I agree but made a tidy 5 figure profit on my trades so out for now. Will rebuy is if goes down again but happy to have travelled.
There's no overshoot on the upside, this is due a return to 900p+
Holding is a wiser move than attempting to trade.
Overshoot on downside .... all in. Overshoot on upside trim.
Ty mms, nice to do business.
The balloon going down.
So trimmed at 617p+ yesterday and 635p+ today - should have exited totally in hindsight. But average nice at 344p so plenty of scope to rebuy, rinse and repeat.
I meant how does CMC offer a different service compared to its peers, such Plus 500, AJ Bell etc
4 x usual recent trading volume
Thanks for sharing those. CMCX was in my radar, but recently I lost sight of it.
How does CMCX differentiate from other trading platforms?
my next favourites are CMCX & TCAP - move like a dream - buy dips - sell rallies but £3 & £2 respectively in 2023 with maybe lower first.
inflation was sticky at 6.5 headline as expected. The wage inflation came in higher, watched by the fed. hence the indigestion in the US.
The direction is down, the fed is behind again and the market is moving higher with loads of players underweight in equities.
Add into the mix the UK, undervalued for years (brexit and anti UK sentiment) - bodes well and the Stg strength of late - nothing to do with Truss being ousted - poor Liz - has reset all.
HFG undervalued but as with DLG always worth trimming into rises.
I use HL and a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet works a treat as it records each trade and has a section to sell and the price including commissions.
I record the costs on the platform to include all at my average cost with a selling commission and update it live with every trade so the live portfolio real time whizzes up and down and alerts to give you a focus.
Simple but very effective.
Inflation has fallen again in the U.S. maybe it’s positive sentiment pushing the price up, which fell partly due to rising inflation? Even more reason to hold this quality company now!
I wish my investing platform calculated cost prices using your maths Mary lol
Thanks it makes sense.
AVERAGE COST
quite easy really - 20 trades including purchases around £5.
- my inital purchase was 544 on 8th Nov part sales at 577 in Nov added from 530 and below selling parts at 561 573 587 617 and the average tumbles.
Will rebuy back again if the price drops sub 550 but for now average is 400p for my holding.
Think of it this way
5000 shares at 544
5000 shares at 500
3000 sold at 570
3000 bought back at 532
3000 sold at 577
3000 sold at 617
and you have 4000 @ 381p
not quite my trades but not far away.
Mary, how can you have an average of sub £4 when the stock has never sold at that level since November?
over 10k+ on a position I only opened mid Nov but average now sub £4 so selling no more until news.
I'll consider trimming when we get to 900p, don't see any good reason why it should be trading much lower than that.
my trim at 587 was a bit early but I trimmed another 1/6 at 617.
Je ne regrette rien
Can't see any. It's like someone in the US just woke up and realised this is a huge bargain (still) on offer.
? any news
HFG
Good morning to you Mary
What dividend paying company did you refer to in your post?
Alessandro
Good morning, nice lift and with the US inflation figures due later this could rocket again is inflation falls below 6.6%.
Mary x
What I think is fantastic, part sold at 587 thank you very much and now have a holding in a dividend paying company I never owned before mid November with a sub 438p average cost.
Will add to position on falls and am hoping for £7 in 2023.
