if i buy hmon do i get to buy hmos shares at 15p with no stamp duty to pay? so 2.7+15p=17.7p so why hmso at 19.2p?
atm I see 2.69p on hmon and 19.2p on hmso, meaning 66.5% down since sep-1st or 41% down in just half day..
markets look really ugly today.
Alexios sold out mid 20s i suspect and wants in cheaper. award for deramper for the day coming to you.
Means under 10p
I suspect many here do realize what de-facto second-wave of covid and inevitable further economic slowdown (on both: demand and supply-side) means for retail sector in general and particularly to hmso ?
HMON ar at 5.06p so 5.06+15=20.6
HMSO 21p
So HMSO are worth more than HMON
Correct re -37% if you are still holding both HMSO and full HMON allocation.
Expect most should have already sold into the spike on last Mon-Tue
Mine went out at 23.8 and 8.7 for pretty much breakeven from 45p buys pre consolidation
Alexios - you're missing the whole point of RI by skipping all intermediate steps including counting-in HMON (nil) shares (if you got them, which in total are worth more than HMSO atm). For each 5 HMSO shares (merged/consolidated into 1) you've got 24 HMON shares.
5 HMSO on Sep-1st was worth 45p at close = 1 HMSO today worth 21p + 24 HMON worth 5p
5x45p -> 21p+24x5p
or simply put: 225p -> 141p (-37%)
lol, I might have no idea what calculus is - but still do remember some basic first-grade algebra..
50p down to 20p is exactly 60% drop
Yuri
45p down to 20p is -55.55%
45 × 0.5555 = 24.999
45-24.999= 20
Volume will be mostly due to the FTSE demotion. There were similar percentage volumes in other companies in the reshuffle. e.g. ITV.
Check hmon volumes, 194 million shares plus 120 million UT.
hmso volume has also tripled above average today.
Alexios: closing sp is indeed lower, but for % change it's wrong direction - if your reference sp is 45 (not 50p) then drop is lower, not higher.
45p low on 1Sep so over 55% drop
On those figures, yes a 49% drop.
With HMSO = 50p on Sep-1st and currently HMSO=20p & HMON = 4.5p -- it so far ends up with 49% drop in value.
Right?
i don't know. never been in shares that move index. expect some big trades to get reported after the close. get a nice low avg here so i'm holding. hopefully SP can rise from next week.
I think you're right. It could all get a bit wobbly around close?
last day in FTSE 250?
how many shares are in issue? volume today was about 18m shares. if mcap is around £35m? then there are 153m shares in issue? if thats correct why such big volume?
I agree heha, it may be best to wait until the end of the month before considering buying. There are always some who sell as soon as they receive their new shares, on the basis (misguided in my view) that they're in profit from 15p.
not the same as a placing
this is eye of storm as shorts try to discourage take up of rights
gambling that underwriters will have to dump shares
that they can use to cover
imv
So is it just the same as a placing so this SP should converge towards 15p ?
i would wait at least till the 24 September before buying price will most likely drop rather then increase because of ppl trying to sell.
So for example, if I had £5k what should I buy HMON or HMSO what needs to happen for one to favour the other?
Shorts unavailable now on IG unless u call in, she will slowly drift now until they merge
Good luck everyone, enjoy the ride
Depends on definition of w/l.
