Anyone care to guess when a flare is expected/likely to be seen?
Red's "guess" was spot on with the offload, and looking forward to get the 450k confirmed. I also hope LC stands for 'loads of cash' as a recent poster hoped for.
It would be nice to get RSN tomorrow just to acknowledge to the market that we have bagged our first million barrels and that the Lancaster well continues to outperform. ATBLTH's
Couldn't agree more. The level of false claims was a disgrace, upheld by courts. Haliburton effectively let off with slapped wrists. Special relationship between our countries? Yep, bend over Brits and drop your trousers. Wasn't even in the Trump era.
I wish I was the Obama aide who must have kicked him on the shins and told him to shut up as half the BOD was American and a huge amount of US pensions were invested in it.
johnpwh (and ash),
The worst of it was, the operation was entirely run by BP America. Not a single Brit was involved. And BP traded under those initials, 'British Petroleum' having been dropped as a name donkey's years ago.
The assorted inquiries and subsequent trials were a shamefull farce, and of course the yanks have their absurd 'fifth ammendment' whereby a witness may refuse to testify in case they incriminate him or her selves. A large numbér of tthe survivors and shore staff 'took the fifth", which rhymes with 'took the pith'.
I assume that Barack "British Petroleum" Obama carefully chose the judges.
Or maybe Halliburton with their massive political clout chose them.
Anyone and everyone from anywhere in the USA could sue BP and the judge would award them $millions.
Johnpwh
I assume you comment is tongue in cheek.
Nevertheless it is worth comparing with the British response to the Piper Alpha disaster.
The Cullen Inquiry was critical of Piper Alpha's operator, Occidental, which was found guilty of having inadequate maintenance and safety procedures, but no criminal charges were ever brought against the company.
Wow Ash. What a cynical view! American companies escaping punishment while BP was screwed virtually bankrupt. That would never happen surely....

I've never trusted Transocean since the Gulf of Mexico when they missed/ignored obvious warning signs that something was very wrong.
They never really suffered in court because they are US, like Cameron International and Halliburton.
Snail,
"It's nearer 5 months AD !"
Tempus Fugits....
It's nearer 5 months AD !
Snail,
"Taught me a lot that did . £100 well spent ."
Wow. Wish you'd told me that story three months ago.
All I'm saying is for somebody that comes on here making big claims to have reputable sources close to the TO drill and obviously so keen to help the humble PI, I'm surprised that they did not highlight the failure of the DST and/or the lack of drilling fluid losses on the WD drill at the time.
To say that it was because they were not registered on LSE is a bit lame to say the least.
It's up to all of you to disseminate the information posted on here and decide for yourselves who is genuine and who is not.
All I would say is the last poster similar to RO was Heidhoncho (one and the same ?)
He cropped up at a very similar time in the WD drilling schedule and was very positive about the way the drill was going and look what happened there.
Advise caution, that is all.
GLA.
Hi Green I like the saying and this has no bearing on Red or trust in him . I was in the electrical retail game before selling out and retiring just in time . On just two occasions when down on the sales floor because my staff were all tied up with customers I said to people who were looking at ex-rental equipment " just take it with you and if its what you want come back in and pay me ." I never saw either of them again or the kit. It was only stuff worth around £50 each and I did it as an experiment in human nature ......didn't take a name or address . Taught me a lot that did . £100 well spent .
Johnpwh, I agree and it reminded me of something a customer of mine said to me years ago and it was "I'll trust you until I cannae" and it's something I've used myself.
Just found time for a bit of a catch up. Can I say that I am a bit surprised at the almost rabid backlash that Red October faced. Pretty much everyone here has never met anyone else on the board For all you lot know I may be a cross dressing HGV driver from Ecclefechan, though in these enlightened times that would probably make me an asset. My point is that everyone has to be accepted on trust, give the guy a break. He may have contacts, maybe he hasn't. Just don't choke off a potential source of information. We are all a bit jumpy at the moment about LC after WD and so many expect a repeat. Confidence is easily shaken (witness the SP) but thank gawd Lancaster appears to be romping along.
ash666,
"Am I right in thinking it is Petrofac that is doing the drilling? For a company of that stature 3 fishes in 2 wells is pretty damn awful."
