Agree on the location thing, SA found it and it was theirs after that. The varient Is 1 of probably 50 doing the rounds. Only the prominent ones we name and hear about.
Politicians posture, look like they're acting fast in the people's interest. Really they're looking after themselves. Here they didn't want another "Johnson" varient situation.
They all live in an echo chamber. I actually thought amongst all the hatred and partisan bias nonsense they were all relatively educated smart people that could infact think logically, and have a bit of self awareness... Turns out they're just pumped up students with good salaries who evidently failed drama class because they're terrible actors.
It is interesting how various governments reacted to the initial description of the number of mutations on Omicron as 'horrific', yet a few days latter the reaction to the news that symptoms are only mild has a much more sanguine reaction. It is easy to extrapolate from that, that there could be years of knee jerk reactions to come.
Alternatively, I wonder how much of the initial reaction is being regretted already. Clearly not in Hong Kong. But the WHO is at least trying to give a route out. This massive overreaction might result in a procedure being put in place for the future, especially as it is becoming obvious this variant has been around in the rest of the world for a while before SA reporting it.
Perhaps if they stopped using the region of reporting a variant to name it, would help. If they started using something like, for example, greek letters [keep it in the west somehow!] then people will not think in terms of origin location which it is known from the other variants to be of no help. Think I'll contact the WHO and let them know of my idea, what do you think the chances of it being used are, lol??
Agreed! BB on Bitcoin , but no idea when it will happen though! In the mean time speculators and some funds making lot of money
Heard a few folk say they were leaving the BBC because they couldn't speak their minds basically. Andrew Marr and Andrew Neil both hinted at it.
Theyre not selling the cure they're selling treatments, they'll adapt their vaccine and sell it to us until the cows fly. They don't care about morality. If I can fly I won't be taking more than the 2 I've had. I dont need it.
All of this obscures the fact that 99.9% of people needn't worry about this. Pathetic

And the response to big pharma is not going well as they are talking up as much as they can more and more boosters as the profit motive is obvious. One day, we may NEED a new booster for real, but will big pharma have simply convinced everybody they are only in it for the money? Interesting to know who behind the scenes is feeding the mass media the narrative. These marketing departments are very sophisticated in who to target and what to whisper in the ear!
One of the reasons I wouldn't touch bitcoin or any of the derivatives. There is no reference point to gauge relative values in the real world, like payroll numbers that have some market push/pull within the data. I have no idea if a £1 bitcoin purchased is actually worth 1p or £1000. At when the true real value is discovered one day, I suspect it will be a Ponzi value, and when that happens it will be immediately non-convertible to hard currency. So many people are going to get burnt with that one...
Low unemployment figure means more close to the day when interest rate rises
i'm literally in the same boat. Fingers crossed
Announcement at 13:30 I believe
Certainly had a big impact last time the SP was up big on the surprise low unemployment claims. Hope for another surprise.
US payroll will dominate share price today because it is a fundamental that bots and mm use to gauge relative values, like interest rates or borrowing etc.....
Hopefully sooner rather than later. Hate staring at a loss. Even if I intend on holding, it still bums me out lol
Average I haven't worked out exactly but it's about 160 now I think.
Overall £50k invested...but sitting on a loss obviously.
Expect another few days of uncertainty, everyone is just guessing atm. I bought more this morning at 133.6 worryingly over committed to this, but new shares are more of trade than holding.
I was expecting the SP up and to stay up today...
Does anyone know what's causing it to fall again?
