Woogie - I am sure that by the time DM gave that 12th July interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8m7W8qwnhQ that the drilling had at least reached that original bottom. DM says a bit after 3 mins into that interview that after the successful sidetrack, drilling down was under way.
What I am not sure about is that by 12th July the drilling had gone "numerous metres" past 481 metres.
SP - you wrote " they would have hit that zone c.4 days ago" - so what depth do you estimate (at 30m/day) they reached c.4 days ago? Is it the bottom of the 700-850m zone?
Oh dear, Metis. Do you really think DM would make such a statement, without actually achieving a successful side track drill. Thus, meaning going past original bottom.
I'm happy, if they're taking extra care and drilling slower so not breaking of any more bits. But if they do, I'll be ready with my milwaukee SDS drill. Albeit I've only got a 24mm bit! Haha
Don't need to convince you because I don't care if you believe me or not. It is just my opinion, just like lots of other have opinions about how far is drilled per day or what the SP will be on a certain day. I don't see you questioning the 30m/day number so seems weird you question that particular part?
In my world, to say you have successfully done something means you have sufficient evidence that what you have done has worked. To say you have done something successfully when you haven't drilled 1 metre past where you have inserted a wedge would be clearly wrong - again in my opinion. I didn't say how many metres past 481 but to me a successful sidetrack would have meant that they would have had to drill sufficiently far past 481 metres that a new track/hole has been developed that is separate to the original hole and they know it will pass the broken drill. Again, just an opinion based on common sense.
Convince me that anything I have said is so wrong that you need to question it ;)

" but they must have gone numerous metres past 481 metres at time of interview in order for DM to state it has been successful"
Convince me that the above is not just mere speculation!
If its May's Investor Presentation, slide 16, strike line then the left had scale is Time, milli-seconds, the time for the seismic signal to travel down and back.

Chill, it’s weekend now, rest assured
DM will see us right, worth the wait.
Re: Monday, no concerns in mind,
DM walks the talk, the talk, however, will come later
Take care, enjoy the ride, l am big time.

According to slide 15 of the investor presentation the first target is in the 700-850m zone (depending on where the drill was positioned). Given DM said in the last interview (11 days ago) that the side track had been successful, we know the side track started at 481 ish metres but they must have gone numerous metres past 481 metres at time of interview in order for DM to state it has been successful, then with the conservative estimate of 30m/day they would have hit that zone c.4 days ago. Given some contingency time for any casing, and testing then should be no surprise that we have not had any news (and we know DM loves a Monday RNS).
So agree with Rum, in that RNS should be imminent about what they have found in that pay zone. Hopefully they have done a wireline so they can confirm a discovery, rather than just another gas show
Noob
As always a very well-constructed post.
Joy to read, it really is, as all your posts are IMO

Loving the entertainment here this morning... The natives are getting restless, news whether good or bad can't be far away.
Here's looking forward to Monday ; 0 ))

I’m game, if you are :-) lol
Good post, good reasoning throughout.
I’m in, in for the long-run
Up, down, turn around, DM will deliver in time.
Ahh I failed to understand that this your forum and your rules, so sorry.
Noob I have already explained my concerns and if you cannot understand them that your problem not mine. Where did I say people piled on me, I didn’t, I was saying it to Shagged and people were all over him yesterday. I get it you cannot even contemplate hearing views different to your own. As too what I do with my own shares thats none of your business at all and you have no idea if I am out, fully in or somewhere in between.
Cheers rumandpoker, I hope your right as this board is going to quickly descend into chaos otherwise! Grab all the loo roll and batten down the hatches
My understanding was that they had recommenced drilling prior to the Friday. And we have no idea as to drilling speed..30mpd is a possibility, but not necessarily a probability. Personally, I think they've just hit their first target, as of Thursday or Friday, or will this weekend. With an RNS mon-wed, with Thurs the dark horse. Although I'm happy to wait till whenever
Am I correct in thinking they restarted drilling from last Friday roughly (assuming sidetrack casing had set?) If so and at 30m per day then aren't we somewhere around 720m ish? And isn't the first target at 900m? Or have I got that wrong, because I don't think they even have anything to report yet and even if they have reached sufficient depth, only just... please correct me if necessary there are plenty more knowledgeable on here
With DM on the drill site, I see little reason for him to communicate with the Nomad/broker about progress to date until any data has been analyzed prior to notification (RNS).
Taking into consideration the last gas show that was known several days prior to its announcement as they were fishing and then sidetracking, it is evident that not all gas shows are announced in real time.
We are now drilling through vertically stacked targets, do you think he would want to announce multiple gas shows a day, every other day or concentrate on hitting a particular depth (700/900m) and then report?
While I realize he is not the driller, he is analyzing data in real time to allow him to consider his next drill target.
Chips are on table, you game!?!
You can always tell a shorter when they're 100% negative without any reason or indication. Might want to try more subtle de-ramping.
Or how about a balanced opinion?
All exploration shares are high risk. We have not had notification of a duster, another drill bit lost or abandonment. Neither have we had news of a positive wireline logging. That suggests to me there is nothing material to report to the market as at COP on Friday. Everyone has taken a position here, and we'll continue to see the T-trades come in and out. Subjective comments from anyone (including me) is just conjecture not fact.
This share in my judgement seems to be a good bet...........but that is essentially what it is, a bet with better odds than most.
Morning SeaHawk.
Like you and despite my derisking I would be delighted with a positive update and a successful first drill discovery.
A bird in the hand ... as the saying goes!
GL to all of us on Monday.
Morning Shagged I hope you are ready for the pile on! Like you I am concerned but I really hope I am wrong, it would be nice for one of these small companies to get it right for a change + helium is key to many medical devises. You are right MD needs to see this drill through especially after announcing it was a ‘must drill’ which I would rather he would not have announced frankly.
Anyhow another weekend to wait out and an early rise on Monday. Good luck everybody.
Scott22 - Careful now, you're almost sounding like a heretic to many of the lunes on here!
I hope you're derisked a little for the likely Monday RNS as it may not be pretty.
Absolutely vital to market confidence that they do complete this 'must drill' prospect prior to any thoughts about moving on to the next prospects.
Any talk of sidestepping it until after further driils would not be pretty on the share price, particularly for those not invested for the long haul.
If further, unresolved issues are announced on Monday the share price recovery will not be as good as last time and will also tank further than last time.
Seriously. Do some investors need their hands held? We have been blessed with news via Twitter, proactive, rns etc. I’m sure we will find out soon enough.
Again imperial helium started drilling ages ago 5th July and have not communicated anything since. Chill we will find out either way soon enough. And this is a three well exploration.
I hope not. My worst fear is they continue to have problems with the drill and they suspend the drill at tai. We will just have to wait till Monday I guess.
There’s always a risk with companies like this, hence the upside potential is huge.
