Hi Steve58
I’m failing to see how there’s a downside.
Helium always goes up, it’s a fact, so the
upside is a ‘given’ for DM & the rest of us.
Riding the best rollercoaster in the entire World :-)
Thanks all, its hard reading without a beer..
Mixed it is, i think :)
Imo the only downside would be if no helium is found. I can only see upside.
Kapkina,
can you be a bit more specific about your query? downside re current ops or general about company? or something else?
Is there any downside from here?

I too thought of density differences - same as Speculativepunt, as the effect is significant from what i could gather my work experience particularly for brownfield that has undergone long term shut in (gravity does its job and generally you get pure oil at production at restart).
I googled to see if there was anything good on gas, He in particular (lots of junk) and found one: https://chemistry.stackexchange.com/questions/61140/why-dont-heavy-and-light-gases-separate-in-the-atmosphere
See 2nd response down by Ivan Neretin which talks about entropy, and 3rd response down by Chet Miller for working method / calculation (could be made simpler by approximation approach but it will do for now).
Its a good find, and backs up its mixed, but I cant find a trusted source for reference, but I dont know the correct lingo for the subject to search effectively.. and I got suckered into that helium beer which at first I doubted simply because helium would escape the can, and would go into your belly not lungs.. but I then watched how its was added to the beer at a craft brewer. fool :(
Speculativepunt - good start to approach this from first principle.
To also consider, entropy have been introduced from its initial state, then dissolution in water and back to gas due to depressurisation, therefore entropy will ensure the gases are mostly mixed with minor / limited difference of He concentration at the top and bottom of reservoir e.g the column height.
The 2 gases are very hard to mix because of the big difference in molecular density. The molecular weight of helium is 4.02, and density is .1786 kg/m^3 at standard temperature and pressure. For nitrogen, molecular weight is 28.02, and density is 1.2506 kg/m^3.
It is possible that they can mix and once mixed, the gas molecules are close together and they move around quite a bit with kinetic energy so they stay mixed and don't separate out into layers.
@inthevoid, if it was not for the other guys providing facts over plausible guestimates I would have sold long ago..
mind you I am guesstimating that helium is still mixed with the nitrogen in the gas cap, struggling to find a plain english simple explanation...
Ride the dream Dai
You’re one of the most influential posters on this board.
Collaborated info with so many well-informed posters,
as given me the inspiration to fully believe that this
Willy Wonka Golden ticket is not a dream, but a reality.
I would hate to see you de-risk anything and miss out
on the full potential reward for your wisdom/faith.
Dai2belts: l sincerely wish you the best outcome possible.
Josh my advice when doing your charts. Ignore the derampers. Go back to may. Quite a few sold and rebrought. If it looks good then they will try to ridicule you.!
All o a ok.
@seagul + @ woogie lads (or lasses- just being PC) cheers! Sky blues are back in Cov now (get in). Matt the G is going to be fit as a flea next season…. I’ll catch him at a game Woogs and BHA you keep ignoring the party organisation :-) :-)) cheers both …. Now ‘play up Minchin, while we drill together, we will never loose (helium)……. PJ
@Pjonesy
I feel for you - the view for the away fans was dire at Withdean. I think you deserved to be paid to watch from there. I was sat in the temporary seats.
Can’t believe what’s happened to Coventry after 70+ years (I believe) in the top flight. Just goes to show how fortunes can change over time.
Brighton were very fortunate to get a lot of support from supporters of many other clubs during those hard years. Many of us haven’t forgotten - some, I’m afraid have and have delusions (IMO).
Good luck to the Sky Blues and here’s to a successful few weeks for DM and his team.
That's the one!!
@woogie- super Mattt the God(den) ????
If you do. Can you give my nephew a pay rise. (Matt G) haha. GLAH
@seagul forgot to say- sky blue lost 1-0, awful game and yes I can remember the 3 hour drive home *%as wet through!! But also I managed to get into the club before the game and had a few cokes with the home fans - great bunch and I’m pleased to see what’s happened! Our fans had a great time @ yours for the FA cup a few years ago.
Now ….. share chat……. Bloody great say and hopefully more to come!!!! Good evening all PJ
Seagul- top man !! Hoping if DM and team come up trumps I can buy out the Cov owners….. deamville city!!
You gonna sort that party out for us next season???
Sorry to all others - nice to have an open and honest board….we’ll spot the newbies for sure!!
Cheers Sky blue jonesy
Pretty much @SteadyDanny
All is well here. Can't see anything that's gone wrong so far, fingers crossed that carries on.
Not sure if you saw my earlier post this morn but, to your initial point, I've been using my twitter to reach out to experienced O&G analysts regarding HE1 and the responses have been positive.
Pressed post by mistake. So hadn't finished my post. This has had noteable deramping that has shook a few. Scirroco have been selling to fund new ventures. But they still RNS He1 RNS updates.
They still hold quite a few!
I'm still of the opinion that HE1 RNS posts are held until they are confident to release them.
The EIA approval took 11 days.
I'm still confident 24th of June is our day.
Josh I'm of the opinion if something has an ongoing amount of positive fundamentals it will come to light to 'bigger investors' maybe fund managers offering a 'potential return to HNW individuals. I'm yet to see what has gone wrong here despite numerous derampers (probably paid) advising the infrastructure and raw materials required to create a drilling platform being anissue
@pjonesy
I was a season ticker holder there for 5 seasons, getting wet whenever it rained. It was bleeding grim, but, somehow, the club got through those times. We’re very lucky to now have a lifelong fan as Chairman with a long family connection to the club. Not foreign money needed.
However, we seem yto be getting a number of fans with a sense of entitlement to success. Jeez, we’ve only been in the top-flight twice in our history, and this will be our longest stay. I’m loving the journey and appreciate where we came from.
ST: Absolutely conversational tone:
If this all turns out to be good (as we all want) then you could point to all the careful research you did and why in most case's your investments are successful. If at the 11th hour however this all went tits due to bad seals or whatever, then you would no doubt, fairly I think, say something along the lines of. "Well, that's exploration for you, it high risk, nothing guaranteed, these things sometimes happen." So nothing works all the time.
Where I find it odd is your outward disdain (and that's ok ) for TA, you often refer to charts without realising it in a positive way. last week you posted:
"I copied what it was said as it was based on empirical evidence and not based on "tea leaves readings". Here is a partial quote of what was said:
"You might find that a price rises up to spud announcement and then if the drill is likely to take 6 weeks or more then the SP will drop back or drift sideways and then it might rise again towards the end of the anticipated drilling time etc.
Usually there then follows a drop off on the SP until they start some sort of 'testing' at which point folk will get back in to a stock again in anticipation of a good test result-Many will bale out as close to the test result announcement as possible on the basis that more often than not, the testing isn't as positive as the hype may have inferred.- and better to take 15-20% profit for sure than hope that the results are good".
That was using historical repeated SP movement to predict what was likely to happen in a similar situation although on a different stock in a different situation.. It absolutely was TA, don't you think?
I really do get your dislike of TA in any form but it just seemed as though , to prove how TA was not going to be of any use, you cited a TA type explanation, to prove it was useful after all?
Seagull - or withdean stadium visitor (I went there to see Cov play once!! Park and ride etc!). How can Chartists/charting ever predict the impact of what we hope will be revealed soon?? Does our He1 community anticipate mirroring the DME story ?? Anything like that and we can all party….. great day, good to see DM again and nice to see the sp moving in the right direction. Next RNS…. I’ll leave it there. Cheers PJ
