a one-way bet and hope for the best is a bit pie in the sky.
lets just hope they lose BIG time...i would laugh my head off!! Muppets they are, love it!! and when they take away some restrictions (announcement in days), they will lose even more!!!cant wait!! DYOR.
Love it: Ken Griffin so sharp he lost seroius dough

You are right this bb is not exclusively for IAG holders. What baffles me is how you always find a way to link your off topic opinions with IAG. Now as you have told us you own shares in EasyJ (I don’t believe it by the way) and a few UKOG why don’t you go on their bb and utter your nonsense?
Woody.
I love beans on toast!...
.
Sorry, I meant bean.....
Jotom think you're paying for dinner mate lol. Hope im wrong
Haha Jotom even though I want your son to win expecting “over” 1.7p end of this month
I do not follow 'beliefs', I follow cold hard basic real world facts. There is no 'impartial' reporting of climate change as a BBC correspondent revealed recently celebrating the fact they don't have to apply any balance as a matter of policy and how much easier it is to 'sell' the message. To believe as you do there are 'worsening global effects' simply shows how susceptible you are. You are the perfect mark to milk money from your bank account for the cause. And this is shown to be more true as you believe that the future is 'too terrible to comprehend'. This is a planet we are talking about. The change required to have any measurable effect requires such volumes or quantities that the claimed mechanisms can never physically alter anything on a planet scale. You have a head full of Hollywood films designed to fool you that colossal events can occur in response to minor localised changes. You are a perfect mark for all this climate change crap, keep handing over the money! I won't be emotionally blackmailed into handing over money. My care for the future generations to stop the collapse of society due to major economic collapse like through the forced ending of fossil fuel use, serious environmental damage through mad terraforming projects like trying to remove co2 from the atmosphere [total madness]. Only 0.04% of the atmosphere is co2 and if billions of these extraction machines are installed there will be a major drop in photosynthesis across all plant life completely destroying continents of vegetation and then when natural fires occur they will burn for much longer with a higher oxygen content available. The oxygen balance is just such that natural fires will burn out as the fuel supply goes under a threshold. A marginal increase will see many fires continue long after they were supposed to naturally extinguish. And then there will be the increased alkalinity in the seas and fresh water leading to major extinctions of aquatic life, both animal, vegetation and plankton food chains. And where is the open debate to at least question any of this madness? Nowhere thanks to the complete religious take over of the debate by one side.
And you claim this is not relevant to IAG? Eh? The neverending increase in cost with more and more and more taxes and charges based on the unchallenged environmental crap will result in less and less travel, less profitability, less dividends and less share value over time. It is highly likely that the pandemic has been used to implement a sabotaging of airline travel trying to reduce or 'reset' the industry back to levels in the 1970's as air travel is prime target. You are one hell of a hypocrite to claim to hold shares in IAG whilst spouting all the environmental crap you do.
I hold IAG as and when I think it prudent. I do not think it is prudent at this moment in time due to credit level concerns. This board is not exclusive to current holders.
Spar12.
I hope that you're wrong! I have a bet with my son that it will be 180p by month's end! (He bet on 170p) Otherwise I pay for the meal :(
Good luck to all.
DYOR.
Same over here , even not green finish today shortly sp to jump over 170p
I predict a very nice GREEN finish...5G news is a non event....OIL is down...money will flow back into travel...lets hope and see.IMO.
Those are all your beliefs, they are not mine. I tend to follow the bulk of what I regard impartial reporters, (I am not a zealot one way or the other) and also look at the news events showing worsening global effects. I say again, the results if proven correct are too terrible to comprehend. It's my insurance premium. I have and care for my descendants , you may not.
Also though I can see where this all may affect IAG through higher costs, (all airlines will be subject to them so the level field will be maintained) these will be passed on to customers. As you don't have any IAG shares, maybe you should not be spouting this on here. This is after all an IAG board.
