Both their previous short positions lasted less than two weeks....
If this is followed they close their short position in 10 days or so, taking the price up to over the 7p level....hmmmm
The report date for that short position update was Friday 26th, the price dipped marginally that day.
Interesting to track it through the days and weeks ahead.
Who do you want to trust?
Orion, Glencore, La Mancha
OR
A two bit shorter (SCUM)
Increased short but share price is higher ?
Hmm
They've increased their short according to this.

I think the notorious MBS has other more pressing issues to think about ie suppressing dissent, buying football clubs, hosting sports events and Justin Bieber concerts to clean his medieval image, importing the finest hookers petro dollars can buy to add to his hareem.
Yeah it's a bit of a stretch taking out a 13m share short against what will soon be 4.2bn shares to bring down the EV battery market.
Well there has been nothing else to talk about...
blimey, conspiracy theories abound.... taking a short on a junior mine focused on Stainless steel initially to destory the EV market and maintain the fossil fuel dominance..... the saudis are currently buying crappy football clubs (mine ) and investing in anything they can!
Your all reading far too much into this - just a simple small prop shop taking a delta neutral position on the placement
Pretty easy arb to skim a small profit . look like their last position they took was on a similar sized uk bookbuild by cana,
wouldn't worry about it or dissect it any more than that.
Their transactions are all shown in SAR. Where a company is incorporated is not necessarily where their money comes from.
Ivor-okay Dubai/Middle East.
Picked-as I understand it the placing shares will only count towards the net position once they are admitted for trading on Dec 22nd.The Saudis would have been pre-marketed to ahead of the placing along with a large number of other institutions. They could have easily worked out that the placement was going to be much larger than the market expected, hence the shares would collapse on Wednesday morning which they did.But if I remember correctly they remained at above 7.3p bid for several hours giving plenty of time to short without breaking NDA rules, which would not allow them to short ahead of Wednesday's open.I remain convinced the Saudis are firmly in the placing book.Covering shorts in secondary placements is an often used hedge fund tactic, which our brokers should have known all about.
They are not Saudi.

Bwana - surely a net short has to take account of both shares held and short sold? I guess we will only really know later in December if that was the case.
Just as a 'what if', they saw the offer and short sold (without taking the subscription up) against the open market price? There were some meaty trades that first day.
I am definitely suspicious of the motives here too, the Saudis having more than a little vested interest in the EV market not taking off.
If the Saudis took part in the placing (which I would bet good money on they did), they will simply close the short or most of the short via placing shares.Given the low quality book in February,I am yet to be persuaded that the book was significantly better this time round.Had we had a hugely oversubscribed placement we would have placed at 7.5p and the takers would have had to fill up there positions in the aftermarket taking up all the PI selling supply. This has patently has not happened.I think the climb up from here will initially be quite slow. However, hopefully management do not want the embarrassment of all the new 7p placing shares entering the market at 6.5p on Dec 22nd and will hence do all they can to at least get the market price to 7p.
Role on the share consolidation, the move off AIM and hopefully the appointment of a strong global Investment bank replacing our current second division lot of brokers.
