"... are now asserting that UKOG's water ingress problem will definitely be solved, presumably on the basis that any company they adopt can surmount any problem, whereas HUR obviously cannot."
If Carlsburg did Karma, it would look like this.
:-))
agreed
Littlened I was perhaps being a little hasty previously......but for Albi1’s sake I think we’ve said enough.
Yes I agree that many things have not yet changed and we are trying to agree a trade deal, but we have left the EU.There is no other way to leave except LEGALLY !! Get a life and move on
Little ned during the transition period which started on the 1st Feb and is due to end in December, the UK will continue to follow all of the EU's rules and its trading relationship will remain the same.
If you think we’ve left then that’s good for you, we’ve done so legally only and we’ve still to be escorted off the premises.
How we’re treated once out the door has yet to be established.
I imagine he’s referring to the fact we’ve months of negotiating trade agreements yet and we will not know the implications until they’re sorted.
I see AS resignation is met with silence here.
Well well. You are the only person left in the world who thinks we haven’t left the EU.Why do you persist in this delusion .?
AK the ****wit comment wasn’t aimed at you but the other “we’ve already left the EU” when we haven’t yet poster.
"Yup that confirms it. You’re a ****wit."
Thanks for the compliment, Wellwell.
But I bet I get a lot more fun living my f**kwit life, playing poker, being kissed on the cheek by young ladies, (though nothing more than that), STILL corresponding with people trying to try to find the certificate for the casing crossover which failed and led to the Macondo blowout, and so on, than I suspect you do. Plus drinking a lot sometimes, while getting together an upcoming exhibition of motorsports photos of mine which a local gallery wants to put on their wall. The following month it will be oilrig pics. Just to show off.
(Want to know why Aston Martin has chosen pink as the colour for their new F1 racer? People are wondering about it, but I know who's slept with who, and thus why.)
Heck, at my age, having fun is the bottom line. Money is secondary.

"Profound global strategising Adouble, unlike you to hit such a serious note."
Maybe unusual for me to comment in such a way, on a rather OT thing, but that's the way my mind works, and I don't mind writing about it if such a subject emerges.
Because the world economy is being 'hit' by this Coronavirus scare, and it 'hits' shareholders like myself.
That's what worries me. Not coming down with the 'flu. Nor (if push comes to shove, dyeing of pneumonia. There are worse ways to go.
From a distance, I'm more interested (and worried) about people in England having their houses flooded, and stuff like that.
All right treading water a bit tonight. Forgive me. On an up note of all my shares today Hurricane was the only one in the blue!

"When presented with the facts and facts are ignored the conclusion is inevitable."
But is it? Or is it a matter of perception, and is that perception simply a reflection, one of many possible variables and therefore being the case, pointless to judge it as good or bad? Ergo - Manners maketh manner is not only polite but deeply profound and full of pathos?
Albi - When presented with the facts and facts are ignored the conclusion is inevitable.

