I'm sure you don't really mean that you wish the Aoka Mizu had sunk Donscot. The lads on there are just normal working chaps and I myself walked the decks of the ship in Sembawang - and a lovely FPSO she is too.
But your frustration is tangible and sings loudly from the page. We are in a time where governments are determined to destroy countries by alienating this industry's products way ahead of time and readiness and it's not going to take too long before they realise that the fridges, the roads, the ball bearings, the fertilisers, the soaps and even the vitamins are becoming too expensive to produce.
Oil might be the ugly duckling at the moment but once that little kiddy goes back to school then oil will be seen for what it is again - vital in today's world.
Hang on to your HUR shares and wait for a few years IMHO. It is for once an oil company with a future - be it takeover or simple straightforward growth. I can only speak on operational matters so if the intention is to ramp from current levels to 20Kbbl/day then there is clearly nothing significantly wrong with the well design and there's a whole bunch of cash in the bank. Try to look ahead beyond the horizon and do try not to think ill of the lads on the vessel. Or sinking for that matter :-)

So they are! Dspp qualifying his previous posts yet more, dissociating himself from anything he's written (at least in proffessional terms), and a surprise appearance by our old friend Pijoe.
Some serious backpedalling happening. Maybe because it's backfired on them, as well.
Just catching up on the BB from bedtime last night and read this. In light of this morning's RNS it did make me wonder whether DSPP backpeddling was due to some insider knowledge of what was to come this morning. Who knows but credibility seriously dented
Wellwell,
"Right now any theory is a good theory!"
I wasn't proposing that idea as anything as solid as a theory, nor even as a tenuous hypothesis. Just one of those notions that may occur through pale fawn fluff at three in the morning. Something maybe happening as a fact in some parallel universe...
But not impossible. I agree with others that the lack of a company response to this SP drop is 'interesting' in the light of their rapid November response to a share rise, but the lack of an 'operational update' indicates to me that operationally there's nothing new to report, and things are more or less on track.
So instead, I think it's reasonable to think that something else is happening at high (corporate) levels, but about which it would be inappropriate to report at present. And that 'the City' has got wind of this, and is determinedly driving the SP low in order to make a huge profit a bit later on...
Of course, that might be wishful thinking.
JF,
"God, LF are on full alert tonight!"

Come on Doctor, let us know what you think!

"Firstly I have to say I realised you may not like being addressed as Aduk. I actually sound this out as A D U K not 'a duck' . Having tried ADouble recently it just didn't scan right so I'm going back to Aduk unless it is annoying in which case I shall get over my scanning issues!"
Call me whatever you want, so long as you don't call me late for dinner!
Jock,
Re: 'But - whoever does buy Spirit may well open up a clearer interest in a farm-in or more with HUR going forward.'
From Spirit to Spark?
https://www.energyvoice.com/oilandgas/north-sea/217403/spark-exploration-targets-deal-on-billion-barrel-west-of-shetland-licences/
Alibi - Centrica have given guidance of selling Spirit by Q3, and given the problems within Br Gas, etc, I cannot see them having the time or motivation to encourage Spirit to bid for HUR.
But - whoever does buy Spirit may well open up a clearer interest in a farm-in or more with HUR going forward.

Firstly I have to say I realised you may not like being addressed as Aduk. I actually sound this out as A D U K not 'a duck' . Having tried ADouble recently it just didn't scan right so I'm going back to Aduk unless it is annoying in which case I shall get over my scanning issues!
Anyway - "So could Spirit offer 53p a share, which would probably make everyone including the bondholders happy? Might require some backdoor City shenanigans, but not impossible. And then the next day, BP pipe up and say they'd bought Spirit?"
Thought has crossed my mind several times over the last few months ... particularly the BP stepping in bit!

