If in respect of the subject matter of this thread then not in the running, newbuilds not their thing, from a very quick scan of the website. More conversions and repairs specialists from what I can see. But, TBH, never heard of them before. But then I'm not usually a serial boat spotter. :)
Good stuff si i take my hat off mate .
What is your thoughts on A&P Falmouth ?

LOL Cheers, OT. Or not as the case may be. 300 days today without any kind of alcoholic beverage. :(
The nickname was given to me some 20 years ago when I then had a penchant for apple based refreshment.
More of a Guniness man when I do drink. This dry January thing has gone on a bit too long. :)
Si Derman I see tax has been cut on cider
Happy happy ?
Interesting the Queen should have visited last week stokey
Thanks, yeah I realize it's 3 different ships, just looked at the current one: Scillonian III, Gry Maritha, and Lyonnese Lady with lengths of 68m, 38m and 16m respectfully. So makes a bit more sense now as the budget for the 38m & 16m one would be considerably less.
It's not three of the Scillonian IV's. It's also a new cargo vessel and an inter-island launch. Maybe they are cheaper. ???
Si_Derman ref 18.40 post I believe the current timetable for the NFS is the deadline for bids is this month and a decision is due by years end with a view to contracts being signed and work starting next year with completion around 2024/25.
Does anyone know the total cost to build the 3 Scillonian ships? 48m is a lot, but doesn't sound like enough to build 3 ships. I wonder if other local funds have been allocated in addition to this.
Evening Stokey. Regardless of it's current position it doesn't stop the guys down at the yard getting on with the work on the upgrade though. It may be just waiting there until they are ready with the new mezzanine deck and crane. ???
Lets hope so, re: the Scillonian IV.
Do you know the timeline as regards the contract/tender, whatever, for the NFS by any chance?
Si_Derman ref 18.19 post The Entsha has been showing as moored there all month I cannot see it making much money stuck there. At least it is showing as the next port of call is Appledore so it is expected here.
Hopefully we will hear about the Isles of Scilly ferries soon as I thought the only issue was funding.
Evening all. Nice to see it finish over 27p. :)
Good sleuthing Stokey and you OT.
I've always been encouraged that our team Resolute partner, BMT, have been working on the plans for new Scillonian IV and that of Appledore's history of making the excisting Scillonian III.
The aim is to have the new vessel built and in service by 2024. So, could they manage both? It is feasible to have parts/blocks or even the hull , built elsewhere, and transported for final assembly.
I wonder how long before they decide who gets the contract?
Meanwhile, the Entsha is still stuck up that creek in the Ivory Coast. Unless someone ditched the transponder/ GPS doobry overboard and it's not. :)
FWIW I would go with Belfast if H&W win the bid

Bubble2021 ref 16.53 post I think you will find that I am right. I recall that JW said he would do all he can to get the National Flagship bid for Appledore. Also Appledore is closer to the Isles of Scilly than Belfast so it makes more sense for the to be built there. Also it is possible for the orders to be split between the two. I wonder if Appledore will do the civilian ships and Belfast the military ships.
That's Belfast stokey
I think that Appledore will be busy next year especially if HARL gets the bid for the new National Flagship.
3 ships..?
Well found Stokey! Re Scillonian

A lot of 3 trade buys last few days any clue anybody ?
Buried in the detail of the spending review was the announcement of the first round allocation form the levelling up fund of £1.7Bn of local investment in local areas including among the schemes given funding was this to upgrading the ferry to the Isles of Scilly, I think a contract may be coming HARL's way.
