"My I remind you believe it or not the the COE and all GSK employees are accountable to share holders."

May I politely remind you that the BOD is accountable to
Bond holders
Bank Lenders
Other creditors
Pension Trustees
Employees
Shareholders - who have an equity value within the company
Personally I wouldnt get too "high and mighty" about the place that shareholders have in the stakeholder list......right now ..for "many " companies the "power" to decide on dividends is in the hands of the lenders and bondholders..not the BOD ..due to possible covenant clauses etc
Poker,
You are totally wrong in your assumption on the way I trade I have a core holding and I have play money which i trade with on all stock.
My I remind you believe it or not the the COE and all GSK employees are accountable to share holders.

I think it is fair to say that you expect to just sit on your ar*se and have any CEO do all the work to give you a share price increase , a dividend etc no matter what the world throws out ...
What have YOU done to improve your return on being a GSK investor ?..... did you sell before the pandemic struck the stock market when the warning signals were there ...have you managed to accumulate more shares for yourself by being smart ?
I get the impression ..no...you suggest that you just want safe, comfy no risk profit with others doing all the work ..and if they don't achieve for you...you throw peanuts at them and want them out....
My view is that investors don't seem to understand that when you go through the process of a BIG company split like this ..the City will NOT tend to give you a "great" share price UNTIL the process is complete and the split has been successful....
This is a behemoth with many stakeholders and the City puts certain pressures on the share price to ensure that the BOD keep their eye on the ball and stay focused on the job at hand ..
I don't think it would matter who was the CEO ...during this period of execution and risk the City plays tougher..and I guess rightly so.... the last thing investors want is complacency during the year of execution
The very important Update on Wednesday is of course crucial ... and you cannot expect a share price "high" etc before such strategy and further news of progress has been reported and seen as progressive
I agree with some of the posts that EW has not delivered in the past 4 years. The dividend cut is all very well as long as the money saved Is properly invested for future growth. These days you can soon pay a few billion for a way over valued bolt on company which turns out to be a pink poodle. Pretty sure GSK paid a few billion for a company a couple of years back that has turned out just like that. Money would probably be better spent on our own in house research and development
Dont disagree with you, think she is a waste of space, but let her deliver on the strategy and then get rid of her. But dont think it is solely her fault. Previous idiots sold off oncology and didnt invest enough.
If we follow Astra lead, yes divi income will hurt, the growth will outgrow and make up for it.
She has had her chance and not delivered, the only reason she is doing anything now is because she has toooo :-) if not she will be looking at an Income from Microsoft. ALSO BY reducing the div pension funds might look ease where for Income
Yes the share price is the main reason here, but it is not a surprise and had to be cut, due to poor management decisions in the past.
She is out of her depth, but given a chance, but she can not run the pharma business post spin off.
This will be a better company in the mid to long term.
The Reason I invest is GSK, is 1. the dividend
2. share price increase
3 sound company
Mind you since this woman took the rains this is not looking that good she is just feathering her own nest In a job that is paid to highly
