Hardly £5 scalps. i've just invested a whole years worth of my earnings into this. have you invested that much??
Can you not use this board as your own personal trading journal? Nobody is interested in your £5 scalps
136.50p seems to be days low so far.
I found the centre in Cirencester to be staffed by competent and knowledgeable staff and mechanics who had a passion for the motor industry and donkeys years experience. Could'nt fault them tbh.
The current state of Hfd reminds of where Kwik Fit found itself about 30 years ago with a collapse in consumer confidence. They had to put a lot of restructuring, cash and marketing to effect a turnaround.
It is not a good look for the Hfd BOD to be blaming the weather and everything else without taking a closer look at themselves.
This year's miss on profits might very well run into a multi year miss. I wouldn't be convinced the shares are at their bottom just yet. They could have a long timely fall ahead.
75,000 buy spotted
Buys have now overtaken the sells, SP should start moving up
Now
i posted this a couple of weeks ago re halford autocentres. given the utter **** taking with their customers, today's rns really is no big surprise.
======================================
halfords auto centre26 jan 2024 11:33
went to my local hfd auto centre yesterday.
i wanted an oil level sensor replaced. the part costs about £50, + an oil refill. all in, job takes 30-60 mins.
girl on reception didn't understand the job, part cost or how long it takes but she did know it would cost me more than £300 + a £49 diagnostic check even though my dealer has already done that, because it's hfd company policy. that's an overall cost alot more than the dealer quote.
if this is the abysmal standard hfd operates at then it's got some way to go to recovery.
i thought i'd give hfd a try after an absence since they once told me i needed all my wipers replaced,.... 6 months after they had replaced them. 😬
Just to recap.... the so called "takeover" rumour wasn't a "takeover". It was a possible merger between two poorly performing, low PE stocks. It was all paper.
Yes above 100p. so could mean offer of 200p
There was takeover rumours but what price were folk quoting? i've been out of Halfords since pre covid.
"Put the business up for sale. any offer will be above 100p surely"
I never said sell the business at 100p. it was somebody else who posted 100p as a sp target?
Downbutnotout, why are you buying at ~140p whilst simultaneously suggesting they seek an offer of 100p?
Good going Halfords.

#2 spot!
Got some more at 138p
Nice bounce off 136p!
Put the business up for sale. any offer will be above 100p surely.
No need RNS to find out that halford is in real trouble.
Big stores with 10+ staff in each store mostly busy with their phones and no customers!
That is the reality.
Brace yourself Rodney. about to come out of auction..
Oh dear.
this is an interesting case study in how analysts sometimes spend far too long listening to management and reading financial reports and ignore the basics. i bet not one of them got off their ****s and wandered around a good sample of service centers and retail stores. the analysts for this stock have been dire.
In auction
Damn - I was thinking about selling Halfords only last week, but now I may have to buy the dip... wherever that bottoms. Surely it's a sound business and has been oversold?
Is that right crawshaw
