Stix, we should have asked someone to camp out on the West side with one!
No doubt pics will appear soon.
lol
I checked , its a cafe webcam , looking probably n/e so no chance to see TO
need a webcam on the west side of shetland .
gla on a commercial result !
ADUK, thx. We wouldn't want folks to worry unnecessarily if flaring was observed to have temporarily ceased.
stix, have checked the link you posted (per Lady Sonia's post) the red light on the left belongs to the lighthouse outhouse buildings, or residential buildings adjacent to the lighthouse. The white light on the right is the lighthouse light, the smaller light below the lighthouse light is on a small boat coming in to harbour.
Yobbo,
"Its many, many years since I was occasionally involved with well tests (from a nice warm office onshore), but I recall they normally flare continuously for about 24 hours on a DST, and then shut it down to do various tests to check the rate at which the reservoir recovers / communicates which may involve re-lighting the flare again a few times ?"
Seems like nobody's been kind enough to respond to your post, but yes, your recollections are correct. Flow periods (usually involving changes in choke size) interspersed with shutin pressure buildup intervals. Depending on what's being observed, and how the DST's been planned, shutins may be just as long as flow periods, so lack of a flare for several hours doesn't mean anything negative.
actually - check at 15.55.57 - what's that? Can the TO be viewed from here? If you can make out there's something that looks to be emanating from a rig ...?
lol
Nope, that's a lamppost.
