Oil.com China's superpower status at risk
While China is doing its best to boost its own energy production , it maybe to little to late. China's demand for fuel is insatiable
cannot be met without massive imports that china relies upon. IEA reported in June natural gas and oil consumption to double
Trade war still with US, instability middle east
oil goes up
Finally had some time to catch up on reading this week.
With regard to the recent 'rise', Marshall Wace opened a new short on 15 October and increased it on 23 October - that coincided with a spike. A pump and dump while we're in the doldrums. I'd say the rise was unconnected to anything other than that. Too far off for drill results - signs of which expected mid to late November.
Empty Vessel - You are right, of course. Please remind me what this important discussion is about?
The price of HUR is what it is. That's the only reason 99.99% of us are here. The rest are just to sow confusion and chaos.
Have a great weekend...
Spirit are as yet unsold and seem to be investing and committing to the Chestnut field.

as are Zennor which is also up for sale.

Interesting to read Mr Rowe's comment about them all being "big boys", and the timeframe.
When is that 120 days up??
EV
There’s no sarcasm and no G&T’s
You are doing your best to rubbish Spirit.
Answer the question:
Will Spirit fail to meet their commitment to the farmin deal and if so when.
EV
When do do expect the Spirit deal to fall apart.
Can you predict this with the same accuracy as the next offload.
Yes, Paolo111 -- All those negatives you list, and a thousand other minor issues that Dr. T can handle, and he will let us know if there is a SERIOUS problem, as promised.....
Have a good weekend......
"For some time now, it has felt as though something was going on in the background holding the SP down.".
- what, like poorer than expected flow rates, uncertainty over long term flow from a granite reservoir, and a bad drill result ?
Emptyvessel
For some time now, it has felt as though something was going on in the background holding the SP down.
Regarding the debottlenecking cost, we will just have to hope that A.S. has made the get out clauses to exspensive for Spirit to walk away from
Re Wednesday;s Price Rise.
Noted, Laserdisc's Spirit/Ineos link ,on ADVFN, (link is seven days old) , but at least attracts interest as to what HUR are doing WOS to a wider audience?
“While there is still money to be made, some of these companies will be on the hunt for more. M&A deal spend in the UK has already surpassed $5 billion this year — the highest since 2012,”

Line EV up against the wall....
Yes . Low volume being traded today; so a slight dip on small volume is not a technical weakness.
JAdam and TDG says its going up, and so it will.
In keeping this a happy BB, anyone saying this is going down will be shot !
Yup, don't question it Daltry. Being 'nice' to one another rarely killed anyone. Could do with more of it here for sure.
Why is everyone being 'nice' to each other? Normally, it's a ****ging session.
It must be because the SP has bumped up a bit. Makes us feel richer!
May it long continue....
On reflection best of luck to you all if the big one happens .
Well deserved for sticking it out
Oh it was Pmo I sold , only happened once that big in years of trading
SG
A black swan event may come along when you least expect it , did for me recently when someone bombed the Saudi oil refiner, couldn’t sell quick enough on the Monday
Anyway technically if you stick with your strategy these small rises and dips are of no concern, nice though the jumps are . You are in it for the big payday and the big payday only.
You could be waiting for years
TDG; you're annoying - because you're right, largely. (I'm going to pin a bit of hope on Shell or CNooC puting some money up, though......and it probably won't be when we expect it, so i'll risk and hold. Doh.)
gla
Spruce - Not boring or predictable. You have covered all the points ! How can you be wrong?
Well done pleased to see a good rise for long term holders , happy to see all the paper shareholding’s increase in value .
Nearly bought in at 41 something but didn’t, can’t moan HUR made me a small fortune
If it hits 45 p take profits or cut your losses IMO.
Best of luck to you all enjoy the rise
Dalts; hereare three:
1. Following release of WW (crestal) results, the sp will decline from peak by about 15% until the next eps update is released. 2. TDG will be back stating his buy-inpoint is about to be reached (and (b) how much profit he has made, and (c) how stupid are those of us who don't do the same). 3. I will respond by reminding him of the big cheese: a major buy-in/out.
how's that - boring and predictable?!
GLA
Tiggerman - it is definitely your special magic that’s causing this SP Spirit(pun!) to head to the sky! Are you there? (hold hands) Are you there?
Apart from TA Prof. JAdam, who else can predict the future and say, “ I told you so!“ ??
(I generally think of BASF in regards to good tape cassettes.....)
Still got all mine. Just a shame about BASF's history.
Keep that hat on I hope ur not burning .
SotB we know nothing.......
Street yes I made a mistake when reading your post, apologies. I blame the weather here in Florida!
Frankly all these shenanigans tell me we know sfa. I’m taking solace from the relative strength in the SP and the fact we seem to have stable production from the EPS which gives not just revenue but more vitally underscores the entire concept.
