The way this is going at the moment I'll have a heart attack if it gets beyond 10p.
DYOR2 - If HUR hits 25p I will probably have a heart attack. :)
jacqui - Don't be sorry we are proud of our little girl and we all have problems of one sort or another to contend with. I think in this particular situation it was my own fault and it, as you say, is easy for people to jump to conclusions based on what part of a story without knowing the rest
Everyone on this forum I am sure has every sympathy for any parent who has an unfortunate situation and I am sure there are plenty it’s just that we don’t read about them! Sorry you thought it necessary to bring it to my attention
Jacquibic -Everything we earn is used to help our disabled daughter who has 'Chromosome 16p13.11 Microdeletion Syndrome' lead a normal, active and happy life and to make sure there is provision in place to cover her care when we are either dead & buried or no longer physically capable to do so. Outside of that anything else is invested to provide for my retirement which is in 8 years.
Canetios may of jump to conclusions through your very early posts where you gave a glimpse of your CV!
canetois - Tenanted (rented) country estate property. 3 bed, grade 2 listed, timber framed cottage built in 1551 with a wrap around half acre garden consisting of a flower garden, kitchen garden and an orchard plus a workshop. We love our little cottage but the garden is time consuming and expensive to keep on top of. Don't know what made you think I had a big bank balance lol
2 litres suggests big lawn, big lawn suggests big house, big house suggests bid bank balance. So what's the problem. It's the folk with little lawns, or no lawn at all that I worry for. Ride it out.
Simple
When HUR SP hits 25p you won’t have to about paying for the 2 litres to mow your lawn.
But it’s tax. Don’t get this them and us. It’s collected on our behalf. You may not like the way they spend it I realise.
Think yourself lucky, the nearest fuel forecourt to me is 11 miles away so it cost 2 litres of fuel just to drive to fill the tank and come home again. Its getting expensive just to mow the lawn, as that usually takes 2 litres of petrol a time.
Government still banging the drum about possible tax on oil companies profits but never mention how much tax they are scamming off every litre of fuel sold. A quick search of the uk.gov website for Fuel Duty Rates and it’s all there for every man and his dog to see ….you might want to make sure you’re sitting down, preferably with a large scotch and a tissue to wipe away your tears…you’ll either laugh or cry! For every litre of fuel you pump into your vehicle the Duty is 52.95p plus 20% tax so that’s around 90p TAX for every litre .. So that 5p reduction that they were so proud to report , isn’t really that much of a reduction considering how much is still being taken in TAX.