You need to consider the difference between what is termed 'fake news' and experts and scientists being called out as bare faced 'liars'. That is somewhat more serious than splitting hairs. If environmentalists were merely faking the news it could be debated and worked with. But what has been going on since Mann et al. and the dog leg or hockey stick graph is far, far more serious than fake news and the consequences as they begin to come into view are a real world threat to our ordered society.
And you extra few quid will have zero impact on anything the climate will do. All of the extra few quids will no impact whatsoever. You are simply being mugged by greedy evangelists who are far more concerned with their own quality of materialistic life and social superiority. Carbon dioxide makes up 0.04% of the earth's atmosphere. Plants life is completely incapable of altering the balance of gases, no matter how many trees you plant or natural fires you stop. So every time you pay for carbon offsetting you are simply handing your money over to highly paid busy bodies on various committees and foundations taking a cut of the money pot. And it turned out these people weren't even aware that the trees were worse for the environment and they wanted to carpet bomb billions of square miles with them!!! A major disaster in the making. That's what happens when there isn't open discussion on all sides. But there is a great deal more worse things to come.
"I never said "fake news", I said lies "
LOL! Is that splitting hairs or what??
As I continue to say, the ramifications of climate change are too disastrous to comprehend. I am willing to pay a few quid if it in any way would help avert it.
I just wondering who wouldn't?
I never said "fake news", I said lies because the people who construct this propaganda that is placed at the top of search lists by the likes of google manipulating results knowingly fiddle the data, are selective in measuring techniques to skew results towards a preconceived conclusion and then use false comparatives such as average data to make false scenario claims for easy public consumption. And then, to protect the lies there is a wide network of people to attack and delete any questioning of what is going on. No other field of science or research has such a closed culture of cross examination and that is because it takes a few moments of applying basic real world science, real world observations and real world analysis to wipe out all of the environmentalists claims.
You can fight the good fight on their behalf and assist in g the cover up and promulgating the big lie, but the questions and realities of what is being present are piling up just off camera and will eventually spill into view in the exact same way the expert community is now being outed over the hysterical covid claims.

https://www.c2es.org/content/wildfires-and-climate-change/
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-57969877
And before you say, "Ah, those are fake news" it's simply the first ones I found after a google search.
As I said, it's like insurance, I'll pay a few quid to potentially protect my descendants and those from others too. Maybe those who cannot afford it should consider less risky investments than shares.
"newly fired burned or parched", evidence! Overzealous management of natural back burning and people setting up homes and businesses in natural fire zones is the problem. Fire is an essential component in natural regeneration and has been a long time before man arrived. Germination of species in those zones only takes place with fire. Stopping it, as the environmentalists do, is causing imbalances and damage to ecosystems. Let the fires burn naturally and stop trying to live in the fire zones!
"more regularly flooded". Drainage intervention by environmentalists trying to landscape environments to fit their personal idea of what the natural world should look like has caused terrible flood problems during natural heavy rain. Water that would naturally run of the land is more and more directed into environmentalists side channels to protect this or that habitat which should be flooded as part of that habitats natural cycle. And as far as sea levels are concerned the tectonic plate movement is responsible for sea level changes which impacts on people who have moved into areas that have always been susceptible to sea ingress which is easily seen by the landscaping and type of vegetation that establish a long time before mankind ever existed.
"melted icecaps", except when the ice extent is extended it isn't reported, when it is regressed it is headline news, but in overall reality the ice caps extend and retreat every single year with NO change in sea level. The data to force fit the theory of disappearing ice caps is highly selective. The north pole is supposed to have disappeared years ago. It had one the largest sea ice extents measured recently.
The natural world does not run on artificial average values. It is dynamic, variable and extents are extreme. The false statistical comparison with averages has been the fraud from the start of this climate crap. It is all about the money and the big lie of climate change needs to be outed and stopped before the environmentalists do irreparable damage to natural habitats and society bankrupts itself back to medieval existence.
