AB, you have no idea!
The short fuse that some people have to immediately personalise a differing pov than they have is very surprising to me. How they make money at this game with that mindset is beyond me.
But as you say, its very pleasant here and fingers crossed in the next few days or so we all can have a big BB "group hug" (if such a thing can exist!) ATB
I'm now expecting a 29p finish... with 30p being smashed first thing tomorrow.
Wyn, isn't it pleasant to be in an atmosphere of pure helium rather than suffering the toxic hot air of the other board?
Each to his own ST. my point was, have a plan at which to sell. The figure the individual chooses is down to them.
or don't, its a free country.
Wyn, I think one has to be sensible but also not too give gold away thinking it is shining copper. BP laid down some good fundamental points in his post a little while back and a few other guys and girls here have given their valuable opinion on the approximate "value" for the company. I think I have time to hold this babe and may top slice at around 300p and sell close to Trek's target. Trek's got some track so I will stick with that.
"I’d ride the spike and try and get out as near as possible to the top."
we'd all be a lot better off if we could do that reliably! :-)
I’d ride the spike and try and get out as near as possible to the top.
I’d prob leave a quarter of my invest in here to see how it does long term but it be good to take out some profits during the first spike
Relentless buying pressure again today. The geology behind this is too strong to ignore.
Good advice, there are lots of different strategies that people use but calculating them and writing them down (e.g. on a spreadsheet) can really help in those stressful moments. Occasionally it pays to rely on impulse but mostly it pays to be diligent and consistent. Set a target and stick to it, or revise in light of new information. Some people like to cash in or slice profit at 10% or 20%. Others are looking for a half and half split at 100% gain (leave half in but take back the original stake for other ventures). Other people have a long term date target. It's all good, just understand your own reasoning and you won't have as many regrets about hasty button pressing :-)
I originally planned to take a slice out of this at 28p, and leave the rest in to assess at appraisal results stage, but revised that that first cut up as more information on de-risking came along. Still have a figure in mind, might or might not revise again depending what happens next ... :-)
Trading around a "discovery" RNS will be fraught.
The SP could/should rocket, as it does there will be huge sells to bank the profit causing most likely I think, wild swings.
Trying to surf that as small PI will take some nerve and a lot of luck.
Personally I think a plan before purchase is always most helpful and part of the plan is a target price to sell at. When it hits that price you sell. It takes a lot of the emotion out of it and that will become more apparent if/when the wild swings take place (IMO DYOR)
That is a point I tend to consider a lot, Xerxes300; do I sell some when the share price has rockets past 100p? Even 50p has crossed my mind, but then a few scenarios spring to mind:
What about the point where a TAI-1 find actually derisks the Rukwa basin? What about if I take some cream at 50p and then some of the BIG boys, who sees beyond my myopic vision and just start to accumulate from muppets like me? Say, they have the pockets and will take our shares all the way?
What about if I do the same at 100p and they, again, just take my shares easily as they have a book to fill?
What about then, I only sell at 150p and see that it is soo cheap as HE1 continue to have discovery after discovery and I see this going past 200p with ease and head to 300p, and me, having sold cheap?
Seriously, TAI-1 has a lot on its shoulders, although a failure here doe not mean a failure in the other wells; there are so many exploration companies with stories like that..take MATD as one.
And as I am not good at trading I will hold my shares dearly till we get close to Trek's £5 (yes, after so many complaints I had to give up on my £10 target).
March 22nd RNS:
"The rig that Mitchell Drilling are providing is larger than originally contracted and is suitable for drilling of 6¾" appraisal wells. This will allow the Company to move directly from exploration into the appraisal phase, saving considerable time and money in demobilisation and remobilisation costs and allowing Helium One to continue the fast-track development of our globally strategic Rukwa helium project."
Hi Noob - if Tai-1 is as successful s everybody hopes, don't you think there is a good chance that the rig will stay put and start an appraisal drill? DM has previously indicated that as a possible strategy.
I have been considering this option, I am guessing there will be the first sell off at £1 down to about 70-80p and then the next leg up to past £1.40 - £2, nerves of steel and great timing required where it could probably all go wrong and get priced out, so its best ust to hold IMO.
The swerve ball could be big ii's buying in or a buy out offer immediatley and the price does actually go straight up parabolic.
OR we have slow growth to the SP due to NO hype or exposure, ii's are still cautious etc
or some other myriad of outcomes ha
Panicked for a second then, I thought I’d signed in using my Trek sign in ;)
Many people, I suspect, have plans to sell if/when a discovery is announced and then buy back after a pull back in the SP. What are the possible announcements that could be made in the days after a discovery announcement that may make this strategy of selling a mistake?