Transocean is the Drilling Contractor, 'doing' the actual 'doing' of the drilling.
It's being 'managed' by Petrofac / SPD 'supervision'.
And yes, with 3 fishing jobs in two wells, someone deserves a rocket up their arse.
"If rumours are correct (and I underline I have NO 'inside info' right now), that's three fishing jobs on two wells. Not good."
Am I right in thinking it is Petrofac that is doing the drilling?
For a company of that stature 3 fishes in 2 wells is pretty damn awful.
And this is on top of the hook-up fiasco which came after the AM running into power problems soon after leaving Dubai.
Thank God we've got one well up and running.
Iamlovingit,
I have 'recommend ticked' your post, and wish I could do so ten times, but it doesn't work. Wish it did.
Big 10-4.
Iamlovingit,
" whats a well without a fishing op?"
A happy one. 'Fishing jobs' (of course with 20/20 hindsight, afterwards) are 99% of the time 'avoidable'. If you have a 45% 'wellrate' without having to fish, you're doing OK. But 'doing OK' is rather lacksadaisical. 83%? yeah, maybe that's OK.
If rumours are correct (and I underline I have NO 'inside info' right now), that's three fishing jobs on two wells. Not good.
This is in no way a negative reflection on Hurricane per se. But if the bit got stuck again during the buildup section, or something like that, as a sharholder I start (inwardly) asking some questions.
Though I asked one last night, and it remained unanswered. Is the TOL a 'happy' rig? It may seem a trite question, but isn't one. As a shareholder in Hurricane (the Operator), Transocean doesn't seem to have performed too well during this campaign.
It’s a wellwell?
Iamluvingit,
(Like the pseudo, by the way! It can be fun here.)
HOWEVER...
" the ADUK turns up and says he suspected fishing had been going on with the hotshot trips to Scrabster, as if he never knew"
I've put it in an earlier post, but I'll repeat it again in the most formal terms possible. I KNEW nothing. I have no 'inside-track' connections to the company's operations. Privvy to some well-founded rumours, sometimes, but I haven't even contacted those people during this well.
But (as explained in other posts), if the supply-boat heads for Scrabster, my heart sinks... It's a 'hotshot' of some sort.
OK?
Are you suggesting I knew? I didn’t but I’m not slow, at least not compared to some.
Ouch! On the contrary, you have exposed yourself as a total buffoon, your cred has absolutely diminished now. The fact is I wasn't on this site previously, you and your pals were, and didn't see the warning signs, thats not my responsibility and then you bizarrely say that i should have warned you? Are you special needs? Scuttle away now as your clogging up the airways!
RO,
I don't pretend to know the drill results beforehand.
You seem to be intimating that you do with the quote "it makes you wonder if someone like old RED' with all his contacts would have been useful at that time?"
Which begs the question, for one so keen to help us all, why didn't you tell us about lack of drilling fluid losses at the time ?
With all those contacts it shouldn't have been a problem. Same drilling rig.
I think you've now blown your cover on here. You are a fake.
I'm sure people will make up their own minds and that's their prerogative. However, you are being picked up left, right and centre as a fraud and the more you post the more obvious it is. All very positive on HUR until the sucker punch.
GLA.
I could not help but noticing that the people who have criticised me over the last couple of days with regards to my posts have posted on the HUR site hundreds and even thousands of posts, in fact seem to be acting as custodians of the site, which is really admirable.
Given that you guys seem to know everything, then why didn't you use your obvious expertise & knowledge to warn other people on this site of the WD debacle, it makes you wonder if someone like old RED' with all his contacts would have been useful at that time?