"After that date we'll find out who was right."
Give it 20 years and many of us won't be here to know who was right. Tis done, so our destinies are changed!
Wellwell
I sense of late your equipoise is not quite centred. Manners maketh man, calling your fellow man a ****wit because he doesn't understand the intricacies of bureacracy and political dealmaking is really not necessary.
Profound global strategising Adouble, unlike you to hit such a serious note. My only takeaway is everything is changeable and subject to circumstance so not quite all hope lost yet ...
Yup that confirms it. You’re a ****wit.
Longwait,
"I just read an article about the virus and world economy.... after finishing reading it, I looked out of the window to check the world was still there."
Yup, still there, in all its Orwellian glory!
Strange how thing pan out, isn't it? A flu-like virus originates in China, which although most people who catch it just get a cold or some 'flu, some others (probably with a weak immune system) develop pneumonia and die. A few thousand so far over a couple of months when in the same period of time at least 100,000 people will have died in road traffic accidents.
The media (these days 'uncontrolled' ) goes into a spin, telling people 'not to panic'. Which of course causes people to think they're smarter than the media, and... panic.
One result? The economies of the Western Democratic Capitalist countries worldwide (as represented by their stockmarkets) go into tailspin. The price of oil plummets.
But at the same time, with a retreat into 'safe havens', the price of physical gold goes up (Something I'm personally taking advantage of!)
Who has been the biggest buyer / stockpiler of physical gold over the last three years or so? China. Who is prepared to deal oil directly for gold? China, Russia, and certain middle-eastern countries. Who stands to lose the most from cheap Chinese imports like motor-industry parts? That place called 'The West', not the Chinese factory-workers where the plant has been shut down, 'cos they're paid a pittance anyway and have probably got a chicken or two running free in their appartment-block bathroom to lay some eggs, or to kill and roast when push comes to shove.
There's a lot more than this whole thing than just another virus. And it ain't a 'killer disease' like Ebola, which is a very nasty thing indeed.
We have different views as to what is out obviously .However we are legally out of the EU,we are no longer members of the EU,we have no MEP's .WE ARE OUT OF THE EU
littlened I'm sure that we should not continue this on here but let me say this;
I fully accept we are 'leaving' the EU. I argue however that we haven't left yet despite what you may think as until the end of the transition period little has changed compared to before the 31st Jan 2020.
The final relationship with the EU hasn't even been framed yet. It may be a close relationship with equal standards, shared values and common ambition. Or if that is not the direction the UK wishes to take, and it will be the UK's decision, then the final relationship will probably result in a WTO NO DEAL trading terms.
If you don't agree with anything I've just written then you're just a ****wit.
Well well,You are on a different planet to everyone, even Lord Heseltine has accepted Brexit.Whatever the economic consequences may be,the majority decision had to be implemented .That is democracy.
Yes but we get a chance to have a blue passport
As you doubtless recall, Double, certain UKOG posters were posting lies about HUR some weeks ago, including claims that HUR has a big water cut problem, capable of sinking the company.
I know you used to enjoy an occasional visit to the UKOG BB to see what they were writing about us, and you may recall that we received some unwelcome visits from them, and that two of them were subsequently banned.
In one of those ironic twists of fate, I regret to inform you that UKOG have a water ingress problem and the company is doing its best to fix it.
The regular posters there, who had been lapping up water cut stories and were able to assert - with not a shred of evidence - that in spite of HUR's denials that any such problem existed, HUR had a BIG water cut problem,
are now asserting that UKOG's water ingress problem will definitely be solved, presumably on the basis that any company they adopt can surmount any problem, whereas HUR obviously cannot.
I thought I should let you know.
The UK is absolutely NOT out of the EU. Nothing has changed of any significance yet. Trade continues without tariffs or checks. There is no deal yet nor are we close to one and the more the UK sends messages that we want to move in a different direction to the EU in relations to standards, shared values and common ambition then the only conclusion will be NO DEAL.
Now that will make some people happy but those people are frankly idiots. No one surely would suggest that maintaining our current food and animal welfare standards is somehow being vassal to the EU would they? Seems so and to really put two fingers up to johnny foreigner we must instead diverge and that means a close trading relationship is in jeopardy when maintaining the standards would promote a close but still separate relationship.
So what's the objective? Closer ties to the USA it seems and why anyone would want that is beyond my comprehension.
ex - i am sure there are. the ones i noticed were mostly travellers. for example i had been waiting for the bus into the centre when i got a text about the much easier and cheaper tram. As i Left about 30 chinese arrivals passed me - all with surgical masks. Same as when I left a week later. since flights had been stopped from china i was surprised. I had a flat very close to main train station and saw a lot chinese people with suitcases. a train journey to pisa was also heavily populated with chinese people.
Could be spread by anyone - but it is a numbers game too. Actually thinking about it - it was the week before the chinese new year. guess italy was a popular choice this year. good taste!