A move to the main market would obviously open the door to larger IIs whose current codes prevent them investing in AIM. At least those funds that have not fully divested from O&G and there are plenty still out there!
aduk, nice idea ref spirit but I don't think Centrica would want[ or allow] Spirit to 'complicate' their business by undertaking any significant corporate action that might make the spirit business more difficult to understand/value. Once sold it could be a different matter.
Right now any theory is a good theory!
Donscot,
I find your posts today possibly the best, especially as you appear to be a rare contributor to the BB.
Because thee SP is certainly a bit distressing, and I'm pretty much for the first time facing a 'paper loss' here, though it won't cause me lost sleep.
Though it might cause me difficulties getting to sleep, because there's something happening that I now don't understand. Sure, the markets everywhere are getting hurt because the Chinese choose to eat snakes. But really, that's not enough to explain an 8% hit on HUR and us riding the snake rather than climbing the ladder.
Some other posters have made some good points. For instance, why did the company issue an RNS to 'quash rumour' on a rising SP but being quiet now? That strikes me as curious. Especially given that the company has explicitly stated that if any 'fundamentals' regarding the Lancaster EPS were seen to have changed (and thus the entire Lancaster evaluation), we'd be notified. Which hasn't happened.
Others talk about 'takeover', usually a classic ploy for traders wanting to 'ramp' a share for their own profit. But now? Hmm. If a takeover is on the cards, it's in the interest of the takeoveree that the SP be as low as possible, and 'desperate' shareholders more likely to agree?
Just for fun (digressing a bit), here's an imaginary scenario for you all to mull over, and maybe laugh about, because it's something of my own invention, just now.
HUR has a partner called Spirit, who's bought into work mainly on GWA, but are privvy to all the details of the results. Spirit are not publicly owned, but Centrica, a co-owner, wants to sell off their share in them. And Centrica are a major 'strategic' domestic energy-provider to the UK. BP is currently buying and marketing Hurricane's oil from Lancaster, which all the way up the ridge to Halifax represents possibly HUGE resources. Neither Spirit nor Hurricane can possibly finance FFD of GLA or GWA themselves. But BP maybe could, and it's on their backdoorstep.
Let's not forget that BP and Shell have together 'coralled' all licences around GLA, except those grabbed by Spark, who are a dark horse.
So how about maybe Spirit doing a 'takeover' of HUR? At a rock-bottom price, when the SP is bumping around at near record lows? The Mcap was once about 1.8 billion, now around 500 million.
So could Spirit offer 53p a share, which would probably make everyone including the bondholders happy? Might require some backdoor City shenanigans, but not impossible. And then the next day, BP pipe up and say they'd bought Spirit?
Never trust an oilman...
WellWell
“ And for those ten days, you haven't been able to sleep even though THERE HASN'T been a horrifying RNS?”
That’s very true and I almost wish I could say reassuring but my insomnia is more down to the actual continual fall in the share price - ok I haven’t sold a single share but just concerned that this continues and I end up losing a great deal more. Surely a reassuring RNS stating they know of no reason at all for this big fall would put minds at rest. They were quick to issue an RNS regarding the recent spike in price
'and as we're on AIM and not the main market this is not having the best effect on the SP at the moment...'
So you wouldn't agree with the poster who opined that a move to the main market wouldn't make a 'jot' of difference?
'About ten days ago I contacted their comma team and was surprised to receive a reply but only stating that the company does not respond to share price movements nor speculation'
And for those ten days, you haven't been able to sleep even though THERE HASN'T been a horrifying RNS?
Somehow, DSPP isn't suffering from insomnia even though he has proven to the satisfaction of myriads of small investors that HUR has an insurmountable water problem, without however selling a single one of his own HUR shares while the market carnage has been taking place.
I suggest that Lemon Fool issue an RNS explaining why DSPP hasn't sold any HUR shares, and BP release an RNS explaining why they are squandering shareholders' cash on water barrels.
If enough people get talking and HUR becomes a hot topic the media will be all over it!
When a sp drops and drops and drops even almost 10% in one day and said company is producing huge amounts people start to ask questions. Leaky ship or jittery holders. Either way the shorts have this... for now.
Donscot
Try to switch off, the assets are there and there is oil in the ground being offloaded. I think this a long planned bear raid. PIs are spooked, stop losses shattered and as we're on AIM and not the main market this is not having the best effect on the SP at the moment. CMD just 8 weeks away and I'm sure we'll get an update in the next few weeks.
Get some sleep - the SP may go down but it will also go up.
and so far there has been no media speculation in relation to the share price drop reasons....only BB rumour.
They do respond to speculation.. literally a RNS from 8th Nov titled Response to media speculation.
Sorry obviously meant Mizu - coincidentally i am ina a Moxy hotel right now
