MTV,
"Holders are clutching at straws for answers, or even a notion as to why its plunging to near historical depths."
Wrong (as usual) again.
You really know nothing about this company (and its SP), do you?
Take your brown nose out of the 'intraday' chart and take a look at the history since IPO. Enough to make you seasick, isn't it? But surely an interesting ride. Especially for those who jumped ship at certain times because the latest port seemed a nice place to pass some time, and then caught up with the vessel (no luxury cruise-ship) to rejoin the voyage.
( Btw, I mean absolutely no offense to someone who likes cruise-ships, who might be reading this BB, and is on dry land at the moment.)
Aqua,
Yes maybe, but better to try and point the 'RumourMongers' to the known facts!, rather than falsely embelish as yet non reported in 'The Grill' unknowns.
EV is a master at that or so he thinks, best stand on the Ramparts with yer boiling pitch and shower them I say :O)
DC,
"wellwell
And whose finger is on the trigger?"
(In reference to Wellwell's comment that the MT Vessel may be a 'weapon'.)
Yes, but so can a rock picked up from the ground be used as a weapon. Or a roofing-tile.. EV is on that level. Nothing so sophisticated as a firearm.
Wondering whether you are being a shade conservative jiffy. Might just get a pointer that the upside scenario added for 2020 based on the many positive indicators spoken of in the Jul CMS update for Lancaster will now lead to an upgrade in production guidance.
EV
‘Until the company release a credible RNS detailing thoroughly the current issues regarding the alleged increase WC then the SP will continue to stagnate at these levels or even lower.’
What are you basing your homemade 'Current Issues' on?
HUR have already responded to WC issues on the 11th July, 02ndSept, and 20th Sept.
20th September
Interim report, Sept 20th , 2019, Page 5
'We have gone to great lengths to explain why we do not expect to see coned aquifer water during the lifetime of the EPS, under our base case. This is our continuing expectation. The perched, or stranded, water we have experienced is consistent with our reservoir model and since our capital markets day presentation this interpretation has been reinforced by the Company’s technical work. Notwithstanding the increase in aggregate perched water production to a sustained rate of approximately 7.5%, water cut remains within expected ranges and is not impacting oil production levels or the cost of production. Now that both flowlines are in operation again, we can see that production from the -6 well continues to be of dry oil. Given the proximity of the wells and strong interference between them, this is supportive of a stranded pocket of water being intersected by the -7Z well. Hurricane’s analysis suggests that current production is only coming from a relatively short section of the borehole in the vicinity of the heel in each well. Over time, fractures further along each well bore are expected to contribute to production, reducing the impact of any individual water-bearing fracture.'
IMO, the forthcoming awaited Dec update will more than likely be in line with guidance .
Get yoursel down to the grill Trigger and spread the word !
Are we talking about the same EV that wrote this on 8th Oct?
"In what may seem sadistic im very comfortable with the SP temporarrily spiraling, im here long term and remain positive, so this will be really interesting to see how the larger funds react to all of this............"
Good question DC.
Sadly we’re in neepville just now and defenceless to the attack from these superior minded individuals. EV is probably one of their leaders but still following orders from some other unknown super group. We can only sit back and marvel at their genius.
'Do not be under any illusions if the next RNS is negative, the SP will go to new lows IMHO, just look at the recent Tullow SP.'
I agree.
If HUR's next RNS announces a slump in production from the EPS and that HUR has acquired about $3 bn in debt, the SP could be in trouble.
The wonder horse... ?
wellwell
And whose finger is on the trigger?
EV - so what your saying is the factors mentioned had no bearing on the SP? really? just down to that RNS?
There is no evidence of increased water cut - just someones scattergraph of figures released by hur (- max 8%) which was better than expected. They havent released an RNS denying my giant squid - but that doesnt mean its true.
i suspect that the notification of december RNS was HUR's attempt at better communication. and giving a news timeline. i doubt even they expected it to be used negatively
EV you are a weapon. There’s no doubting that.
EV... " if the next RNS is negative, the SP will go to new lows " I think that's a given.
bocase - i agree with most of what you post
it has been a perfect storm.....i actually think a lot of the damage was done before tlw.. i recently lost in eco and a large paper profit in i3e. i agree oil is out of fashion - and if anyone lost in those i can see why a quick bail out would seem a good idea. the thing here though is that production has not been affected - results are better than expected at lancaster. so it should recover easier.
friday hopefully will put another risk out of the way - i think the market fears corbyn.
the fact that a couple of shorts opened just before RNS would suggest a leak...crystal amber was another kick in the teeth.
I dont think the RNS was meek ...it was just hur's understated way. the spot was not commercial however i saw the bit about dec update as a positive. however this has been commented on in a negative way - why? the promotion of scattergraphs of info that was already released by hur and said to be better than expected again you might have to question why?..
trice's seemingly lack of concern for the SP or shareholders has always worried/annoyed me - but he is what he is. arrogant twonk. i was really annoyed when he put the stop on the rumour rise that we LTH sorely needed. especially as he never does it when it is the other way. however it does add to the evidence that if he says results of lancaster are better than expected you can count on it. i also suspect if he has good news he will be happy to wait to properly release in it an RNS when the time is ready.
fingers crossed for great rns next week - i think it would have less impact if released this week pre election. then hopefully it will be a nice steady rise in anticipation of CMD.
on the other hand i might be completely wrong and the crew are staring out of the port holes in gusty storms at the giant squid!
Thank you Treaty. I was actually considering emailing Alastair Stobie directly and asking him, in the absence of any shareholding, if he has faith in the company. I think he needs to send a clear message to institutions that he, as CFO, is prepared to put his money where his mouth is. The absence of any shareholding clearly sends the wrong message.
A very good post bocase. I see one or two copies being passed around fellow investors.Maybe you should send a copy to the board of Hurricane. You could especially highlighting the fact that Mr Stobie has yet to buy shares in the company that he financially looks after. Now that's not good PR.
Bocase - Yoda says..... " At this week's end it will start!"....
Bocase - Yoda says..... " At this week's end it will start!"....
You are very welcome Daltry. I look forward to the recovery when it comes as surely it will.
Bocase - I hope you don't mind, but I have sent a copy of your
excellent precis post to some who don't read this BB as avidly as I .
Thank you.
I am as frustrated as anyone but I am also aware that this can and almost certainly will turn around and reward patient holders very handsomely indeed.
There are many factors against us at the moment.
1. Sentiment against the oil and gas sector. This will change. When value is irresistible greed will overcome sentiment.
2. Tullow has rocked the sector to it's core this week. Without the Tullow news we might well have seen some recovery.
3. Fear of a labour government or hung parliament and taxes on the industry. Clarity is awaited.
4. Some degree of misunderstanding of the point of Warwick West. It was never likely to be another producer but the information it contributes may be worth way more than the oil it could produce.
5. Results from Lancaster. Why would institutions pile in a few days before Dr.T. updates the market on what is fundamental to the investment case.
6. Crystal Amber. I don't think this can be overstated. When that number of shares are being sold in the market, what chance has the share price got.
7. Yes Mr. Stobie. Put your hand in your pocket and show that you have faith in the company.
8. The language of the RNS was at best meek. If you have a product you want to sell then damn well sell it. Hopefully Dr. T. will be a bit more effusive with the good news next time.
Most of these factors are temporary but taken together I think we can understand why the share price has been a disaster. I remain patient and confident that we will see a share price which is a multiple of this level before too long. As Buffet says buy when others are fearful. I believe we will look back on these times and regret not loading up more, but of course common sense and a diversified portfolio should always prevail.
Anyone heard of a company IPO-FX
