Birling: you raise valid points. Presumably CA have been seeling-down since the bell on the morning of the WW rns; their avg sale price mid-thirties (??) perhaps. However, despite their 4.3 m sub-30 share buy over the last few days, they are still 9.5m short of their previous holding, or ~0.5% of Hur's shares - which now reside elsewhere, and thus reduce his manipulation pool (maybe). Shame RB helped trash the sp to bail-out his fund - one might think a better strategy for CA would be to keep their winners.
atb - Warren.
oh f**k, just woke up - sorry - atb, SG2
No insinuation intended Adoubleuk, just my imagination running away of some clandestine meetings in smoke filled rooms at establishments such as 'The Grill'
Birling,
Interesting bit of insinuation you're putting on my comment. To the extent that I want to instantly edit and modify one bit.
"That doesn't NECESSARILY preclude involuntary slips of the tongue POSSIBLY occurring, of course. IN MY OPINION."
I'll also add a disclaimer. I have never met Mr Bernstein, and none of the BoD except one, and that was before he worked for HUR.
And anyway, NDA's and confidentiality clauses in employees' contracts notwithstanding, and if one was 'invested' to six or seven-figure sums, it would be incredibly easy to obtain 'realtime news' of operations in a place like Aberdeen fo a nominal outlay. 'Industrial espionage' isn't just a dramatic phrase used in paperback thrillers.
Nice to be able to hear a 'slip of the tongue' if it helps your decision to flog a few shares and then buy some to raise £3.5m and also gain an extra 4.3m shares ontop as a free bonus.
Northc,
" suspect Mr Bernstein as a 5% shareholder has the ability to speak to Hur company directors directly and ask the questions we would all like answers to."
Yes, past communicatins suggest that Mr B does 'actively interact with the company' which I do NOT interpret as meaning that he practices ju-jitsu with the BoD, but that they do sometimes talk. However, even if he can ask direct questions, that doesn't mean they're going to divulge confidential inside information to him before it becomes public knowledge.
That doesn't preclude involuntary slips of the tongue occurring, of course.
The timing is interesting as we normally get RNS of this sort in the morning. I did wonder if we might get another one first thing!
Must admit my heart was in my mouth when I saw that Red Dot , perfect time to release bad news I thought to myself ,5;54pm on Election Day........... so relieved it was only CA playing games again.:O)
I suspect Mr Bernstein as a 5% shareholder has the ability to speak to Hur company directors directly and ask the questions we would all like answers to.

Think the main point here is actually they expect the SP to rise? Will the usual selling happen? Yes. So what? The SP will continue to rise ... (OK and maybe fall in between ... but that's how it is for now)
Have they not just caused the drop to buyback cheap ??
Better than "being coned"
Think CA back buying is a great vote of confidence, good news.
Only 4 , plus will be topping up the wife's ISA soon . This is fire sale territory . Next year Rodney we will all be millionaires https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiIIkQO95z4
Sonso - you must have a lot of kids :)
"Subsequently when the SP retraced I got the quote for £5.5k, looks like a spoof drop to me to perhaps pick up cheap shares from mugs of over-stretching shorters."
Can you explain precisely what a "spoof drop" is please? Are you suggesting "they" just move the price about in a fashion designed to manipulate the market?
Just bought more in the kids ISA's , no probs. Will top up all the way down to 10p if Labour get in.
They just dropped the SP into negative territory so I tied to buy some, HL couldn't get a quote except for a few hundred.
Subsequently when the SP retraced I got the quote for £5.5k, looks like a spoof drop to me to perhaps pick up cheap shares from mugs of over-stretching shorters.
