Hi MJH, its a good question. I guess an open offer in that scenario could be an option, definitely you wouldn't want to have any dilution of value to the existing shareholders eg Us. Sometimes companies will offer addition shares to existing holders eg such as a rights issue discounted by x% to the share price.
Best regards and wishes
JPDM
I was wondering what will occur with regards to the 250M IPO target. As only 107M was actually raised in the IPO that leaves the proposed fund well short with regards to its intended purchases. At some point in the future when the HGEN share has gained more exposure, would an Open Offer be considered to try and increase the fund size or would the proposed size of the intended investments just be scaled back? Any thoughts?
That most of my other hydrogen share today are down 4-8% and this is still holding very well, hope I haven't spoken too soon!
@Etoteipi.
Agree with all you say, except the 'maybe a gamble'.
If this country/world is serious about the ESG programme, then Hydrogen has a central role to play.
The electric car won't be around long, a bit like the cassette or Betamax.
So, i'm hoping Hgen will, in time, be a real winner.
I've tucked it away at the back of my bottom drawer, but kept it in view!!
Good luck to us all.
It's a long term hold for me too, maybe a gamble but my research suggests that hydrogen has a serious part to play in the zero carbon mix. I've given up trying to second guess the market it's as much a mystery to me why this wasn't more popular and SSIT got off to a storming start.
Certainly positive to see some big boys jumping in
Investec on board with a 5.9%! Very encouraging.
Better to reply late, than never!
I'm very pleased with progress so far.
The IPO was dis-appointing.
General take up was only 35%, plus 1 investor stumping up £25M.
So, my thought was price would flop, and yet it's held it's initial price.
Plenty of exciting projects ahead for this company.
Incidentally, i wrote to the company, re: flotation. Got a reply directly from Dr JJ.
Long term hold for good capital growth, i predict
What great replies. This is why I love LSE! Thanks all.
Many investors in this share have been following hydrogen for some years and are well aware of the market as a whole. The problem with a young technology, keeping abreast of all innovative companies is nigh on impossible for an independent investor. That's why this fund is so attractive. A lot of us are already invested in companies like ITM Power and Ceres Power and will be aware of the type of innovative, but risky up and coming companies, but unless you are very wealthy and brave, you can't invest in them all. This fund allows you to do that which is the main reason why I'm invested IN HGEN.
It's a new company so not much history to show, hydrogen has had a good run already, if you believe in future potential of hydrogen (I do) then invest for the long term.
A friend showed me this company and I tried to find some information on what they are invested in or what they do. But the website is dreadful. And will need to do a deep research to find anything of use which I guess is why there is not much interest?
Thought people would be jumping on this? Thoughts why it’s just going up and down a penny? Thanks and GLA
HL charges can be higher than ii, it depends on how much your entire portfolio is valued at. If you have a high value one they give it with one hand and take it back with the other. If you have a low value one you are the gainer. HL charges are based on a percentage, ii charge a fixed fee. You have to do your own calculations. I would end up worse off with HL within the year.
Ah ok good old HL, thanks Crocqman and DJG123.

gyroman.
The bonus shares is something HL were offering for applications via them, I don't believe it was universal across other platforms.
This is only the 2nd IT IPO that I have participated in, both in the last month, and both times HL were offering bonus shares. Maybe it is a regular thing for them as an incentive to entice/keep investors to their platform?
It certainly worked for me, as I ended up opening an account with them purely to participate in these IPO's.
HL were offering 5 additional shares for every 1,000 allocated
Could anyone please explain what the deal with Bonus shares is? I bought in on IPO within my ii account and there was absolutely no mention of any bonus shares from ii.
Agree that they may not be fully invested yet, it can take time to do do at launch, especially as some companies will be unlisted.
Not sure if they would RNS when fully invested, will see in due course
With a large chunk of investment in private companies and likely to only be valued quarterly (?), perhaps any more meaningful moves will only take place on these valuation dates?
Long term hold anyway for me, so will only check here periodically outside of any RNS.

This is from their prospectus:
INVESTIBLE UNIVERSE AND ILLUSTRATIVE PORTFOLIO
Introduction
It is anticipated that, once the Initial Net Proceeds are fully invested (with the Liquidity Reserve having
been subsequently invested in Private Hydrogen Assets), at least 70 per cent. of the Company’s
assets will be invested in Private Hydrogen Assets with the balance invested in Listed Hydrogen
Assets. Over the medium to longer term, it is expected that the weighting to Listed Hydrogen Assets
will reduce further as the allocation to Private Hydrogen Assets grows, with Listed Hydrogen Assets
primarily focussed on strategic equity holdings derived from the listing of operational companies
within the Private Hydrogen Assets portfolio over time.
INVESTIBLE UNIVERSE
The Investment Adviser has identified Hydrogen Assets with a total value in excess of US$90 billion
Just had confirmation from HL and my bonus shares are showing, also a tick up of 1% due to directors buying. Not a great deal but an encouraging steady start.
Don't think they are fully invested yet.
Does
Could be that they are not yet fully invested. Doesn't anyone know if they are?
I wonder if it’s an exposure/advertising thing. I got into this only yesterday but purely by chance as I was researching clean hydrogen at the time . Did some DD and took a punt. Hoping people will see this as a fab opportunity and jump on board. Clean hydrogen WILL be enormous in the future .
Bought in to this on the IPO to help further spread my Hydrogen exposure. Pretty much the whole of the Hydrogen market is bouncing up a bit this morning, presumably the NAV of this is too, yet it remains flat. I guess at least it's not falling, any thoughts?
I noticed similar on the SSIT launch recently (my first time using HL). Purchase shares showing on first trading day, but not the bonus shares.
I sent them an email intra-day to query and the bonus shares were showing before the end of that day and they explained they had to manage the allocation of these separately, presumably due to possible scale-back on original applications to achieve the correct number of bonus shares compared to expected.
I will follow up if not showing on Monday, but expect it is just a timing thing, perhaps it just needs an overnight feed on their system to reflect them.
